I just got 4433. I was thrilled to get the TIE advanced, and I bought an aggressor and a bargain. I didn't see myself using the aggressor, but what the heck. Trying to config my advanced has been tough though, 65k just isn't enough to use level 7 gear. I'm using my agressor, but i really wanna give the advanced a spin.

How do you have yours fitted? I've looked for RE, not much on valcyn. Is it just a matter of looting? Or are people using lower level items? Any help is appreciated thanks.

Here's how I'd run it using stuff you can find pretty easy.

2 level 7 crafted guns with speed upgrades
1 level 7 crafted shield with mass experimented down - should be able to hit around 14.2K mass with 1775 HP
1 level 6 reward engine or level 7 crafted
1 RE'd level 2 capacitor
1 level 1 crafted reactor
1 level 1 crafted booster
1 level 1 crafted droid interface

I forget exactly how I load these out for people, but I think you should still have room for 2 level 1 armor plates and 1 chaff launcher. Of course putting together a bunch of nice RE'd stuff will make it a lot better, but it's still a pretty tough ship with easily-had gear.

Thanks for the reply- what is this lvl6 reward? When do you get it?

I just got my Advanced last night. I started to load it up with all the components I had been holding that were too heavy for my Interceptor, but the mass filled up fast. The strategy I wound up using was to put everything from my Interceptor in to the Advanced, and then putting my best shield and weapon in there.

I use the privateer Capacitor Overload 3, and our Engine Overload 3 every time I fly, so I can use a lighter/lower tier engine and cap. I still wind up running 55% throttle when dogfighting since the Advanced handles so well. I never run out of capacitor with the overcharge, too. I just need to keep a decent mid-grade reactor in there to power all the overloads.

So basically, I have my old Interceptor with 1700/1700 shields instead of 800/800, a little more armor, and a harder hitting weapon.

I need to do some fine tuning as I find better components, but that's they way I will probably treat my Advanced-- an Interceptor with more shields and weapons. If I get a lighter shield, I may throw in one of my fast top speed motors to make a galaxy cruiser.

Hmm.. there's an awesome thread around here that tells you exactly when you get all the reward items. Can't believe it isn't stickied.

I think you get it at the end of tier 3, though. It's a level 6 engine with 79.0 speed and 63.2 PYR. Very nice engine for a light fighter, especially when RE'd.

You have no idea, fellow Valkynite. BTW, the T/A is to die for.

I have a T/I with 10k to spare. 1.8k/37 cap that I looted last week. 1.8k/10k power reactor. 3.4k/70 speed engine. Tier7 gun. 800/8.x regen shields.

The only thing REd is the engine. I have no idea when I bought it, but I've never found something that good again. Everything else is looted or bought.

Where do you get the loot? Churn. I keep about 2-3 parts for every fifty that I sell. Head out to Lok, Rebellion Blaze, and shoot all day and all night. You'll come up with lots of parts. All in all, it takes patience and developing a good eye.

Ive flown most of the ships in JTL, and the Advanced might be my favorite. Mine is decked out with the finest REd gear a Master Shipwright/2x Master Pilot has. I dont have the exact stats, ill post those when i log back in in.

Reactor: Level 1: 11k gen

Engine: Reward (post-nerf:smileysad 79 speed, 70 y/p/r, 9k mass

Shield: Reward: 2550 front/back, 28k mass

Armor: None

Capacitor: Level 2: 1000 energy, 39 recharge

Booster: Level 1: 700 mass

DI: Pre-nerf Level 1: 14 speed, 500 mass

Weapon 1: Level 6: 2.8k max, .68 vs. shields/armor, 10k mass

Weapon 2: Level 6: 2.7k max, .68 vs. shields/armor, 10k mass

Commands: WO3, With the T/A's high Y/P/R stats, I havent needed to use EO yet.

My alt also just got her advanced, I could not fit everything I wanted into it, I had to switch to lvl 1 armor (I use cap to shields, so I guess its not a big issue), but I still could not squeeze my reward engines in it. I really wanted to squeeze a space bomb launcher in it, but again, no room, its just my alt, I don't feel like throwing alot of credits at it, with high quality RE stuff. But to answer your question, you have to use alot of RE stuff in the advanced.

I thought the rebels had it tough with the X-wing, but now looking at it now, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the Tie advanced is the hardest ship to equip nicely (for its lvl).

I was flying an Interceptor before the advanced. I had no trouble just flopping into an Advanced and loved every ounce of +15k mass. In terms of mass, the T/I and the T/A are only different by one gun. They're about equal to outfit.

To be an Imperial, you must love low-mass over everything else. It takes time and patience, but you can build a wicked-evil fighter. However, you must know what you want and why you want it. My T/I, for example, has no armor. Armor is only insurance. You lose it, and it never comes back. I am usually better off adding more shielding than insurance. If I have space left over, I add a "splash plate."

These days, I'm trying to make my Interceptor a flying gun with a ship attached. Gotta find a bigger gun that I can wedge in. Until then, I'm using my Boltdriver. (I was terribly afraid that I'd accidentally sold mine off, but fortunately for me, I'd just overlooked it.)

I've not gotten lucky and found a mondo reactor. I'm just waiting. I'm also waiting for the fat TIE and Advanced. Whohooo. More mass.

Here's a listing of the reward items:
All reward items post

You should have one of these kicking around:

Tier 3: 4th mission: Cygnus "Megadrive" Starship Engine
Cert Lvl: 6
Armor: 555.4/555.4
Hitpoints: 555.4/555.4
Drain: 2100
Mass: 13766.2
Pitch: 63.2
Yaw: 63.2
Roll: 63.2
Top Speed: 79.0
RE Lvl: 6

I have mine REd to 82 speed, 70 PYR, 8500 mass, 1500 reactor drain, but even pre-RE it's a pretty good engine. If you want some help getting in the air tonight, I can custom craft some components for you if you need. When I first started flying my a-wing, I had mostly crafted components.

An easy place to get some mass to start with is to run a really light Mark 1 reactor with reactor-overload 4. When it decays too much, you just buy another one, they're cheap.

Cheers,

my Tie Advanced got me my master, but i have a soft spot for the aggressor, its a 2 man terror with barf bags in the back. its like the bomber only a bit better on the stearing. more mass and outfitted with some good shields you can spend hours with a friend blasting the little rebel ships it bits.

takes some time getting use to flying it but its fun.

now alls i fly is my oppressor and VT-49, i still have the aggressor on hand for taking a friend to deep space.
