Thread: How to Fix the Jedi Fighter.
They aquire a lock fast, (takes about 1 to 1.5 seconds), and are not easily fooled by countermeasures. How fast you can kill with them... count to yourself "one onethousand". Thats about how long it takes to get tone. And well, having them just about anywhere in your HUD for a second is all the aiming thats required.

I honestly fail to see how anyone can justify the statistics on the majority of these new ships by any stretch of the imagination. They are so far out of scale with everything else, if anyone had mentioned the stats on said ships out of jest on these forums a few weeks ago, they'd probably have been laughed at. No would would have ever thought these things would seriously be in the game. (excepting beta testers heh)

Well, I guess it's comforting to know that you troll everyone else's threads as well. Crying nerf is like so pre-CU. Find something else to do... dude.
EDIT: Ahh too bad, the TOS doesnt mention baiting specifically. Keep trying though, im sure you'll give me something to reportable again soon. May want to cut bait now while your ahead and fish elsewhere.

Aren't you the guy who kept lobbying for Pilot XP to FS XP conversion? Why am I not surprised...

Well I've never taking anything down that far. So is the same true for componates?
PS. Has anyone else seen that odd A-Wing in Kash space? first time I had seen it was in Beta, and then a few times after.
The thing about decay is it only happens when your component's taken more than 10 points of damage. Thus, once you get down to 10 HP on chassis or 10/10 armor/HP on a component, it can never take enough damage to induce decay.
I've never experimented with components that low either, but a pilot named Eaca used to write a lot of posts about HP decay on parts and chassis, particularly the effect it had on PVP survivability, and the lowest decay limit came up in those discussions. I just figured out the mechanics behind it a day or two ago, though.

No, it is not about rare relics, or any of that. It boils down to being about balance, pure and simple.
For you it's about "balance". Try and remember that not many people PvP in space, and the majority of players do not post on these boards. Any changes made to things added to the game affect all of the players. It's my guess that the "elite" status of the JSF will be a lure to draw new players in.
Have you ever heard the phrase "All politics is local"? When you're talking about balance and changes that's exactly what it is. Even the most hard-core pilot has to concede that the majority of people that fly don't go to Deep Space, and if asked most likely wouldn't want to. To them, getting to fly this hot new piece of hardware is fine just as it is.
The fact that someone PvP's in space doesn't make their argument any more (nor any less) valid. I just wish people could step beyond their own ideas and recognize that anything changed in the game affects everyone. There won't be a "balance" switch added to the new ships.
Why bring the other ships in line with the new ones? The netcode already has enough problems with the speeds of the other ships, doing this will make you never see you opponent, and them never see you as the netcode cannot keep up, and you will die before you see them, or they will die before they see you.
The other fighters DO NOT need to be better, and relics are still relics. Design may be good, but that does not stop the fact that the function of newer things over these relics will still be better. Take the car metaphor, an old 50's or 60's Dodge car, even perfectly restored, with as modern an engine that will let you run it, is still going to be inferior to the speed, power, areodynamics, handling capabilities, and sheer driveability of a Dodge Viper, heck, even a Stealth. The old car may look super cool loosing, but it will still loose.
I've pointed out in a previous post that "these things are old" is the worst argument I've seen. These new fighters didn't exist at all until they were drawn for the FX in the movie, and they are only "old" by the timeline of the movies compared to the "timeline" of SWG. In reality these are - by definition - new ships. If you're going to argue that they are old and should be poorer for it because they are old in the canon, then you're going to have to start demanding a lot of other changes - like no Jedi for openers. I also pointed out that technology - if we're being 'real' here - doesn't necessarily move forward in a steady stream, and a timespan of 20-30 years doesn't mandate that an older item is completely obsolete. For real life examples look at the F-14 or for non-military aircraft consider the Boeing 747. The technology of the components have improved dramatically, but the basic airframe remains the same.
And as for being ignorant, the only ignorant one here is the person who cannot keep this civil. I have been presenting my side in a very calm logical manner, you could at least summon up the common decency to do the same.
No one ever ended a fight by participating in it. Don't feed the trolls.

I mean the .95 speed mod on the Eta-2, for instance. A 100-speed engine in this ship will give you a max speed of 950, whereas in an A-Wing, it will top out at 1000. Say your engine PYR is also 100. Is this modified by your chassis as well, such that an A-Wing's pitch at ideal throttle would be 100, but the Eta-2's would only be 95?
In other words, at the ideal throttle and once they're both turning as fast as they can go, will an A-Wing and a YT-1300 with identical engines turn at the same rate?
my eta-2 will hit the 90 degree angle of attack limiter (where your ship turns so hard it slows down to avoid slipping so much your flying backwards) from about 1/3 throttle all the way to full boost at 1795 speed.
