My number one issue: It's boring! I'm so bored with JTL I can't even motivate myself to finish the grind to master. There is no reason to go into space, other than going into space for the sake of it, which in turn renders the whole extension pointless.
Edit:
For good measurea couple more:
Fix the freelancer bandolier for Wookiees!
Mutliplayer ship utilisation, do one of the following:
- Create a new MP ships class, much like the Yacht in function, but with weapons. I.e. A Passenger ship, a ship you can set up like a house andwalk around inside(like other MP ships), but it doesn't NEED a crew.
OR
- Give current MP ships some useful fire control for the pilot from the cockpit (like forward locked guns in the absense of gunners, or an AI gunner for each turret, bymeans of a "gunning computer" or something).

Its not possible to inactivate/activate your mission.
Hence if you pick up the mission you'll have to avoid the system in question until when you want to do the mission.
Also prevent a group of players from all getting the same mission, helping each other out, then all going back to train and pick up new missions.
Currently you cant really advance syncronously with groupmembers, you'll always need to wait for the next person in group to go to ground, pick up mission, come back, find each other...
An active/inactive toggle on spacemissions would be a very welcome addition.

1. More cannon ships. We need those rebel medium transports you see leaving hoth, and some of the Mon Cal cruisers, some Assault Gunboats, etc. Most of us who used to play games from the old X-Wing series of games are missing most of the ships we're used to seeing. It would also be nice to have more background traffic in space. Attackable platforms would also be nice.
2. Master level content. All I can really do with Master Imperial Pilot is to grab the tier 4 duty missions, which, for Black Epsilon, don't even give me the option of going against rebels. The grind to master is fun, but there needs to be more at the top.
3. Increase the number of ships in the datapad. I would like to be able to have a MP ship, a two seater (TIE Aggressor), a good PvE ship (TIE Oppressor), and a good PvP ship (TIE Advanced) at the same time. Even if I had to start using lots for all ships, I could deal with that (at least until I run out of space for parts to RE).
4. Weapon Convergence. I just started a rebel pilot alt, and it's really hard to hit anything with those wing lasers on a Z-95, and I suspect several other ships have the same issue.

1) NPC ships with turrets still firing turrets after reactor has been disabled.
2) NPC ships with turrets having almost near perfect accuracy.

I am an Imperial squadron leader in my guild, soon to become a wing commander, and I've been arranging pvp events with a rebel guild. We devised a set of rules, but it's such a hassle to make sure no one cheats. The main rule is that everyone is limited to level 3 weapons. I did some math and this comes out to around 60% damage reduction versus my normal tier 9 and 10 weapons. We choose to do this because we don't want one-shot kills. We want fair fights and fun for all. It helps us wait for new content and the CU. I'm not saying lower PVP damage by 60%, but I strongly recommend a 50% damage reduction in pvp. It's much more enjoyable to actually dogfight than it is to make it a game of 'who sees who first.' Right now, if I used my true loadout, I could probably kill most people in maybe two or three shots. With our level three weapons (granted, the rebels get to use three since their x-wings can hold that many), an actual dogfight can occur. Other self-imposed rules are no warheads...largely because of the lag exploit and somewhat because it's a cheap kill.
What I would like to see are actual missions. Let us join the Imperial Navy and actually do our job. Have merchant traffic pass through the domestic sectors. If we happen to scan a cargo ship and discover narcotics, we receive orders to disable it while the local Imperial station sends out a troop transport to board the ship and fine the owner/confiscate their cargo (just like TIE Fighter). Perhaps we would receive some FP for stopping the smuggler. This could even be integrated into a player versus player type event. Allow *real* smugglers to transport various cargo (both legal and contraband). If we catch them carrying contraband, they become attackable..like a TEF of sorts. If we destroy the ship instead of disabling them, we might lose FP and get fined. This should discourage griefing. It would be nice to see, rather than static pirates, a pirate armada hyper into Naboo space and terrorize the merchant fleets. We would receive orders to protect the merchants. Perhaps a storyline could even develop where 'Imperial Intelligence has discovered a pirate staging area. You are ordered to report to (insert waypoint) and eliminate the threat.' Except that *all* Imperials in space would receive the message. We would fly to the location to find a well-defended space station. What we need is more content along the lines of TIE Fighter and XWA. I'd kill for a chance to get a job working on this stuff.

Issues:
1) Allow a pet or droid to take the helm of the yatch when flying on auto-pilot. (this would allow us to exit the hot-seat and enjoy the view of space when traveling)
2) Same as one, but allow the pet/droid to control the turrent on the mulit-player ships
3) more ships (?) not just factional, but universal ships (meaning all players can fly them with just novice pilot skills (much like the yatch but can be attcked and upgraded)
4) "More missions" I like the spacestation duties you can pick from, but would like groundgame profession specific missions. (like smuggling missions for Smugglers, space mining missions for Artisans, and so-on and so-forth)

Being not much of a non-combatant at the time and leviling the Tatiooine freelance pilot missions and having to go through Jabbas palace is a pain. I didnt have any combat skills and the trainer is in the center of the palace!

Just keepin this thread rolling..
A lot of good ideas brough up so far..
For me. JTL is an excellent start.. but feels unfinished. Oh, i'm not having a go at the devs by any means, I think they've done a fantastic job with the JTL ships and the core systems. The system for GETTING master pilot is excellent, love the mission thing, and there are some things to do once you get your new jacket, but space in general could be a lot more interesting than it currently is.
I think missions is probably the way to go.. Have those freighters that we see floating around, give us Missions. How about some death star remains to fly around ?.. Bespin could be added, complete with Lando.
What about this "Kessel Run" that Han is so keen to tell us he's good at.. Maybe it could be a space race, complete with a dense asteroid field to navigate..
Perhaps we could have asteroids big enough to fly around, complete with space worms to kill.
The possibilites really are endless.. (a bit like space really .. )
Oh, it'll happen. I've played MMORPG's for years, and devs know that to keep the player base active, they need to keep adding stuff, which is what part of our subs goes to. It just takes time..
If you get bored.. then invest in the Station-pass thingy.. and go run around Planetside for a few weeks, or indulge in a little EQ2ing..
Hmm... now that i've given SOE some free advertising... I'm gonna go to bed and dream of a world that will give me free money for playing games...

I know it's not a game-breaker, but I'd really like to see the 7.5 million XP fulfill the Master box requirements. There are some servers (Corbantis, I'm looking at you) where space grouping is virtually impossible -- there's no one in the skies, and no one willing to go up. (Hey, if I'm wrong, please tell me!!) There's certainly a precedent in the game for uber-grinding leading to mastery, so I'm not sure why pilot should be any different. Being eternally trapped at 4/4/4/4 while I dream of my second mastery badge is just no fun at all.
I suppose I could figure out how to solo the corvette...but is that what the designers intended? Prolly not.

my top issue is quite simple. pvp damage needs to be lowered. i'd say by at least 50%.
