Thread: ROTW ships: How would you correct them?

Dont forget that these are still mostly reward ships. Its not like you can easily get out and get another, unless your willing to pay 5 million+. Granted these ships are rediculosly good, and should be taken down a notch, but the suggestions being posted here threaten to render these ships useless. They should still be good ships. But having one shouldnt mean "i win JTL".
In defence of starter ships, which are our only crafted ships is that they really arent that good. They're pretty weak, not that maunverable, thier only saving grace is a good amount of mass. These ships are cool, because they make using them as a master pilot viable, but only with pimped out equipment. I think this is what they where convieved for and thats the way they should be. However they have no business being used by novice pilots. They should be moved to tier 4 or master.
Decay really isn't an issue for the ROTW ships. Anyone with access to Deep Space can avoid decay at all times, plus as Attacca pointed out, even if you chassis decays all the way down, it still works just fine. On top of that the Belb22 can be farmed over an over so you can always get a new one of those. As for the suggested nerfs in this thread, I haven't seen barely any that would make the JSF and Belb22 worthless. Lowering their mass to 60k would still make them very usefull ships. They would still have better manueverability than an A-wing or TIE Advanced, plus they'd have a smaller hitbox. The goal with the ROTW ships shouldn't be to make any ships obselete, the goal should be to introduce ships that are simply different than the pre-ROTW ships.
As for the Heavy Z-95, Heavy Scyk, and Heavy TIE, they are not weak in the least. They have incredible manueverability, high mass, and their hitboxes are still pretty small.
Sorry, I agree that something needs to be done to balance the ROTW ships into proper roles, but dude, you SAW them in episode III.. its not like theyre dev made ships or something *cough*freelance*cough*
Fair enough, and if this game took place in the Episode III timeline I'd be fine with them. We're decades ahead though, in the galactic civil war - where I didn't see a single film Republic era starfigther. The VAST majority of fighters in the field should be standard navy issues ones as seen in the original trilogy, with the potential for a few wildcards thrown in here or there. This isn't going to happen when there's no reason to fly the OT ships at all. Bringing them into a niche would do a lot to fix this, and their presence wouldn't be nearly as pervasive as it is now.
