Thread: Anyone else still angry?
When i thnk of all the longstanding bugs (from minor to severe) that have gone unfixed, ignored exploitation that goes unfixed (still), incomplete features in the game as a whole( *cough* smuggler) to the fubar'ed state of my character (go me, im the uber pilot profession some ppl wanted *rolls eyes* ) to their craptastic customer service, ....i gotta tell ya, that expansion announcement got a, "oh, no freaking wonder" outta me, followed by my head exploding like a teapot left to boil too long.
Anyone else hearing an old 1980s tune by a group called The Clash in their head? Name that tune if ya do

Dunno which one you're thinking of, but you stuck:

And then I got an image in my head of a vaksai dropping down and vaporizing Austin, Texas. And then finishing off the rest of Texas before swooping by my hometown, the bug-eyed alien stopping in front of me to pop open the cockpit and to grin and wave at me, and then shooting back up into space.
The alien would go and shoot more starships in the hopes of salvaging more engines, and I... I would go buy a couple bottles of whiskey.

I'm pretty sure he meant "Should I Stay or Should I Go?"
I'm looking at it this way, no new movies will be coming out. The only other thing that might get released is a 1 to 3 box and a 1 to 6 box. This is the last chance for SOE to ride on a release. I've seen quite a few new people around with RotW, and since players are the lifeblood of a MMO that is a good thing.
So, A: last prequel expansion and B: few more players padding the servers.
Can't wait for the threads to pop up when they announce you get all 3 expansions + the game for $24.95
I'm...uncertain. Dang I like flying, and no other MMO offers this, unfortunately. I've about had it with SOE though, been putting up with their crap since EQ launched. Anyone remember the Luclin release?
I think I'll see how the release goes, if they fix anything else. I'm curious about capitol ships, and I want to see how those come out at least. Although if that takes too long, I'm not hanging around for them to keep dangling the carrot.

Something tells me that we are going to have more pre episode IV content synergy releases in the fugure.
Though thankfully the releases should be less Jedi-centric and more... uhm... cool. I'm hoping for more Classic Trilogy/Farscapeishness out of this than Episode I-III-ishness..
So, call me cynical (because ive truly grown to be that way), but i dont think sony well ever address JTLs more outstanding issues (letalone any GCW endgame) anytime soon. The whole reason im in SWG at all was for JTL. My point here is, what we have now in JTL, is all there is, and more likely then not, all there is ever going to be. So is what we have now, worth staying around for?
( And i know someone will mention it, capital ships. Even IF they added them, what do we have? Another POB that hardly anyone uses will be my guess. )
As an aside, i wish i had moved to Starsider. Valcyns utterly dead now for some reason. But i am most certainly NOT giving sony another 50 dollars to do something they coudlnt even do right THE FIRST TIME! Doubly so after the real reason for neglection was announced.
It could be as simple as saying. "Well I guess I just won't by it. No harm right?" But you and I know it ain't that simple. Of course SOE and LA will promise us it will be tested and bug free. They will say we will get enough beta testing to catch the bugs. Who wants to bet it will be less than a month? Can I get less than two weeks? Since this is a tie in with the DVD release IT WILL BE PUSHED LIVE even if it's mostly unplayable. They did this with ROTW. IT WILL BE PUSHED LIVE and they will try to catch up with all the bugs. Then we know what will happen. The lava crystal quest will be bugged and the jedi will flip out. "How dare they bug our content. "We deserver Lava Saborz because we grinded all that xp!!!!!" As they scramble to appease their favorite children the fabled smugglers revamp will be forgotten again. Not a dev will speak of the Galactic Civil War re-vamp. The Y-8 and all our bugged content will be ignored. All so some kids can have an orange saber that will ammuse them for about five minutes.
For whatever reason SWG has always been worse off than other SOE games, when it comes to bug fixes and failed promises. It took what, over a year for the fabeled CU? How long have they been tossing around GCW updates?
Sadly the only way JTL will get an update is if more people (jedi?) start flying. Only way that'll happen is if they tune it up and give some more reasons to fly (besides 'fun').
