just wondering are the engines on an ISD a blind spot like in the movies? cause id love to see how many credits its death is worth lol. tempted to use one of my expedable fighters and find out hehe.

Unless it's changed, or I'm totally uninformed, the SD does not grant credits for a kill. The rebel space station used to, and then they changed it. Until its further nerfing, to the point that it couldn't even be damaged, it would only give 10 loot parts. I assume that the current case is the same with the SD.

Now, why the SD can be destroyed and the rebel station can't is beyond me.

The ISD grants quite a few credits, around 15-20k. Freedom Station, the last time I blew it, dropped a few K in credits and a bunch of low end parts.

The engines are not blind, there are many turrets back there. It's the worst part for lag, in fact.

The lag is an issue because client-side, laser blasts are not destroyed on contact with a collision zone. Instead, they fly through, replicating another shield hit effect for every frame generated. When 50-100 turrets are all shooting at the same thing, all shooting THROUGH the SD and its collision zone, and each individual shot is replicating at least one extra hit effect...yes, that's why the back of the SD can be the choppiest.

The ISD is easy enough to solo anyway. and you can't just sit on it's tail to kill it. you have to make strafing runs, and actually hit the right part of it. start by taking out the primary and secondary shild things on the top, then one of the engines, then the reactor, and finally the bridge which will blow the whole thing up.

Those domes aren't shields, they're sensor arrays.

In SWG, they might be shield generators, just like how on SWG the TIE Fighter of the Line has the designation "TIE/in" when it should be "TIE/ln" (/in is for the Interceptor), but they're (not sure if it's canon or not) sensor arrays.

That could've been a mistype. The smaller construct directly on top of the bridge, between the domes, was the communications and sensor array according to the guild to vehicles and vessels (I'll check on that when I get home). In every reference to star destroyers, in the movies, books, and games, both domes have been shield generators, and had nothing to do with commincations or sensors.

Those craft blueprint or what-have-you books have been proven to be inaccurate and inconsistent with Lucas or film canon. Starwars.com says they're sensor / comm arrays, so they're comm arrays. Not shields. The main reason they're considered shields is the scene in RotJ where one of the domes explode on a Star Destroyer and Ackbar makes a comment about the SD's shields going down. It's a coincidence. They aren't shields. The Empire doesn't have dumbasses making their ships, and nobody but an absolute dumbass puts shield generators way out on top of the bridge on stilts. STILTS!

Actually, the Star Wars site reads "communication and deflection domes," and even so, are you seriously going to trust a misplaced word on a franchise-**edit** site like starwars.com when EVERY PIECE of Star Wars history eitherh now or previously in circulation said differently? Read the books, play the games, and yes, watch that odd "coincidence" in ROTJ...those are shield generators, and they're always going to be shield generators whether you like it or not.
