So I've been master pilot for a few days now...and I feel like there's nothing to do...no way to advance...no content.
I haven't even bothered playing the game for the last few days because it's so boring at the top.

Drop it and do it again. I'm strongly considering doing that myself. Sad that there isn't much else, isn't it?

I have fun:
- helping other pilots on missions. As a CorSec pilot, if I meet the right people, I can play through all the pilot missions of all squads with master level equipment
- shoot random spawns, great way to make cash
- Improve my ship. I'm going to see just what a Dunlizard is really capable of. I keep checking vendors and looted equipment, and try to collect various looted stuff to have RE'd to see how good I can get my ship, it's a fun little project, kinda like building a muscle car or somthing...
- space mining Some people say they find it borring, but again it's a great way to earn credits. With the NPC stations that buy it, even if other players don't want what you mine it's still a great way to earn money (Now, if NPC's bought hide and bone I'd be downright rich....)
- There's always Deep Space... Our guild is tossing around an idea about using Y8's as capitol ships and dividing into sides and trying to take out the other sides capitol ship... or something like that... it's only a loose idea right now....
- Space decorating! I'm customizing the interior of both my YT-1300 and Y8. Even if it's just me in the thing, it's still fun to RP about what this thing is, or what that thing could be used for..... (yeah, I'm weird, but it's easy to keep myself entertained....
)
- Again, just something that I find entertaining.... As a CorSec pilot (i.e. Space Cop) I get a big kick out of shooting up random frieghters for a few credits....

Ace Pilot / Master pilot is only a title, not a measure of skill. Work on improving your skills so that it is also a measure of your ability. Anyone can run through the missions in a group and then just be "present" when a real ace blows the vette for someone else to become an ace in title. The skill, is learning to blow the vette on your own w/ no help. How about "turner" gunboats, can you solo those? Up for a real challenge, if you have ROTW, look for some of the "super" gunboats that are agile, quick, chase you and shoot close to 1000m (while your guns only shoot 532m) in Kashyyyk. Help other pilots w/ missions (already mentioned). Improve your ship components (already mentioned). Try PvP...completely different than PvE. Drop your faction and master another at double XP (already mentioned). Space mining (already mentioned), which I find boring, but I'll pay you 20 to 30cpu for the stuff on Bria to help my Shipwright business out.
Personally, I find improving my ship and helping others to be very rewarding. I learned to solo the vette last week and have since helped 6 pilots achieve the rank of ace by blowing the vette for them this past weekend. Now my goal is to kill the vette faster than present, which isn't too quick and not exactly graceful. But that is just me an my desire to get better. There are people that can solo the entire vette and its escorts in less than 3 minutes, try and top it.
There are MANY areas left for which you can devote your time. Now that you've reached the rank of master by grinding through the missions, YOU now get to choose what you do...not want some NPC tells you to do. My point, push yourself to be the best you can be, as this is an online environment and not a simple run through the missions and then the game is over type of game. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Like so many other things, being a Master Pilot is what you make of it.
Once you can kill the Vette, try it in a Y-wing (rebel obviously), take every ship you've ever used and put it through its paces until you have truly mastered every ship in your class.
PVP in a Z-95, Scyk or Tier 1 TIE just to see how much of a studmuffin you really are. Organize strike missions with Lesser Mortals! You are a Master after all. Lead a group against a Star Destroyer in Deep Space.
Then there are the roleplay possibilities with the POB ships. Rescue missions, parties, transporting strike teams into hostile territory, group mining missions.
And, of course, helping other characters master the craft.
Being a master in the strictest definition means that one would be taking on "apprentices" to train in your style of flying. Just like a Jedi Master trains Padawan.
How many masters does anyone who isn't in the same guild really know about? Very few I'd wager. Master is the first step toward becoming a Legend. Famous, infamous, revered or feared. It's all in the way you play.
There are many masters, but few can ever be among THE MASTERS. Those who are truly exceptional and who strive to help others to become so as well.
Master Pilot is a rank, nothing more. It's a well earned accomplishment to be sure, but things don't end there. If you can't find content, create it. You now have the skills and an infinite palette to play with. There is so much more that can be done if people choose to play to that.
I want to see someone solo the Vette in a Tier 1 Scyk. Have all the bells and whistles that that chassis can carry, but it's still a Tier 1 ship. Now, that would be legendary.

Yeah, I've got to learn how to take that thing on too...
One of the guy's in our guild, the night I mastered, soloed the vette in a heavy X-wing with the chassis at zero (he was flying around with flames spouting out all over the ship)... he didn't get hit once....
I doubt I'll ever be that good, but I've got something to strive for.....

"infinite pallette"?
Are we playing the same game, cuz that sounds more like the old Privateer..or maybe the watered down version known as Freelancer...

Solo'ing the vette is an impressive feat... but I solo'd the Imperial Star Destroyer in Deep Space the other day. My little JSF, R2 and I found it completely intact and worked it the same way as a vette. I died once in the process, but I took out the shields, backup shields, engines, reactor and bridge by myself. Want to impress people... post your screen shots of flying over it as it blows up... I dropped them on our guild website, which unfortunately down right now...
There is content beyond master... but most of it involves helping more junior pilots. I am about to drop master RSF and do one of the rebel squadrons.

Become a space miner, did you know there are very rareloot drops called 'chunks'. These chunks are for the new textures. I am sure there is a demand for 'roids anyway. My current goal is to get 5k of every 'roid out there for my guild sw. My old xwing was named 'ORION' after the hunter, I had to rename her"DIGGER" the Miner
. I didn't notice what faction you are, but if you have a ship with 3 cannon hardpoints they become the perfect mine'n ship. One for mine'n laser, one for tractor beam, and one for a cannon. All ways go overt when in space. Funny story, the other day I saw a red blip trying to sneek up on me, he must have thought 'A miner, easy pick'ns'....heheh to his surprise 'ole DIGGER has a 2.4k shield and a lvl 8 re'd cannon....hehehe boom.

I've tried mining, but I'm a fighter at heart and I hate shooting at rocks.
Besides, unless there's a nifticool texture for my JSF, I don't care.
The only reason I haven't dropped Ace Corsec yet is because of my JSF, I..just don't know if I can live without it, I love it so much. *snuggles with the JSF*
What?
