Hi,
recently i tried to work on the master-corvette a couple of times and failed miserably.
Mosttimes i approach it, i get destroyed before even coming in range for my weapons.
I try to fly from behind/under the corvette but i constantly take hits.
I used CTSS4 and reinforced front shields but i cant get a lock for my missiles in time.
What do i have to do to avoid some hits? Rolling or pitching or something else ? If i do
a couple of maneuvers i take less hits but i also cant get clear shots or a lock on the missile.
Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

What are you flying? If you're not in an awing/JSF/Belbullab or other small-hitbox fighter you'll takea lot more damage. Dont bother with the shield routines, they arent worth it really.
To answer your question directly, the best way to avoid fire is to corkscrew - roll while pitching and yawing. Really makes it hard for the AI to land a blow on you. Practice flying towards a waypoint while corkscrewing to get used to how it feels to approach a target off-vector that way. That being said, the Vette probably will still hit you, and its weapons hurt hard. The best strategy for taking the Vette, as its posted in the FAQ and the many Vette guides in the stickies, is to come up straight behind its engines, where it cant shoot you. You can get a lock on the shields from behind, then use your blasters to disable its engines, then finish off with your missiles.

Stay on the bottom side of the corvette. By doing so you will only be shot at by two weapons at any given time. Effective corvette gun range is appoximately 2000 meters.
To find out which side of the corvette is the bottom target gun 5 and approach and exit from that side only.
If you take out gun 5 first. Then 6 and 7 you'll take out all guns that can shoot out the bottom side of the corvette.

If you're trying to take out gun 5, don't worry about missles, just use blasters. And make sure you're coming at it from the bottom. Put the fastest engine you can in your ship. And make sure you're targeting the separate components.

Thanks for the replys.
Till now i used my heavy X-Wing. I think i will give it a try with the bellbulab and practice some corkscrewing.
The strategy we used was basicly shooting spacebombs at weapon 5, primary and secondary shield. Then blasting the engine. It only worked once yet with another group doing the same.

I usually go for Gun4, shunt, recharge cap. And dive back in for Gun5. Turn and take out gun 6or 7.
Then you have a blindside. But ifyoure going with missiles only, use 2 image rec2's. Leave the guns.

I dare to correct, the guns have a max. range of 1k, no more. But as your own guns are limited to a bit over 500m, you definitely have to dodge fire for a while to get in range.
And as a personal note, i found corkscrews not even that suitable for the job, i rather approach from a low trajectory (so, somewhat behind and below the vette) for gun 5, and keep adjusting course to the left and right with small corrections up and down.
Considering that this works pretty fine when using my krayt (oki, i occasionally take a hit, but that's what i have shields for...) i assume that it can be done with about any ship. On the rest, i can only agree, first gun 5. Then 6 and 7, as they can fire below, but have severely limited fields of fire, so are not that big a threat.
For the rest, i can kill the vette with my krayt and without bomber strike or missiles... and comparing to many other pilots around, i am definitely no more than a mediocre pilot. The vette actually, as soon as the mentioned guns are removed, has a significant "blind area" a bit outwards of the mounts of gun 6 and 7... if you assume those positions, you can fire at the remaining guns without them shooting back. (Be prepared to get trashed a few times before you can stick well in those blind spots, though.)
If you don't want to invest the time (and the durability of your gear), follow the great guides in this forum, as others before already stated.

Starting with Gun4? Yay, you must be good... that gun is "covered" by the Guns 0 -3, so you're hammering your way through fire from 5 guns. I am impressed.

If you can time it right, make a sharp move/jink a split second before you expect the gun to fire and it will go wide every time (only jink for a split second but keep flying straight, the ship fires off 'ahead' of you so they will shoot to the side of you). I do it all the time against gun5's everywhere
can take it out no probs with never more than 1 hit in any ship.
When i was bored once i ran straffing runs against the 'bad' side of the vette taking out the guns the hard way, with this techniquei could make a pass with only 1000-1500 shield damage, which is an easy shunt.
Also just a fyi, gun 4, 5, 6 and 7 are the hard hitters the other 4 area pretty weak really.

Space bombs take forever to lock up, use something else. For that matter, using the Heavy X shouldn't be a problem, I did it not too long ago in a Y-Wing LP...

Speed is very important here. Get an engine with droid commands that enables you to maintain a speed of 1200 or so. Never fly in a straight line. After some experimenting, I've found that making an "X" on your target with your crosshairs, or basically drawing a figure 8 makes you near unhittable by the vette's guns as long as your "X" or "8" is big enough. It may take some practice to learn to fire your guns exactly at the center, or where the lines cross over your target, but once you get it down, you'll find you can damage such targets fairly efficiently without wasting time regenerating shields and such. This technique works better with even numbered guns, or high damagehigh refire instead oflow refire low damage.

I almost always have killed vetts in my bell 22 but the other day i was called out to help some guy and i was in my vaksia... i thought about changing my ships out but then i remembered i have a top speed of 1680 w/o boost so i should be fine... long story short helll yeah !!! hitting boost and comming in at 2k spd taking out a few guns on one pass and leaving with out a single hit on your shields...

I took on both the master vette and the Kashyyyk vette the same way in the standard and heavy X wing's. Target gun 5 and aproach the ship perpendicular to her centerline with gun 5 in your sights. Use guns an take out gun 5. Gun 6 will automaticaly target next. If you have room shoot it. If not dive away and boost keeping the bottom of the vette to your back and shield shunt as needed. Reduce speed to get a faster rate of turn then full speed back at the vette. Finnish off 6 and 7. Torpedo the sheilds. Fall back and shoot the engines. Hit the bridge and enjoy your new Ace helmet and thecredit reward.

I use the JSF and good engines.
Did the missionmany times, barely get hit by the corvette, the gunboats are a problem if you dont disable them first and they do they twirly dance routine.
Small ship and fast engines seem to be the trick.
Read the guide from the faq, take out turret 5 and you are golden.
