Can you not go declare rebel, shoot down ships outside of DS and get the 30k reb prestige?

No i tried that as well. Like i said the CSR told me that freelace pilots can not gain Faction points in deep space. I dont understand the reasoning behind this at all and im extremly pi**ed off that freelance pilots dont get this nice perk that the other pilots do.

So here i am a master freelance pilot working for the rebellion. I decided to take a trip to deep space to kill the Star Destroyer a few times to collect the 500 Faction points you get from killing it. I head over to the neutral station and go to deep space to fight for the rebellion. When i noticed i wasnt getting any fation points.

I figured that I probably just needed to go and declare at the rebel space station then head back in. SoI went and declared my my rebel faction and headed back to the nuetral deep space station when surprise, surprise the damn thing told me rebels weren't welcome there. So off I went to the rebel deep space station in the dantooine sector. Now Im being told I need 30k rebel prestige to enter through that station. Being a Freelance pilot I cant get that type of presige at all.

So i submitted a ticket asking how the hell could i get into Deep space while i was overt to collect some faction. The CSR replied to my ticket telling me the freelance pilots could not gain faction points what so ever in deepspace. I dont understand SOE's reasoning behind this decision not to grant Freelance pilots the ability to gain FP in deepspace. I mean did we do something to upset them. The whole reason I Mastered Freelance was to get the YT so i could feel like Han Solo flying for the rebellion.

Come on SOE unscrew this situation and allow us Freelance pilots the same privlages as the imperial and rebel pilots.

I wouldn't put absolute faith in something a CSR is telling you is "working as intended"...

True dat.

It actualy took two CSR's to answer my question. The first one basicly told me only master pilots with enough prestige could get into deep space. My response was simple "Well no Sh*t, you dont say".

I know I will piss off a few people but I agree with SOE on this. You had the choice of joining the faction in space or going neutral. By choosing to be neutral you gave up the right to collect faction points. If faction points and fighting for the rebellion was what you wanted to do, then you needed to JOIN THE REBEL FACTION IN SPACE. Sorry for the caps, but it seems obvious to me, if you go neutral, then you are neutral...no faction points. I am an Imperial on the ground, seriously considering switching to rebel, but I am a smugglers alliance ace in space specifically because I wanted to be neutral in the GCW as far as space goes. Imagine my excitement when I had to destroy an IMPERIAL corvette to get ace, and I am an IMP on the ground....but that is what I get for choosing neutral...so I accept it.

Just my thoughts, and you are entitled to your own.

Then can you please explain why I can go to a rebel base in regular space and declare myself rebel and then gain rebel faction points. This is how it is for both smuggler alliance and rebel pilots. When I enter deep space I once again half to decide which side I will be fighting for and once again be completely overt as a Rebel.

If what you say is true to how it should work then I should NOT have to pick a side before going to DS and be truly neutral in DS. However since I have to pick a side and be overt in DS then why should it be any different from when I am in regular space.

BTW when you went neutral you could have picked the RSF and went after the Rebel Vette or even the Corsec and had a choice.

In my opinion, this is the way it should work for Freelancers.

Imp. Oriented Freelancers (I always get the squadrons mixed up): Should be able to get Imp. faction points as they are not allowed to kill imp ships.

Rebel Oriented Freelancers: Should be able to get Rebel faction points as they are not allowed to kill Rebel ships.

The Smggler squadron: Should be able to get FP for both as they are allowed to shoot anything. It should all depend on the faction to which you belong in the ground. If you are imp on land, then you should be able to get imp faction and vice-versa. If you are not aligned to any faction on the ground, then you could say that you really don't have any need for FP.

If the deevs do not agree, ten they should give us a freelancer faction on the ground and create a FP system for that faction.

Yes but you have todecide which side you want to be on when you enter deep space. So it is impossiable for you to shot everything there like you can in Kessel. As Master Freelance Pilot you should know this. So when i go to Deep Space I can only chose to fight for the rebellion and thus I can not kill any rebel ships. So if I have to fight for that one side I should have the previlage of gaining faction points.

If your only a rebel or imperial pilot you may not understand what happens for Freelace pilots as they enter deep space. RSF pilots go into DS on the side of the imperial's. Smuggler Alliance enter to fight on the side of the Alliance. Corsec Pilots geta choice, however once they pick a side they can not kill any ships of the faction that they chose to fly for.

The lure of the YT-1300 was to much for me to resist. Beside Han Solo was able to gain Faction Points flying for the rebelion. He got enough points to be promoted to General.

My opinion for neutral pilots gone faction, is just that. Just like the han example that keeps floating about. The choice of neutral pilot should just mean that you wish to fly neutral ships for whatever faction becouse of whatever reasone: RP, tactical reasones, look of the ships and so on.

The underlying problem is how we enter DS. Because there are three different types of prestigue points (Rebel, Imperial, Pilot) is the limiting factor. The Rebels launch from a Rebel aligned station, Imperial from a Imperial aligned station, and Privateers from a truly neutral aligned station. One of two things need to change. Either the have one type of prestigue points or by the simple fact of going to DS and becoming PvP enabled follows the same rules as being overt in regular space.
