I'm almost ready for the Corvette, gonna try it solo. I'm currently flying a Bel-22 with about 1k mass left to spare. I don't have any armor loaded and I don't have a missile launcher. The missile launcher atleast seems necessary to solo the vette. I could get a Rihxyrk and have an extra 100k mass, better guns, armor, better shield maybe and a missile launcher, but alot less maneuverability.
Can I fit a missile launcher in under 1k mass? If not should I go with the Rix?

i solo-ed the vette in a JSF. no armor, no missiles. the bel-22 shouldn't be much different. just use EO3, WO3, wCO4, and spam Cap-shield shunt 4 and you should be fine

I managed the vette solo on my first attempt when I was mastering freelance. It's not as hard as it sounds. What I found is this: As long as you can corkscrew well and keep your head when all those blasts are whizzing past you, you will not need anything more than your blasters.
I just corkscrewed right on top of the vettes underside, took out gun 5, then sort of slid my ship into the gap in between the sides of the engines and took out each side gun, the boosted out. Took out shields by coming in from the front and slightly to the vettes underside to avoid the top guns, then just took the engine out, waited for the gunboats to go and did the rest. Did that in a JSF, but it can be easily done in anything that doesn't have a really, really sluggish turn speed.

I find that I can't corkscrew well without a joystick. I can do it and still hit stuff but I still seem to get hit. Anyway, I might try this in my Bel-22 here in a couple hours. Will let ya know how it goes.

When it comes to the Vette, the smaller the ship, the better. I tried a few times in the Rihxyrk and it soaks up almost every laser fired at it prompting a swift death.

I've done the Vette in X-Wing, Y-Wing LP, Rihk, and T/A, and never used missiles. I always found the hard part to be dealing with the escort - 7 T5 ships is a bit awkward, though it's worse when doing the Star Ravager and dealing with Aggressors.

I did it in my Bel-22. The escort was easy for me. Taking out gun 5, even with missiles was my problem.
Since I'm freelance, I started the fight with them being yellow to me. So I lined up a good shot, waited for the missile lock, then fired both guns and a missile, then did a corkscrew dive away from them. None of it did any damage :/ Oh well.

I did it in my rhixyrk - just stay in the blind spots of the corvette and gunboats, and be ready to manouver the hell outta there if they start to jink.

I taught myself to solo it in my krayt. like the above poster said use the blind spots. one word of warning. if the vette turns while your under it your screwed. the bigger ships cannot get away in time so time it carefully

The best way to do thevette is with help. there are 2 tier 5 gunboats escorting it, which makes it difficult to avoid fire because it is coming from 2 directions.

Once youve done the vettea few times and learn what to do... Its extremely easy... With or without missiles...
Ive personally killed it solo in every single ship save the Starters, the 19k TIE, the YT and Deci, Yes Ive killed it in Nova (and the ISD for that matter)
It just takes practice and some decent equipment
I think theres enough guides so I wont type yet another one...
