Though one of these days I'm going to beat you 1v1 Star! You're probably one of hte best pilots i've ever flown against.

Yeah #2 for sure. You should have seen it last night Tek. Me, Bic, and Malick were the only Imps. After the first round a storm knocks out Malick's connection. Bic and I, coordinating in our TS, procede to chew through 6 or 7 fighters to take back the waypoint. We continue to protect it, outnumbered by every wave that comes in.

Then we got all cocky about it on our TS...and some new guy show ups in an X-Wing and blows my cap out before I knew what was happening. I fly evasive and yell for help on TS. Bic lines up on the guy's tail and says he's got him. Then another new guy in an X-Wing comes out of nowhere and blows Bic to tiny pieces, and the two of them vape me before I can hyper. lol...it was a sobering experience

Just another lesson of why I always need to be #2.

3) Other

In any of my starfighters, I feel I am in the top 10% of pilots

My humility check: Flying my Krayt in DS. This is when I realize that I am not an uber pilot. I can handle huge odds vs the fighters, but the big ships end up getting me after awhile. The thing is just too big, and too slow. Maybe if I had an engine that allowed me to run about 200 faster, I might be ok but I get hit quite a bit on the way out almost every time, and no amount of jinking or spiraling seems to be helping me. Any tips are welcome, without hijacking the thread

I think my attitude shifts of the course of a session. I start fully expecting to die a lot of the time. Often in a fight, I'll have a 'hey this is going rreally well!' moment. It may be the ultimate hubris to say this, but there are times when I die and I can easily say I let it happen. I *gasp* get bored, or slow, or careless.

I'm waiting to finish my 'toon on Starsider before I answer this one.

Right now I'd have to say I fall into category #2.
I'm another one of those flying an 'inferior' ship normally, so I die a lot and yet I know I don't totally suck.

If a poisonous snake is dropped on top of you from a gyrocopter, don’t freak out and shoot your own driver with your arrow gun, making the vehicle lose control and blow up. Its probably just as scared as you are.

#3 for me, i've no opinion of myself as a pilot, as i'm not really in any position to judge. If someone complemented me i'd thank them, but i've not got any pre conceptions.

I have 2 PvP thought processes that are modified by were I fight PvP and what I fly. These are -

1. Never heard of this Imp scum, time to blow him up!

2. Heard of this Imp scum, time to blow them up!

These 2 thought processes generally take very little time to compute and im usually well into a suitable attack vector with boosters on to close the range, after a few seconds the Imp normally goes BOOM!

In Kessel, or any other non-free repair normal zone, my thought processes are the same with the caveat as i fly in blasting I cackle maniacly and shout "Take that in your fancy REed engine you blind as a bat faction farmer!"

In Kessel against a JSF/BSF (whilst in my stock Xwing), my thought processes are the same with the caveat as i fly in blasting I cackle maniacly and shout "Take that in your fancy REed engine and not so uber now chassis, you blind as a bat faction farmer!"

Against a RG Int, my thought processes are the same with the caveat as i fly in blasting I mumble, "where did i put those damn proton torpedos?"

I don't have a particular school of thought on PVP. I basically turn off the whole thinking process and point and shoot at the red targets and hope I live through it. As soon as you try to think about the situation, your dead.

I don't claim to be the best, or evan near the top of the chart, but I find I do alot better if i don't think at all.

You mean, you calm your thoughts and emotions and use some other means to enable you to fight effectively in space?
