I have been thinking about the same thing but I probably won't because I do too many hunts and quests with the guild.

My main is a Master Smuggler, Master Smuggler with just enough merchant to have two vendors. I kinda wish I would have respeced to Master Pistoleer or something. Master Smuggler is sure borked now.

I used to be a master sw was one for about 5 months i was smart enoght to get doulbe the experiance to master the master box incase i ever wanted to come back like for instance capitoks ships came . I was also some merchant and and high in combat fora master crafter. It was nice never having to buy crafted stuff making things for friends fine tunning your ship re your own stuff heck ieven got a free firespray cause i made one. I also made several sets of elite pob parts and made one of each part for my pob only costing about 250k - asteroid i mined all resources i used were 900 oq higer with everything needed for each differnt part high ut con pe ext. I could repair my pob in space with repair kits i made while in my pob with a crafting station .It does take alot of resources to master chasie grinding you can do it in a day if you have all resources or do i tin a few months like i did plus help with friens while constantly harvesting. I also did this while i was mastering pilot so i never had to pay for a ship exept maint on harvestors. I really never stocked my vendor much because we have no factory support to do it , But it is a good way to make money if you do it full time i usally did it only for myself guildies ,friends, OR people who telled me with something worht my time or a large order. If i were you and was a newb or low level i would make a ithorian or sullisterian charector because of their bonuses or you could spend a fortune on sw tapes . I was a wookiee so i really never got sw tapes i could of bought a full set at half price from a friend tho but they were human , I looked for a retiering wookie to sell me his with the money i made from selling the full human set bt never did.All in all being a sw rocks.

not sure if they changed it recently but as soon as you train the first skill that takes SW xp you'll lose all the banked xp you have except double of the skill you train. example, the first tier skills take 20k xp so you'll end up with only 40k xp banked after training 1 skill.

i know a few people that have combat and crafting professions on the same character. you won't have the extra defense, special attacks and the extra health from being level 80 but as long as you group with someone that's level 80 you should do ok with one elite combat master. i would think that TKM would be a good choice for the high defenses but you would lack a strong offense weapon that uses your tk defense/accuracy/speed skill mods, carbines would be good since you wouldn't outdamage the heavy hitters too easy(and pull aggro) in a group but would still pack enough punch to solo some stuff.

I do it and I find it works well. I'm Master Shipwright, Master Rifleman, xx44 Pistoleer. I didn't go with any merchant skills because all I do is orders for me, my friends, and the occasional custom order. With Master Rifleman and two trees in pistoleer that puts me at combat level 65 so I can still take part in ground combat as a damage dealer.

I'm Master SW / Master Smuggler / Artisan 4042 / Mercant 0002. CL 55

This is my alt, so being Mr. Uber wasn't my goal. Ihave a chance for fight or flight against about 90% of all mobs with my DL44 XT, so this works for me. With this setup, I can plant harveys on Dath and Endor. It's tricky, butI've done it. What I could never do is go 100% crafter. You can't move without incap / death.

hmmm....is it possible to unlock FS and go thru jedi till i can make an alt...then drop jedi? cuz if i could thatd b the best thing my alt would be all crafter and my main would prolly be a double elite mastery....i wont be a jedi tho

You can't drop Jedi and keep the alt, but you can stop with the 24 FS boxes and just keep those, plus do the Padawan trials. It's at the end of the Trials that you get an alt slot (and force bar, when I did it).
