/rant on

While farming for parts on the Evil Tyrant spawn lately I have had several people seek to push me off and generally drive me away from the area. Bumping my ship. Parking their ship either beside me or at times in front of my ship. Flying through the spawn. Trying to kill the ships at the same time. Seeking to outdamage me. And various actions designed to make me angry and leave. All things I regard as harassment.

While I don't think I have a right to this spawn anymore than anyone else I do think it is a first come first serve kind of deal. If asked I will share the spawn or even move on to others but tend to dig my heels in when pushed. Not once have these people simply asked me if they could use the spawn. I have rarely seen someone who can outdamage my X-wing and those that can can't move like it. I don't move in on others and expect the same kind of respect. I don't respond to this kind of behavior because it tends to encourage the children if they know it bothers you. I am usually done in 45 minutes and don't visit the area more than once a day. So I don't think I am being unreasonable to expect some civility and a degree of respect.

I would consider that harrassment, personally. Things like that make me wish everyone was PvP all the time.

That said, there are MANY spawns like that one, oddly most of them are not well documented. I really don't want to post my favorite three spots on a public forum because they're always empty when I go there - but they're always empty when I go there! Go exploring and look for other natural spawns with a high count of NPCs, and notice where they spawn at. You'll be surprised at what you find.

The other day i was doing a low level disable and inspect mission, it was about tier 1 (corsec maybe cant remeber). Anyway when i got to the waypoint there where a couple of idiots there killing them all, one in a RG Int and the other in a BSF.

I sent tell after tell saying that my mission was there and to stop killing my mission target. They just replied that it was a natural spawn and they could do what the want (they were a little ruder than that).

In the end, as a tier 1 pilot I had to outdamage them to disable one and start the dock before they could kill it.

Of course the CSR said kill stealing was not a problem as XP is shared on kills (he was tlaking about the ground too) despite my saying it was in space and a MISSION objective.

What kind of people camp a tier 1 target??????

I'm sorry that some people in this game are total jerks.

As for camping on spawns. Why not group together and share the experience? That seems like a fair solution.

So far as I know it is impossible to even damage mission specific ships....so your complaint really is sort of null. Everytime I've shown up to help someone with a mission that was in progress I got the huge buzzing sound during hits till i was in their group. As for why people would camp/kill tier 1's. Theres plenty of reasons....to get low lvl RE loot...to test out how a ship handles...and so on and so on.

You are wrong, when you have a "go to this place, look for this type of enemy, then disable and inspect it" mission, the targets you have to inspect are actuallyattackable by others.

in reply to last poster.... well in reply to the one that posted before someone wrote a reply at the same time as me

There are several missions where you have to kill or disable/inspect/dock with a certain ship from a natural spawn... I think I remember something with Binayre Pirates, Rebel/Imp spys, Adv Rebel Recon, Crystal smuggler... Actually there are many of these in the m issions of the various pilot profs...

That being said... once youve disabled a ship, there is no way another player can touch it.... it either gets destroyed by the one that disables it or selfdestruct after a certain time...

There are some mission targets that are damagable by everyone, they usually spawn again in like 5 minutes, but if you had higher tier people constantly blowing it up, preventing you from completing your mission, that seems to constitute griefing to me...

You've got a TIE fighter icon - call a /bstrike3 on one of the ships you're not attacking and hope one of the pilots clips one. Won't work if they're Imperial/RSF, though. Most decent pilots can handle a 15-on-1 engagement...it'll scare others off *cough*lazynodutyrunningrotwers*cough*.

Exactly, though i got some satisfaction from after 20 odd minutes by just outflying them and getting the disable.
