Thread: PvP Capable Heavy Z-95?
as far as programs, i run, engine OL3, cap OL3, reactor OL3, CTSS4, emergency shields, front and rear.
i hope the headhunter works as well as i hope, only drawback i see is its got a big hitbox

well personally i could care less about hitbox size, i just refuse to fly clone relic ships, i hate em....i think its because everyone flocks to them, makes me hate them
thats y u fly plane jane a-wings
fun little buggers.
u can squeeze a lv10re'd engine into a heavy z95 tho. i'm still trying to figure out how I can do this and still maintain a decent gun with WO4 and EO4.

If your aim is PvP, use a rapid fire crafted gun. The goal using a heavy Z95 is to imagine your Awing loadout, but with an upgraded engine and/or weapon. A crafted Mark 4 shield should do the trick.
Lvl 9 RE'd gun gives same basic effect and better effectiveness'

i do fly an A wing and i love it, but i feel that a bigger hitbox is worth it for the 30k mass increase from an A wing to a headhunter, plus the headhunter is really cool looking
At least it feels starwarsy, I'll be honest I'll be flying an advanced X wing until I get up and going or break down and get a server transfer for the parts to competitivly outfit a stock one
I might try a Heavy-95 setup one day but I admit I don't fancy the hitbox vs. central mounted weapon ships.
I'd go with a setup of re'd lvl 10 engine in order to haul that fat a$$ quicker, which may I add would be easier with the Z-95's awesome r,p,y acceleration which is over double that of an A-wing I believe.
Next would be a lvl 8 re'd weapon with a lvl 8 shield. I'd squeeze whatever I could in around that. In fact, I might even use a re'd QID ina z-95, but with that large hitbox, I'd be favouring the r,p,y rates of a good lvl 10 engine more as one of those would be more realistic in a heavy 95 than say an A-wing which'd majorly have to sacrifice 'somthing' to fit a lvl 10 engine inside and function.
I don't like the z-95's weapon spread though. In fact..I'd probably be inclined to do lvl 8 engine, lvl 8 shield and lvl 10 weapon so the shots I did land in pvp -really- hurt.

Option 1: The Big Hitting Bumblebee
These ships have some insane PYR ratios, compared to the higher level ships, so use that to your advantage.
In my Heavy TIE, it's loadout is:
Crafted Mk.I reactor with 12.5k generation (a ton for what I need)
RE'd level 2 capacitor, 1600 mass, 1248 energy, 32 regen
Pre-Nerf DI, 501 mass, 15.3 speed (granted, not everyone has that option, but a 500 mass crafted level 1 will do just fine, since shunt won't really be an option in this layout)
Crafted Mk.III Shield with 1400 f/b, mainly just for NPC ships, about 7.5k mass
RE'd level 10 engine, 40k mass, 82+ PYR
RE'd level 10 gun, 42k mass
Chaff Launcher, 860 mass
This still has a little bit of mass to spare, so might look into a bit higher on the shields, considering it's not quite enough mass for some armor.
Option 2: The Spray-N-Pray Bumblebee
This is built more around a quickfire gun, no where near the damage output per shot of a RE'd level 10, but will really kick out some quick shots.
Same as above, but switch out the gun for a crafted level 9 Ion Cannon, should be around 33k mass.
Use the remaining 10k mass to toss on a huge armor plate up front. That will provide you with a lot more protection and less likely chance of being one-shot killed. Or, you can go with a little smaller armor for a quicker DI.
Option 1 will die very easily in PvP, if you get hit. That's the key though. With the PYR ratios these Heavy ships have, they can outturn almost anything out there, even an A-wing, if done properly. This options serious advantage is that gun. Typically, one shot from it will so severely cripple your target, finishing them off will be easy.
Option 2 sacrifices a little of the raw damage per shot for some more protection. Sticking a 1800 armor plate on the front will let you survive most any single hit, save those big level 10 guns. The main reason for going with an Ion cannon over a blaster/disruptor is something I preach. 85%+ of your damage in PvP is done to shields, so focus on them. A blaster might look nicer, if you are going for a more roleplaying approach, but it'll never dish out the damage to shields that an Ion Cannon will. Most level 9 Ion's should be able to cut through any ships front shields in one hit, and firing 4 times a second will dish out some nice damage.
In the end, it's what you prefer, but these ships have a lot of room if you can get used to having just one gun. They are amazing in PvP once you get used to their quirks, and you'll be surprised (and surprise a lot of people) when you tear through JSF's in one hit. Or just sit on their tail while they futily try to get behind you.
