Post here if you want to see the Galactic cival war affected by JTL and vice versa. JTL has no real purpose behind it's PVP. I would like to see bases in space that each side can attack to effect the war on the planet. This would give JTL a seriously needed boost of interest. And could make for some exciting space battles more akin to the ones we see in the movies. I would really like to see some posts on this one, Let's send a message that we want to see JTL be something beyond X-wing vs Tie Fighter.

I support this idea! lets have naval combat be more important. Every major battle in all Star wars IS a naval battle

How odd, i was going to make a post complaining about just that. Lately the wind in my PvP sails hasn't been very strong lately. The thrill of a kill isn't enough for me. Im becoming less and less motivated to go overt as time goes on. Ya i could sit here and crow about having a nice kill/death ratio, but it's meaningless, i haven't accompished a damn thing.

Not only would I like to see such a system, I have an expectation that someday it will happen. Unfortunately, though, I do not expect that to come to pass until after all the 'habitable' ground worlds have been inducted into the system. Once that happens, it then seems that a space-based tracking/control system would be in line for implementation. Consider me a supporter, I'm just trying to be realistic about development time and priorities.

To me it seems like JTL has become totally seperate from the ground game. Other than credits/faction, JTL has no bearing on the ground. I would like to see it have an impact.

JTL does have a purpose... you can make alot of money by selling components you know you wont use straight to the chassis dealer. I make around 400-500k total if you add up the mission rewards, cash, and components sold in not to long of a time. Another nice thing is that you dont need to be buffed in space, so you can hope in and get to the action without having to fly out to Cnet, spend 15k, wait in line and then head back out only to have to drink brandy constantley and make sure you dont die or your buff doesnt wear off..

Well let me add a point of view from a phanatic role-player. Unlike some players of SWG and JTL, I am a die hard Star Wars fan living the fantasy of being in the worlds first, and a gamer enjoying an awesome game second. I am sure that all the Devs and staff of SWG who love the story of the expanded universe beyond the movies, thought of ways to try to tie JTL into the GCW. But there are some things to be cautious of.
The time-line and history of events from the movies and expanded universe of novalizations, linear games, comics, etc, have all added to the plot of the story. There are predetermined events and happenings in the future of places like Yavin 4, Dantooine, Dathomir and others. Although you can create a few missions to tie into the story of the large GCW and story, you cannot allow it to reign free. You cannot allow the players of JTL to influence the Imperial faction from winning, controlling, and eventually owning Yavin 4 for example, when a few years down the pipe, historic events from the New Republic (post Return of the Jedi government) take place and have full control of the "desserted" planet. And while it is fun to play Imp..the point has to be made that you guys lose. To the point of being radical pockets of powerless factionists here and there in a much larger Rebel controlled universe after the GCW. So having JTL influence events of the plot of the GCW has to be done with MUCH caution if it is to be introduced. But several creative missions that dont influence furture time line events would be a great welcome change to spice things up I agree.

I love JTLS but it is seperate from the ground game in many regards.
PVP is fun but there is no ranking system, no rewards (except taking out an actual player), and no habitable stations (yet I heard the expansion may include "1").
To bridge JTLS - SWG they need to go with "boarding parties" from ship to ship and on stations as well. Need to allow players to populate all types of stations like they do the cities (well cities in space
). Missions that go from ground to space to ground and so on would be a start.
I know much of this has been said (/beat deadhorse) but I had to vent.
Otherwise I love JTLS - SWG and hope to see it continue to grow into a better system.

Couldn't agree more here.
Maybe we could combine this idea with guild capital ships. Any single guild with a number of members could have a single capital ship. It would both serve as starship with hangars for alligned fighters and with decks to walk one and as a kind of space base. As they probably will be quite expensive they should have a vulnerability time so they can be attacked and be forced to retreat from a sector. While they are in the sector they add like a ground based special forces base to the factional pool.
That way space battles would have an impact on the ground PvP
As a roleplayer i like the idea of boarding parties too but as most multiplayer ships count as houses too there should be a command to allow the other player to dock and board. Otherwise the system could lead to possible griefing attempts.
I am also a bit worried about a ranking system. On the one hand it could help people showing off their kills... but it may also encourage arrogance, jealousity, egoism and rivaltry in space.
Most of the above ideas have been said already but it can't hurt repeating them

>>It would be cool (stay with me on this), if each guild were allow to place bases....
No thanks. SPace would be cluttered like the ground after that and we'd be flying in a lagfest. Gotta be another way.
