Thread: Massive Chimaera battle proves the jedi fighter and other new ships have totally broken space PvP!

Thats right, we had a massive PvP battle that just finished!

Out of the 30 or so imperials that were there - 95% of them were flying the JSF!

And in my heavily modded A-wing i only killed 10 of them for 6 deaths. Only thing that works against them is taking out their reactor with image recs and finishing them with guns.

With my pre-nerf lvl 6 reward i COULD NOT 1 on 1 kill more than 10% of the enemies. Space PvP is now no fun - to actually survive you need either the Z95 heavy, the grievous or the jebay fighter. Anything else is just a coffin with engines.

My favourite part of the game was always space - particularly PvP now it is totally unbalanced, broken and completely UNFUN!

I cant see any reason to go into DS ever again as the way things stand with the new fighters now.

Whoever designed these new fighters could not have ever played one PvP in space or they must be the most stupid individual on the planet to unbalance things in this manner!

It's about time we have something to match the speed of an Awing.

Anyway quit whining u won in the end, u got our IDS.

Barma

BTW it was never balanced to start with - jedi ships just allows us to keep up with your awing.

Don't fool yourself. It was a heck of a lot more balanced before than it is now. Everyone keeps missing the point that it's not just the JSF... it's all the new ships with their insane YPR values.

Speed has nothing to do with it. I'm all for the Empire getting an intereceptor/light fighter, so long as it's mass and YPR are balanced with all the other ships in the game taken into consideration.

And don't forget the JSF has 2x the weapon hard-points as well. For it's mass and fire-power, it needs it's YPR reduced significantly to balance it, at least to the level of the A-Wing (maybe a bit better). It's supposed to be a light fighter/interceptor that's very lightly armored; the 90k mass means you can throw that statement out the window and armor it like an assault fighter like the X-Wing.

Did I just miss something here? You killed 10 of them and they only got you 6 times and shows that they have a technologial advantage, right?

You have access to the heavy Z95...might have mothball the awing.

Stick to PvP outside of Deep Space. They're only gonna keep their new toys in DS for fear of loosing them due to decay.

Well i dont want to be egotistical but im a very good pilot, without the JSFs I would have expected to get 20+ kills with 3-5 deaths easy in that kind of furball!

The main problem is that battles like that happen once a year and the rest of the time its mostly 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 engagements which means now there is no point in me going into DS in an Awing as the JSF flys rings around it. IT is totally unbalanced, I went up against a pilot I normally get a 1:1 kill ratio with. He got me 100% of the time!

Yes you are right I do have access to the Z95 heavy, but I dont want it.

Call me strange but I want BALANCED ships that are a part of STAR WARS in this STAR WARS game.

Could be right about PvPing outside DS, but if you challenge any imps the response will be either:

1. No

or

2. Wait til i get my JSF

Its not about speed, its about manouverability!

The JSF has 50% more mass, TWICE the amanouverability and HALF the size of the Awing, that is not balance.

A good imperial pilot in an Opp or Adv will have no problem going toe-to-toe with an Awing. This shows the game WAS balanced, it is no longer. Why do i have to resign from my rebel squadron, go imp and get a JSF, to compete. this is meant to be personal skill based combat in space, not who has the best quest loot.

Plus just look at your Imp ships, the Advanced and the Interceptor are both MORE manouverable than the Awing, you could always use those to counter the Awing, yet all i ever see in DS are Opps. A good pilot picks the right equipment for the job, not the big shiny inferior toy.

And yes we did win in the end - but only cause of missiles, space PvP should never become about who has the most missile tubes.

And to prove that things were balanced - you look at the rebel side, Awings, Xwings, Ywings were all flying - you look at the imp side - 3 non JSFers and 30 odd JSFers. That tells me that the JSF is an "I WIN" button, if it wast not as many people would use it!

Your Opp was always more manouverable than my Awing mate!

Plus you can always shoot missiles against the Awing - it was what I was doing against all those JSFs.

But just look at our side of the battle we had loads of different ships flying you had loads of JSFs.

Its not like every PvP rebel flys an Awing, I would have taken my standard X up but i had a sneaking suspicion that all I would see would be JSFs!

I've found the most useful thing about the JSF is not its manouverabilty, its the size of the thing. At a guess its around 25% short, 25% thinner, and maybe 30% of the width of a A wing. Anyone who hasn't seen one, Here's mine next to a Tie fighter

A reduction in mass would be enough balance this with the pre Rotw ships, 60k mass would be good i think.
