Im really anxious for ROTW to go live. Lots of yummy things in there for us space cases, mining, new ships, upgraded ships, new sectors to explore, the list goes on.
But i gotta tell ya, im a little aprehensive too. JTL is bundled with ROTW as its required to play ROTW. So we're going to see, alot of new faces both in space and in the pilot/jtl forums once ROTW goes live.... or so im guessing. Heck, ive noticed an increase in new faces on the forums as it is already.
But to the point, people are going to try things out, and im guessing every little thing that we've gotten used to or have accepted in one way or another is gonna get dredged up all over again. What really worries me is the posts that you know are coming about PvP, ranging from damage to factional balance... .... eessshhhhhhhhh. *cringe* I think my might head will explode.
Hopefully we'll have enough sticky's and FAQ's to handle it all

I am a new face to JTL. Maybe you can hop on over and help me with my question?

Wait, see them again? You mean the ones that aren't still on the Forum front page?

I'm on a very active space server and I have a hard time seeing why more people coming to space would be a bad thing.
Not all of them will stay there.
The ones that do stay will be pilots, pretty much by definition.
Sure some 'tired' issues will get dredged back up again, but either they will be settled once the new batch of pilots gets more experienced... or the dredged up issues clearly needed dredging back up by new blood who didn't simply give up on issues due to being burnt out on them.
To me it sounds like a win/win. (This from someone who can barely fly near more than one other player ship due to increased lag.)
My only problem is space will soon be my only reason for playing. Which when I really think about it doesn't ACTUALLY change from my position now so its not that bad a thing.
As for the changes... I'm vibrating with anticipation. I can't wait. (btw, we have any mass estimates on the new ships yet?)

I agree wraith....more people will be in space...at first...but only the real pilots will remain there.
I look forward to seeing more than NPC's in wanderhome space....

more targets and more people to watch your a$$

Im not saying more people in space is a bad thing. Its a very good thing, and i want more people in space.
But i think what worries me is how errm "mass opinion" of the up-in-comings could end up effecting JTL somehow. Ever see a situation where the devs gave ppl what they demanded, and it ended up hurting the game in the long run?

You are right... but with a bit of effort we can get them to read FAQs and other informative threads so there won't be that much whining
At least I hope

I'm looking forward to space mining, and multipassenger ship specific components.

Keep in your clipboard for fast and easy pasting:
"Hi! Welcome to the Pilot Discussion Board! We love to see fresh meat new pilots and we're looking forward to seeing you up in space. As for your question concerning _________, please READ THE FREAKIN' STICKIES that have been helpfully posted at the top of each page."
If it'll make you feel any better, the new correspondent Tomo also spends time on the smuggler board, and you should see what happens to redundant questions there. ![]()

I'm a bit anxious about it too, but I guess overall it's a good thing.
To me, space is the last haven from some of the complete idiocy that exists on the ground. Just want the ground monkeys to stay put is all.
