What is this ship. I've seen it spawn twice while in space once i got owned by it trying to kill it the other time was while mining from about 3k away. What causes it to spawn or how often does it spawn? Has anyone killed this thing?

What tier is it? What space zone does it spawn in?
What is it's general shape?
I might have seen and owned this ship in battle before. I seem to recall a Tier 3 or 4 uniquely shaped POB-sized starship.

This is the Dark Eclipse
I'm not entirely sure what its for, but its a tier 5 gunboat type ship thats in the Dath system.

And yes i killed it, wasn't too bad, the same as most Tier 5 GB's.

I have seen it, I haven't attacked it. It looked far to scary for me at the time that I had seen it. I think I was barely entering Tier 4 at the time. I wouldn't mind bringing in a group to play "Whack-a-GB" on it though...

It's a pretty cool ship, especially to see. Got a nice explosion animation too. It's nothing hard though, it's got a few turrets, but take out one or two key ones and you can sit in the blind spot and blow it up.
Don't believe it's actually for anything other then fun.

Yeah its a fun little Tier 5 Cruiser 
It is in Dath space, usually flying around between the two Imperial Stations.
I was at it a few days a go, got the waypoints where it turns and enters / exits.. If I remember, then I will post them here when I get ingame.
It looks harder than it really is, best compared to the tier 5 Imp gunboat. quite fun actually, and a good break from the normal Tier 5

Yeah it spawns in Dath zone close to the Death Marked Mercenaries and Witchbloods. I think it spawns regularly at least every hour. It follows a fairly short path before it Despawns. Beautiful ship to look at.About as hard to blow up as other Tier 5 GBs . Doesn't drop anything special in the way of loot or credits. I usually try to kill it everytime I see it but if its close to the despawn loc it will poof on you even after you have engaged it.

Entry and exit might be the same, I was not paying too much attention at the time it spawned... but its defently going to hyper out at the Exit point.

Threads pop up on this ship from time to time, and I've done a lot of searching...but I don't think anyone has ever connected this ship to any lore. I'm always curious about it's existance myself.

Its actuallly called the DARK ECLIPSE WARLORD and there are different versions spawning out there from time to time. The ship always looks the same but sometimes when targetting it the information showing in the target box is not the same. Would be interesting to find out just who this Warlord is. He sure does like to talk back at you when he's under fire .
