Hi
Wouldn't it be nice if quest based and looted ships are actually usefull.
The Heavy X and JSF have a good mass but the ARC 170 (125K Mass) and Belbullab 22 (90K Mass)
are just pathetic.
IMO these ships should be tweaked (red. give them more mass) so you can equip them properly.
Who else agrees or disagrees with this?

jsf has 90k just like the belbullab. the vaksai is 150k, but only one gun slot. IGI is 80k i think, and one gun slot as well.
the only thing i dont get is how the 2 smaller ships (jsf/b-22) have the ability to hold 2 guns, while the igi tie and vaksai can not. and a fighter with 150k mass and only 1 slot seems pointless to me too =/ specially when a jsf/b-22 can hold 2 and are more manuverable

I agree that doesn't make sense. BTW, I think I confused the JSF with the Firespray (215K Mass?). I know there has to be a difference between a cruiser (5 million mass) and a light fighter but 90K mass just doesn't do the trick. At least for me it doesn't.

Yeah you are right. Doesnt make any sense.
Taking size as main consideration when calculating mass, the JSF/b22 should have like 30k mass =P
You know, before the dark times of RotW ships people were doing wonders with 65k mass... they still do them, but now seems pointless to anyone who just want the *best* ship.

If you can't make 90k worth of mass work for you, I suggest sticking with the ground game, you glowbat sucking moon-maiden.

Thanks for the insult. I feed on them haha. Last time I checked I bought JTL so I'm totally entitled to go into space whenever I want. I always hope I don't meet people like you there since they tend to spoil the fun I have in piloting. And why the saber envy? Please go back to your cave Troll.

I never wanted the best ship nor I will ever have the best ship. The only thing I want is to fly cool ships, shoot stuff and have fun. Now if any of experienced pilots could give tips how to make 90K mass work, I would be happy to try out their advise and see how it works for me. Thanks in advance.

Look... you are asking for more mass on ships that allready unbalance the space game to its limits, just because you didnt find a way to use 90k mass properly.
While I agree no discalifications are needed, you should have used the "search" option to know what is the opinion of the majority of the pilot community, and the state of the proffesion.

Now we are talking the same language
Since I think you dont want them to pvp, i'll give you some hints to make a decent pve ship.
mark IV shield: 1900+ protection, 16k mass
2 mark IV lasers: 0.65 refire, 14k mass (28k)
1 mark II reactor: 12k (+)generation, 1k mass
1 Mark III DI: 18 speed, 2.5k mass
1 mark III capacitator: 40+ recharge, 1k+ energy, 6k mass
1 chaff launcher: 1k mass
2 mark I armors: 300 HP, 1k mass
1 Mark V engine: 100 speed, 70/70/60 YPR, 33k mass
This should work

I would love to see more mass, yes. I asked for other people's opinions. (Does anyone agree or disagree with me?). It's not like I wanted to see only people who have the same opinion.
As far as balance concerned I only PVE so I cannot say anything about that. I think PVE is well balanced in space.
I'm not a very good pilot so there's always a challenge for me. I just felt like creating a new thread. If people want to respond it's cool, if they don't... it's cool too

I disagree
The belbullab and the JSF have more then enough mass, too easy to set them up with no real weaknesses.
The ARC 170 is harder to set up but with 125k mass I think I could set one up really nicely, not as nice as my advanced x wing but ships should serve different roles not all be the same except for looks.

Well with the vaksai you could fit in a cert 9 or 10 weapon and engine, you wouldn't be able to do that with the jsf/b-22. Personaly I'd still prefer to fly a jsf over the vaksai but it gives pilots different options in manuverable fighters that work differently(or at least set up differently), personaly I think that is very important.
Have you been flying long Orim ? Mass management takes a while to get the hang off and RE parts help hugely too. You might also be trying to put too many high level cert parts into the light fighters, which is the advantage that the heavy fighters get for sacrificed manuverable.

No i do not agree with you and yes i do think you should go back to the ground game if you cant work with the mass on the rotw ships or any other for that matter.
