Entertain me with your adventures in space! Please, I need a fix. Bria's been down more than she's been up. I'm not sure when I'll be able to actually fly my ships again. This is making for a not happy Treena. Give me entertaining tales to take my mind off of it.

I've got a story now!

I'm sitting in the SWG chat room, and they announce "Bria is up". So off I go to FINALLY get my Vette and make RSF Ace. Everything loads up normally, I start my overloads, and hyper off to Dathomir. About 2k from the station, "Connection to SWG lost". I immediately check my connection, everything is fine. When I get to character selection, I hit the create character button to see if I just lost my connection with SWG. What do I find? "Bria: Offline".

I'm so glad I left that place now. However, despite this, I log in today on SS, launch, fly to DeepSpace, load in and... "The server will be shutting down in 15 minutes. Please find a safe place to logout". So there I am thinking "Oh great", so I flew around, killed a few NPCs and flew out again. Seems that the game really doesn't want me to loot that lower mass lvl 8 gun I'm needing. In fact, I'd happily trade my last t4 reward shield for a lvl 8 un re'd weapon of 24k mass or below.

Its a shame really. Bria was so awesome when I first joined and even up until recently in my view. Maybe they should upgrade the Bria hamster to like...the Bria horse or like an army of hamsters just to keep those overpopulated cogs turning.

I spent about, 2 hours trying to do the Storm Squadron mission where you have to destroy a Tier 4 Courier back when I was green and had to use regular ships and dinky crafted parts and un-RE'd parts. I triedBomber strike after failed bomber strike, dived andtwisted, and still nothing. Itcaught mefinally and I blewup in a pile of debris and curse words.

But that wasn't the end. By some merciful, obscure bug, I found myself back at the Endor station but I was floating back out into space. I had no control of my ship or any interface to speak of. I had no idea where I was going so I thought it was just me being kicked in the groin after an already grueling two hours. Finally I ended up back at my mission and my interface returned. I was at full shields with zero damage to speak of so I went back to work. . . and died.

But no! SOE had not smited me yet, for I began to drift back towards my mission again. But this time, I defeated the Courier and finished my mission. I still don't know how that happend, nor has it happend since, but it saved me a lot of time and head trauma.

Back when I was in tier 2 rebel faction (I think it was tier 2), and hapily ignorant of my y-wings poor handling capabilities, I was doing a skill box mission where I had to rendezvous with, dockandprotect a rebel gunboat, taking care of wave after wave of tie fighters. Needless to say I was crap and wasafter a few wavesleft with zero shields, zero armor and disabled guns.

Staring into the face of my imminent destruction, to my luck, I managed to scoot in under the belly of the gunboat, and position me close to one of its guns. Here I sat, systems going offline on my ship, prayingthat this gunboat would protect little ol' me from the tiers I was sent out to destroy. And, it didsave me.

On the trip back to the space station I noticed, to my surprise, that I could actually hear the sound of my engine stuttering along, as if it was ready to give in any second. Quite amusing actually.

That's probably the space adventure that I remember most vividly.

I'll never forget thefirst time I helped someone do the heavy X-wing mission.

We had a group of veteran pilots, but I don't think any of us had managed to complete it before. I was flying the Actis, and the rest of our group was a mixture of the usual variety of craft seen on Starsider.

We did fine up until the two gunboats spawning. Me being the brave and foolish soul that I am, managed to aggro both and drew them away. I was dodging like mad, but they pounded on me until my shields and armor gave, and then my engine blew out.

With razor-sharp reflexes, I hit the IFF scramble key. Immediately both gunboats broke off and headed back towards the corvette. Fortunately, I had drawn them around six klicks away before I was knocked out of the fight, so the corvette managed a hyperspace jump successfully.

Disabled, I called for help--I needed someone to do a vrepairother so I could limp my ship to Deep Space for repairs. Pro came flying in in his X-wing to give me the vrepair...followed by both gunboats. I watched helplessly as my Actis blew up and was transported back to the Kashyyyk space station.

By this time, my specials timer had recycled and I managed a vrepair that got me to DS. But I'll never forget that "Oh, damn" moment as I watched those two gunboats chasing an X-wing bear down on me.

Well one time late at night I was doing the 30 Imps in Kessel for the Smuggler's Alliance pre-vette mission. While I'm doing it I notice the imp gunboats are at the exit spot so I kill them and note the time.

I decide that since I am so uber and can solo the vette I will stay up and try to make it to master tonight. I log on my alt for a while and craft when I get this BRILLIANT idea. Instead of taking the vette in my heavy scyk like usual I am going to do it in a Kimogila because, you know, they have more guns so it will be faster to kill the gunboats.

So about a half hour before the spawn I start shopping for a Kimo deed and all the components. Finally I put together something slap-shod and totally rickety but hey, its good enough for someone uber like me, right? Plus the vette is going to spawn any minute, so no time to worry about it now.

I finally hyper into Kessel with my new Kimo and that's about the time I realize I forgot to turn in my 30 Imps mission and get the Vette mission. DOH! This should have been my warning sign to log off and go to sleep, but nooo, I'm uber so I can solo the vette no problem in a rickety Kimo in the middle of the night while half asleep. No problem! Aha, I will disable the vette's engines and run to Corellia to get the vette quest then hurry back. Hopefully nobody else is in the zone to finish it off before I get back.

So I head towards the spawn point and there she is, Star Ravager. Woot, it must have JUST spawned, exactly 1 hour and 30 minutes after I killed the gunboats. Its already flying straight and the gunboats aren't jittery so its time for ACTION. Time to OWN THIS! So I line up under the vette and aim for the 5 gun. Hrm, I haven't had time to run engine overload yet, but weapon and reactor overload are done so engine will be ready to go any time now. No problem! I don't need engine overload to beat the fighters... and if I do its almost ready anyway. I'm uber!

That's when I start the fight, blam blam, haha, 3 guns rules. The 5 gun is vaporized almost instantly, time to bug out and pull the fighters where I can kill them safely. Hrm... what's this? I'm going too slow in this Kimo to outrun the fighters... oh no, shields dropping... VAPORIZED. Noooo, but I'm uber, this can't be happening! Ok, so maybe the Kimo was a mistake. Time to load up the heavy scyk and put this baby to rest. I still have time. So I run to Corellia and get the vette mission then haul butt back to Kessel.

Hrm, Star Ravager is halfway through the system, better work quickly. I fly in close and target a shield with missiles, no time to try it with blasters. Blam! Hit the booster to pull the fighters away. Turn to dogfight, grr, those Agressors. I'm getting hit no matter what I do. For some reason I can't grasp any kind of strategy to beat these fighters (Get some sleep, stupid!) So I slap the IFF button, ahhh, so sneaky. Ok lets line up and blast these shields. I fly up under the vette and take aim, blam! ....hey wait, I didn't fly UNDER the vette, I just flew OVER it!! VAPORIZED.

Hello Dathomir station... oh... you don't have enough parts to repair me 100%? Zzzzoooom, Hello Naboo station. Ok back to Kessel. Hurry hurry hurry, the vette is going to warp out! There she is, Star Ravager. Almost to the exit! Grr, still can't handle the fighters, what is wrong with me!? (Try some sleep, bonehead!) Now I start to resort to fly-by missile attacks with all the fighters chasing me. Shield destroyed, secondary shield destroyed. Now to take out the engines, blam blam its done! Yay! Now the pressure is off. Flyby missile the reactors, then the bridge... mission complete, woot.

Now FINALLY my senses return. Take out the fighters, joust the Agressors first, blam blam they're both dead. Clean up the rest. Head to the exit point, blast the gunboats from 550m and we're done. Zzzzzooom, hello Naboo station, have my bed ready for me on the ground!

Conclusion: Don't solo the vette without enough sleep and do not listen to any bright ideas you get 30 minutes before the spawn.

And this one time, in Deep Space...

I was so intent on the vette I was killing, I somehow failed to notice the Firespray approaching. Picture this: I am sitting beside/below the vette (that's right, matched speed, which is the same as sitting), using missles on the shields because I just don't feel like circling and finding that angle. So, I'm parallel to thevette, on it's side, a little below, waiting for missle lock...and that's when I see the Firespray. On my screen, just off to my right, coming straight for me. I hit the boost, but it did not even register before I was dead.

As if this story could not get worse...I was in my Actis

Hope that brings a laugh

I was flying along in my RGI doing my last few tier four missions. So here I am, escorting this craft through the sector. When I hear that "blip" when another player comes into range. Now, I always fly overt in space. I just feel the games not right when a rebel and an imperial fly together in any way. I'm sorry, but X-wings and T/F don't play nice together. Anyway, I smash my "next enemy player button" to see how close he is, 3000m off. Now, at this point I'm about an hour into this escort mission if I attack him he could kill me and I'd have to do it all over again, if I kill him he might come back to kill me. However, if I just leave the guy alone he might come attack me and have the initiative. I decided that he needed to die so I could complete my mission.

So here I go, fly off boom dead X-wing. He was farming the imperial fighters near the imperial station in Endor. Before I vaped him I noticed he had a nice paint job, red and black, looked pretty cool. So off I go back to my mission. Now I'm doing the box 4 tier 4 mission, there he is again...oh well, time to die. So I kill him again. I finish up the mission then jump back into the Endor system from, what I believe is Lok I really don't remember. Usually space on Tempest is pretty quiet, even in deep space you hardly see anyone in there, not so this day. Good or bad luck depending of course.

So I jump into Empires Justice in the Endor system, first thing I picked for some reason. So I jump in and am about to turn towards the station when I hear the "blip" again, so at this point I'm thinking "This guy just can't get enough." so I turn towards him and boost in. Not only do I see one red box, but no, I see four others. "Hmm...friends?" so I start to cycle through the contacts in the area, and yes there are four other rebel players with him. It's at this point I start to wonder if I can actually take them. Now keep in mind I've had years upon years of flight sims, all the way from the first X-Wing, to CF1&2, IL2, LOMAC, WW2OL, and the entire rest of the X-wing series. So I figure I might stand a pretty good chance, right? Tally ho!

I dive into them, it's at this point they all turn towards me and the fun begins. They must have been on voice communication to have responded that quickly, or so I thought. And the turn fight begins! The first thing I noticed was one of the names of the fighters was "Black Leader" and from the paint job, I surmized that was probably a flight leader or squadron leader and they must be in some sort unit. Naturally, I target him first to take him out of the fight. Usually it's the better pilot that leads units anyway, so taking numero uno down first is always the best choice. I also noticed on the first pass that they were ALL flying the red and black paint job, just more evidence to show that they were part of a coordinated flying unit.

So here I am, a single red interceptor vs four X-wings and a neutral ship. At this point, it's degenerated into the clustor of pulling back on the stick till you can shoot the other guy. Well, they were doing that. Since I was by my self at this point, I had no choice but to roll all over the place and fire snap shots when I could. I kept targetting the lead pilot and getting shots off during the quick passes that happen in pvp space combat. I got a few hits in, and disabled his reactor. At this point, I knew that he was no longer a threat, even if he was the best pilot out of the bunch. So I targeted the next enemy, and went to work. 30 secs into the fight it was over, three X-wings and the neutral ship were left burning, and all that was left was the flight leader. Since he was disabled I saved him for last. It only took a couple hits and he joined the rest of his squadron.

It took me a few moments to realize what I just done, in 30 secs I had just destroyed a coordinated unit, on a voice communication system, five on one. Oh boy, I couldn't stop smiling. Later that evening I went ahead and soloed the corvette to get "ace", I turned on the tag right away. Later in the next couple weeks following I was patrolling deep space, doing my usual faction farming and I came across another pilot. I shot him down, and we got to talking. He mentioned he was from a squadron called "Scorpian Squadron", this of course peaked my interest. So I went ahead and asked a couple questions,

"This squadron doesn't happen to fly red and black X-wings does it?"

"Hmm, yeah I think so."

"Does their flight leader call himself black leader?"

"Yeah, he does. Why?"

"Well, I think I might have ran into them a few weeks back."

"Get owned did you?"

"No, 30 secs in there was five burning X-wings, tell them I had a good time."

"No way?! They're the best in the squadron!"

It's at this point that I knew I had reached one of those great gaming moments, when only one word could express the emotion, the feeling, the greatness...PWNED.

As an Imp pilot on Tempest I'd like to say good job.......

But the part about flying the RGI kinda skews it. That thing is insanely hard to hit......the hitbox is really messed up.... I can fly my RGI in circles around the vette at 3/4 throttle and not even have to use shield shunt.
