Thread: PVP question....

Depends on your foe. I know that Leaph complained one pilot in particular almost got him with that trick, since it took him off-guard. Really, though, it depends on an unpredictable use.
I don't suggest it since against most pilots it is instant death. I only got leaph with it because it was only the second or third time we had fought and I let him think I was was using repeditive evasion maneuvers, but I still wasn't fast enough to capitalize. it will only work if you have freakishly good reflexes or both of you are moving in a straight line.
You would have to catch them sleeping... or hope they arent a good shot. I know I manually control my throttle so i would just adjust by sight... maybe the guys with the hotkeyed throttle settings would have more trouble (not having a good setting HK'd) but I doubt it.
Its kind of like an on side kick in Football... Only works once unless you are really good and lucky.
Emphasis on Lucky.

can stopping then hitting the afterburner be a usefull tactic to get a good tailgator in front of you to driver three guns of love? i know it works in games like Planetside due to the network lag(your stopped but on their screen you keep moving).
Pace did nearly get me with it. It's one of those tricks which you use as a last ditch and once every galactic cycle against an opponent who isn't expecting it. I never use it.
I really don't suggest adopting it as a regular tactic.

Once, with a JSF chasing me whilst I was in my X, I dropped the speed as I turned. The JSF went into a hard turn at full speed, and ended up in front of me, BOOM!

It will make you a sitting duck and chances are your opponent will only need one shot to get you. I wouldn't recommend it. Rapidly changing thedirection of your flight vector rather than its magnitude will work better when you have someone on your six.
Although ironically in this game, people tend to be on each other's 12s
