The Tier 3 RSFmission to escort the YT-1300 (Camado Sun I think is the name) is not the problem...it's the mission in the Corellian System that follows which I am having a lot of trouble with. Regardless of how I configure my ship...and I have tried alot of configs...I cant seem to last more than 10 seconds in this battle.

Setup: After successfully completing the escort part of the mission I get a message to head to the Correllian system and join the main fleet.

Upon I arrival, I head to my WP and the , ahem, main fleet (a Firespray and 2 Z-95's) pulls up. I fall in line with the "fleet" and shortly thereafter the enemy arrives. (Sorry dont have the makes on all the vessels but I know there are about 7-8 of them and at least one is a yt-1300). Battle ensues, my "fleet" sits there and does nothing to help and I get blown away in a matter of moments from the hail of incoming missles and YT-1300 blasts.

I have tried firing off lots of countermeasures to avoid the missles, the YT just wears me out quick. I tried taking on the fighters quickly and actually shot down two pretty fast, but again, hail of missles, YT and seemingly no support from the , ahem, fleet (very sad if thats all the RSF truly has for a fleet ) and again its eject time.

I'm on my second chassis...

Do I need a group to do this or am I doing something completely wrong? Anyone?

Secondly I have another question regarding chassis'.

Is there any way to restore a chassis to its original hps? I have now bought two Dunelizards, both of which have had lots of mass and about 2400 hps each. They now only have about 1500hps left and it is soley from this ONE mission. I never once had to eject from my first Dunelizard until this mission , same for the new one I have put together.

I have amassed enough xp to finish out tier 3, and then some to spend on tier 4 already but I cant finish this mission to get the training that I need.

Any help out there would be most appreciated

I say grab a couple masters from your server it may be overkill but it sounds like your tired of the mission lol.

I've had this happen to me doing Smuggler's Alliance. I was able to beat the mission anyway, but for kicks, I parked my ship in the middle of all of my 'fleet', and waited for a couple enemies to shoot at me...when one missed and hit the ship(s) next to me, they finally attacked.

I remember a very similar mission for Smuggler's Alliance, in fact, I think it was the same one where my 'allies' clustered together like I said above. Basically, the YT should be your priority. At this time I assume you have the ability to use lvl7 weapons? If so (and I hope you do - 2322 was my first box to get, stay with the dunelizard) go to your local Shipwright and get him/her to craft some lvl7's with quick shot enhancers. They're what I used during that mission (as I made mine myself heh) and I didn't have a problem at all, the YT went down in one pass. I actually think I was using *all* crafted components at this stage, including engine.

Also, there is no way to restore chassis on a ship once it's degraded like that. My X-wing from rebel days has less than 700 left heh. I'll just have to make a new one when I go back to reb

the way the smuggler alliance group got around the sam problem is we used epulse. fly right the in middile of both groups hit e-pluse and went on and did the mission. the other way i heard people doing this is shoot at the enemy once they start attacking you run in the middle of your group and fire the iff scramble then everyone gets into it. It was a problem for S.A. way back when. I used both methods on 2 of my S.A's.

Tried this mission two more times and failed miserably. I thought I blew up the YT the first time , but it was my ship blowing up instead /sigh

If I need to group, I feel that is BS, but ok...problem is I havent found one group on land much less one willing to go to space on Bria since I started playing again last week after being gone since the second month of SWG's release.

I just dont get it. The fighters that surround the YT are no problem, all lvl 3 medium/light fighters, 6 of em total I believe. The YT just wears me out regardless of what I do. I even tried smacking it with several rockets then jtl and come back to no avail. It was just fully healed up and sitting there with the rest of its escort while the three RSF ships sit 500m away watching in starry-eyed wonder. Then I get blown to bits again.

My chassis on the Dunelizard I bought yesterday is now next to useless. IT has like 1000hps left. If I cant beat this mission with a 2400hp chassis there is no way I can win with a 1000 hp vessel.

Also, cant find an EP anywhere. Never used one either so no idea what it does...I'm assuming its an AE electrical pulse...

I have alot of trouble finding anything decent from a shipwright on Bria. Every single one I have talked to has been rude and obnoxious.

Any other advice or help and I'd be greatful.

For the YT: Strafe it, using Weapon overload programs. Fly at it, targetting wepaon 0, and when your front shield is getting hammered, boost out, using Shunt cap to shield program to regen your shield. Lather,, rinse repeat until both turrets of the YT are dead, then finish it off.

Using engine overload, weapon overload, reactor overload, capacitor overload and shuint cap to shield is essential if you fly solo.

done trying this. It is simply not possible for me to solo it. I cant find a group. It sucks that I have to rely on a group to advance in my pilot class. Absolute garbage as a matter of fact. It wouldn't be so bad if I didnt have to fly back to Naboo , get the mission and do the simple escort part of the mission over and over and over...but oh well. Im done with this and not trying again. Guess my privateer days are over. Thanks for the advice, sorry none of it worked.

The MM in MMORPG stands for Massive Multiplayer.
I really wished the people would finally get away from the impression that everything has to be soloable, that already ruined the groundgame.

Yep, MM stands for Massive Multiplayer...not get a group to advance in a profession.

And I have no impression that everything should be soloable....just things that I "have" to do in order to progress in a profession.

I have zero problems with grouping...although I have to say from past SWG experiences (granted they were from a long time ago Beta 2-3 and first couple of months after release) grouping is an excerise in futility. I'm certain that some of the early problems with groupinghave been ironed out by now, but Ihave not been able to find a single person to group with on Bria since I started playing again last week.

And how about this: I have managed to work my way halfway through the pilot profession completely solo and never die once. Now I get to this mission and Ihave to have a group in order tocontinue through the profession?

Bah. A single wingman is all you need. If you do not know a single pilot of your level willing to help you, and are unable to hire someone, well, not sure if SWG is the right game for you.

Do two things. Invest in a great shield, one with at least 1550 f/b hit points and 8.5 recharge at your level. Put it in a Dunelizard. Get 2 good level 7 weapons. One an ion cannon with .8 or better vs shields and the other a blaster with at least .6/.6 to armor, shields, then an engine with 72 speed or better and 62+ to YPR. Then get Engine, weapon, capacitor and reactor overload 3 in your Flight comp and get cap to sheild shunt 3. Fit in a spacebomb mark 1 launcher if you have any room left.

First thing to do is target the YT1300's engine, YES engine. use that spacebomb, or if you don't have room for it, use those 2 marvelous guns you have OVERLOADED and strafe the thing. With 2 guns like this overloaded, or spacebomb mark 1, the engine should die in one pass. When the engines go down you can drag the fighters to a safe distance, ie 600m+ from the YT, where its turrets can't hit you. Always take out heavy fighters such as Kimogila, Rhykzerk and Ixyen first, these are the guys that pummel you with missiles.

Then drop the small fighters. USE CAP TO SHIELD SHUNT as needed. Having a Droid interface with a low speed number is best, It is possible to have one with around 3k mass and 19.0 speed which alows you to shunt every 19 seconds.

Also at this level if an enemy gets on your arse and is pinging your sheilds. use the button that targets next enemy, bind it to your joystick for heavens sake and swing around andget behindthe guys on your 6, shoot them, disable the fighters first if you have to, its faster and easier. Clean up the floating dead ships at your leisure.

This is mission is very hard, butsoloable, if you are using the overloads. RSF was my third ace and this was the only mission that I almost was killed on. But I did it alone.

From reading the forums I know Bria has a pilot population, read the pilot helper list, start talking to guilds...you were gone from the game for more than a year it sounds like, you gotta try to make some friends, that was this game truly depends on.

The pilot proffs are hard, and no one solos all the missions on the way to thier first ace.

Wanna practice a bit, go rebel overt in space if you are ground rebel, or vice versa if imp, and find a gunboat group in Kessel, practice strafing and boosting away attacks on the GB with fighters pinging at you. if you can waste the GB and 3 fighters without dying, you can nail your mission

i know the mission well... took me 8 attempts at it before i beat the battle you are stuck in .. how did i finally do it? as soon as the enemy fleet jumps in to the area , i started hyperspace sequence... when countdown hit 50% i targeted the yt and charged in with guns blazing on one turret. did he beat the hell out of my sheid? damn right.. but before he could tear it all the way down i was jumping out. i jumped to the same hyp point that i first used..( correlias own? cant remember to be honest) and when i loaded back in i was a mere 3-4k from the enemy fleet with NO agro left on me. rinse , repeat, rinse, repeat many times as it takes.

after the yt its all gravy and you are on your way to tier 4 with ease.

and i do understand the trouble you have on bria finding a wingman or group to help with a mission in space. bria space appears to be a ghosttown.. i rarely see more than a couple other people in space in any particular zone.

No pissing nor moaning here...

Finding the components you are speaking of, while not that much better than my own now, is no easy task. I have jumped from planet to planet several times over the last few days, searching vendors, the bazaar etc trying to find upgrades, and have had very little luck. Also spoke with several master shipwrights andmany pilots, none of which were willing to offer any help whatsoever.

I'm on my third dunelizard chassis now since this weekend. All from this one mission.

My current chassis has the highest mass capacity of the three ships I have purchased. Due to the mass of the components however, I can no longer put a missle launcher or counter measure devices on the ship and keep the engine/reactor/shields that I have now, all of which are the best I have seen that I can use. I have had to leave armor completely out of the mix as well.

As for droid programs, I only have the second tier of droid commands and cannot train the third because I cannot train until I finish this mission apparently. That is the main problem. I have enough xp to finish out the whole tier, but I cant get the training I need in order to do so.

one thing I hadn't thought of, can pilot skills be mentored by a player?
