Thread: the myth of the one shot PvP...
There are only two things that come out of changing everything and making ships tougher:

Actually, when I had my X-Wing outfitted for Deep Space PvP, it was a rare event when I didn't get the one-shot kill. I dished out 4200 points of damage on average per volley using 3 guns. Every once in a while, I'd screw up against a maneuvering target and only hit with two or one of the guns, resulting in a 2 or 3 shot kill. Most people lasted seconds. Some people lasted minutes. It really depends on the pilot.
When I PvP'd in my A-Wing, I never got one shot kills even with my RE'd reward gun. Go figure.
Please remember that the opposite point of view comes from experienced pilots who can fly. If you talk to them like they know what they are doing, you'll be surprised at how well they respond. You might just win converts, rather than getting yes-men to say "yes".

What do you mean by that? i was in kessel last night, so i know its still there...do you mean the idea or implementation of kessel is poorly done? Honestly trying to understand what you mean.
When Jump to Lightspeed was first released, Kessel was a mandatory PvP zone. But since the Ace missions took place in Kessel, people who had no interest in PvP cried bloody murder and Kessel became PvP optional.
I usually end up learning something from one of these posts too!
As much as I want to argue my point, I would settle for them just fixing wpn overload 3 and nothing more.
That bloody thing has been broken since launch and I'm very interested to see how fixing that will affect
gameplay before any other changes take place.
Course if they want to add content to deep space and make destroying the station/ISD fun/worth it I'd jump for joy...

@JamesBenson:
Well put. I went up in my oppressor last night, found an xwing, and we both went charging at each other. He went head on guns blazing I juked, rolled and slid around and threw my nose across his flight path and fired one snap shot, boom, it was over.
Don't care if he was a good pilot, or didn't have the right equipment, or didn't see me, or whatever. Wasn't fun for me, and he got frustrated and went back the ground game. I felt bad honestly because the whole thing seemed too fast.
I'd prefer to have an engagement like that last longer, even if it's only 3 seconds it should take more that one shot to end it for an xwing. I'm happy with 1 shot kills against an Awing cause those things are horrible to shoot at.
