If he gets a Lambda, can I have a T-wing?

What's so great about the lamda anyhow? It's really just a glorified taxi. I'm not flaming, I just don't see the appeal of the ship. Even in the movies, they really just....flew and landed?

They are an iconic ship, and very elegant looking. They were used (in the movies) to shuttle the Galaxy's two most important individuals as they made the rounds. Honestly, the thing could fly like a brick and I would want one.

the lambada would be cool as hell i think.

and as far as the other fighters, like hte naboo fighter.......heres what i'd love to see


give each of the 9 squadrons a different ship certification upon mastery of that squadron......example, rsf would get the naboo fighter......not sure on the other 8 squadrons, but thats my idea

I have a feeling the Lamda Class Shuttle will be added at the same time as the YT-2400 along with another new light POB ship. All three ships will have the same stats, with the Lamda going to the Imperials, the YT-2400 to the freelancers, and other new ship going to the rebels. If I was the dev, I'd say give them the following stats...

600k mass (So that the owner will have to use a mix of POB and regular starfighter components.)

1forward weapon slot

2forward ordinance slots

1 turret

Spdx 0.85, Acc 20, Dec 20, Pitch 100, Yaw 100, Roll 50

That would give them manueverability that is somewhere between that of the current POB ships and that of a heavy fighter such as the Rihxyrk. The one issue the devs need to avoid, however,is that if they give these new ships pilot controlled guns along with semi-decent manueverability, they will need to make sure that they keep the mass in check. If they don't, we'd end up with solo players flying these ships as heavy fighters loaded out with all the new POB-only components. That's why I suggested 600k mass above. That would allow a player to use up totwo POB-only components in their ship.

Speed and handling are two different things. A top fuel dragster is all about speed. Zero handling.

Lambdas are on the way. They were working on the interior art for them last I heard. Which was the FanFest before last (the same one that "announced" capital ships). It appears that the YT-2400 is also comming soon. However, we have confirmation that the Lambda is not part of the ToO expansion. So when we'll actually see them is anyone's guess.

I got word of the Lambda from Aura when he talked to the guy doing the interior work on it while at the FanFest. The Lambda has been something I've wanted for a while now, so he asked about it for me.

The YT-2400 has bits and pieces in files we've already downloaded. This was posted to the JtL board a few months ago. Not conclusive, but Aura was told that there was another ship on the way, so the timing was right.

And for the Lambda not being in ToO, that was asked about during the ToO Stratics chat.

That would be fun to fly. I know with the upgrade on POB parts, most people would use a POB shield in the lambda if it had that setup (since according to a post by a TC player, they have around 9k hp front/back I believe).
