I'm curious. What are the favourite ingame moments of you, the pilot community?

Personally I have a few so briefly (without being brief...)

At number one, it has to have been when I got my very frst X-wing. Believe it or not, but I used to hate the A-wing with a ferverent passion because I knew nothing about mass management.
Then, it was my first ever Corvette mission. It wasn't even time for my Ace and I knew nothing about droid commands. I was about as green as they come and thought that a top speed of 750 at the time was pretty rad .
Thirdly comes droid commands and then later on, but related to this in many ways was my first half decent attempt at an A-wing setup. This wasas a result of being badgered by Rapax mainly whoinspired medelving into the realms of Imperlianess ona different server andat the timeof me producing thisA wing,it was a lvl 6 post-nerf engine, mk III shield and a lvl 8 crafted laser cannon. I don't think I even had any chaff on board but the thing could certainly move compared with my EO3 running X-wing when I used EO4 on this A-wing for the first time.

Thats all for the things which happened quite a while ago. (Seems like years when really it is only months o.o)

Post Cu/rotw though I have to say the Heavy X-wing quest (which I appreciate was/is horribly bugged but non the less..) was refreshing new content and seeing a Corvette on a mission which was outside of Kessel had it's novelty fora time too.
The introduction and what I can only describe as a 'revolution' of updated loot with rotw opened up the door for more realistic improvement of current starships without having to hang around for pre-nerf gear too. I know only the long time players here will probably appreciate this, but it cannot be denied that new rotw uber ship aside, there has been somewhat of a cultural change of view when it comes to setting up certain ships. I think the intro of these new uber ships have given those who decided to stay with their pre-rotw ships to a guideline in which direction to take their ships and no, I'm not just talking from my own experiences.

Lastly though and I must say, these are right up there with my first ever x-wing, has to be last night's Duty mission mainly for the general cooperation and smooth running of the operation and my first, second and up 'till present Starsider PvP events. These last two are player created events I know, but are important because they're what keeps me playing the game whilewe anticipate future content from the Devs.

P.S

Publish 24 looks simply fantastic.

Taking out the ISD solo for the first time, having been out drinking all day.
That was a pretty good moment but the hangover was a killer

Not had any really "epic" moments but some good "LOL" ones:-

Helping a guildmate do his last mission before the admiral and him asking "there's no gunboats on this mission are there?" replying "no I dont think so" and having 2 of them spawn right on the "so".

Hitting emergency thrust instead of IFF scramble and ploughing straight into the vette last night, that was fun.. especially after telling my group "Ok follow me and do what I do"

Seeing the ISD for the first time has to be up there. Going back to DS as a imperial ace while i was doing my 9 squadrons and really getting to take in the size of the thing, i spent a good 15-20 minutes just fly around it.

My first master mission is up there too. Having that feeling of the vette being so menacing and impossible, the thought of someone being able to solo it blew my mind, in fact i thought it was impossible, till i tried it myself.

Doing the Lord Cyysk mission for the first time, there were about 8 of us doing it, and the sheer mass of the ships that come down on you is immense, and quite a shock to the system. Only 2 of us survived, me and the mission taker, and we finished off the mission. Then about a hour later, we were back doing it again, just the 2 of us, with a 3rd guy keeping his distance, and it was so much fun, a actual challenge.

My top moment has to be my first PvP fight and kill, it was a guy in a oppressor, and it was just the most exhilirating thing i've done in game, the challenge of taking another player with skill, and actually judgement on my part was a real thrill, i just wish there was more of it on FarStar.

1) Sunday night's PvP event with the Nova Courier. Seeing several fighters make gun runs on us and not break the shields. Actually regretting not bringing a repair team along because we actually DID survive some attacks that breached our defenses.

2) The first timea really tough pilot in an Actis-2 went down against my A-Wing, and then a few nights and couple more really good opponents later, realizing I'd pushed the envelope enough that I had my JSF Killer.

3) The first night flying my Advanced X-Wing with its Level 10 Engine, and accomplishing my other goal of a dual role fighter that's as deadly in PvE as it is in PvP.

4) Answering a challenge by a JSF pilot who read my signature about JSFs and wanted to put his undefeated record to the test. Endedup with a new name on the friends list and another pilot asking me for advice on how to improve his piloting and set up for a TIE Interceptor. He flew a Heavy TIE in Sunday's event and showed incredible improvement.

Knocking out my first corvette.

I was CorSec and had solo'd the squadron very quickly, and gotten to that point where my cert levels had outstripped my components. I was flying a Bel and was determined to do my first corvette solo and without missiles, but just didn't have the shield I needed to get it done. After three failed attempts, I cooked up a 6/6 gun, level 6 engine, unreversed reward shield loadout, figured out how to strafe the shields head-on, and put a rock through her windshield at 4 AM.

Amusingly, I was so exhausted at that point that I just /quit right there in Kessel. The next day I logged on to go talk to Burke and get my fancy hat. Instead of complaining of a communications blackout and asking for my report, the punk pretended he'd never seen me before and gave me the corvette mission again.

Back to Kessel. The Star Ravager was 5k from the exit point. Ah, crap. Fighter screen down, 3k to go. Gun 5, check. No time to take out the gunboats, better lob missiles at the shields. Primary down. Secondary shield...down. Engines at 58%.....wait what is this, crazy ivan? Why's she going so fast? noooooo....... *blip*

*sigh*

Finally got her for once and allabout 100 minutes later. Infuriating, but still some of the most fun I've had playing ANY game.

I have two favorite JTL moments. First was on my main, he was doing his master mission for Smuggler Alliance. I got to Kessel and found a small group waiting to do their master mission too. So I grouped up with them and not more then a few minutes later the corvette spawned and we went to work. I died at least twice during the whole battle, and was about to die a third time when we got the vette disabled. I help finish off the corvette with my eject button showing on screen.

My second favorite moment was about a week ago with my alt. I was down to doing the corvette and so I jumped to Kessel hoping to catch a group already there that I could join up with, but there wasn't one. The corvette was up tho so I took a deep breath and fired away on it. Even though I died twice, I beat the vette solo.

1.) The first time i ever flew a ship in JTL. orginal first choice in profession was privateer, but gave up at teir 3 cause i thought it was too hard (*GASP*) and looking over the professions decided the payoff wasnt worth the effort. So i dropped freelance and went rebel. Rebel turned out to be my first mastery.

2.) First corvette. FULL, and i do mean FULL group in space. 15 people. Looked like a whole armada, and it took us 10 mins to kill it. (no one knew any of the tricks)

3.) My first time PvPing. It was agaisnt an A wing while i was using a T/A. I told myself, "im going to get on his ass and stay there" - which i did, like glue. Killed him twice, died once on a head on pass. Neither of us was running EO4 (everyone was a newbie back then).

4.) first attempt at soloing the vette. Close, but no cigar.

5.) having a house 200 meters from a starship terminal on rori

6.) being in the only successful imperial pilot PA that has ever existed on Bria.

My second Tier 3 mission. I had my X-wing (the first in my guild) and I had a group of something like five pilots with me. I wish I had a screenshot, but it was this half-squad of Y-wings, Y-wing Longprobes, and Z-95 Headhunters, with my X-wing at the lead. It was an awesome sight.

First time I took on the corvette with a group. We had a dozen people, and it was when Kessel was still a PvP battleground. We had this mixed group of X-wings and Y-wings, with the mission holder in an A-wing. We had no idea what we were doing and almost all of us died at least once or twice.

My first Starsider large-scale PvP battle, with around forty snubs on each side. I was one of the few Rebels who knew about droid programs, so I was outperforming my squad mates. I have this really distinct memory...

The battle was for the Alliance to hold the Rebel frigate at Endor station. I was with my guildmates there, along with a bunch of other Rebel pilots. Suddenly the Imps showed up on long-range contact so I whipped towards them with my X-wing, boosting along and suddenly way ahead of most of the other Rebels.

I dropped in behind this TIE Oppressor and opened fire. It lost its shields on the first attack, but went evasive. I began to maneuver to keep up with it, but another TIE nailed me from behind and I lost my rear shields. I fired again on the trip and watched it explode, then turned towards my incoming group (I *was* quite a ways ahead) and boosted back towards them, watching a half-dozen X-wings shoot all around me to pick the TIE off my tail. I felt like I was really in SW at that moment.

Those are really some of my best memories, though I've accomplished quite a few things in JtL.

I guess soloing the vette as an Imperial. I'm not the uberest of flyers, so this was a great feeling for me. I was shaking afterwards

Definatelymy first corvette kill. Took 2 or 3 groups attacking it at once. A mixed bag of Xwings, Ywings (some deuces) all mixing it up with the corvette and fighters at once. That was the most Star Warsy moment I have had.

Coming second, is one of the Crimson Phoenix Tier 4 missions where you have to kill 2 shuttles and about 12+ Ties (a mixed bag of eyeballs, squints, brights and deuces), followed by a second large imp fighter formation. It was made even more difficult by the fact the enemys all aggroed the mission holder, me! It took a full squad of pilots in Ys and Xsto finally do it while I dodged fire in my plucky Awing for about 30 mins. In the end we had a Nova rushing to help us but it arrived just to late hehe.

The above were all done shortly after launch without Reed components or the knowledge of other faction programs or any of the tricks that everyone knows now. The extra difficulty actually makes it more fun and rewarding.

Plowing through both Novas in that event in succession with my Firespray. J/K

I'd say going through Tiers 3 and 4 the first time in a Bomber, working my rear off in learning how to kill jousting A-wings in that tub. Seeing the ISD the first time ranks up there. The first time the VT-49 Daishi hit 1700, and then realizing that fully charged up nothing was disabled on her. My top JtL moment though, getting together a group to set up this, not to mention not running into a Rebel pilot during the photo op (none of us had crews) and taking out a corvette afterwards (again, without crews), too bad none of the screenshots made the screenshot of the day.

My favorite moment was my first vette ace mission. I had been a tier 4 corsec pilot forever and just joined a guild and learned about droid programs and wonders of RE'd parts. Tomo, Garnes, and I went after the vette. That was the first time I had even seen the vette and it was very impressive. I remember being completely intimidated by it as I flew closer in my rhik. I pulled off the fighters as Tomo and Garnes started on the vette. As I got done with the fighters I decided to make a couple runs on thevette and got my first taste of corvette love. I limped away with the eject button on my screen as the other two disabled the vette and continued to take down systems. I managed to take out one of the gunboats and get the killing blow on the vette before the other gunboat landed a couple good hits and sent me back to dath.

My second favorite moment was my first trip into deepspace. I had just got my shiney new(sort of... first time flying it for me) JSF and Tomo was showing me some moves that would help with being new in PvP. After about an hour he said we should take a run through DS. With the severe rear whoopin of the vette still fresh in my mind I was a little apprehensive, but I was with Tomo so no worries. (BTW a little back ground... a friend that I played MW4 with got me into SWG and told me about JTL but refused to pvp because of one pilot... Tomo... then he joined the guild that I was in and after the vette performance I was a bit in awe.) So we head for deepspace (or the aces playground as I had heard it called). We load and the first thing I see is the ISD. I was so glad to be an Imp at that point. Then I start seeing all the vettes loading in... my mouth went dry, hands started sweating and I knew there was no way I could keep up with Tomo if we got into a fight. Anyone that could "play" here was way better than me. So Tomo starts giving me the tour. No rebels yet and he steared us clear of any spawns. He told me that we were going to check out Freedom Station. About 2k away Tomo informed me of a rebel contact and told me to follow him. He went evasive and boosted toward the rebel and I made a feeble attempt at being evasive as he had taught me a few minutes before. He scored a couple hits in a straf and I was right on his tail a scored one of my own plus a missile hit. We pulled back from the spawn point and waited (I guess Tomo was talking to him). When the rebel loaded in Tomo told me to attack and he would wait there. So, attempting to follow his example I boosted and went evasive and managed to not get hit in the joust and I got into a tuning battle with the x-wing (or heavy x-wing). After about 2 turns he landed two hits on me so fast I didn't even know what happened when I started loading into dath.

After those two little adventures my favorite moment have been every mass pvp battle I have been in. The starsider coordinators are the best. thanks guys.
