Thread: Public Service Announcement For Potential Master Pilots

To all potential Master Pilots:
Every time you blow up a vette for your master mission and leave the gunboats behind, Darth Vader will kill a kitten.

For those newer pilots who don't know, leaving the gunboats jacks up the next corvette spawn. The gunboats will not despawn but they will just circle around the exit point. The next vette's spawn timer will not start until those gunboats are blown up.Leaving the gunboatsis like giving the finger to the pilot who comes to do the master mission after you.

This public service announcement is brought to you because I had to clean up the rebel gunboats after some Starsider master bum left them behind last night.

They should really change the mission so that you must kill the Vette AND the gunboats.

9/10 when I need to kill a vette I have to get rid of the gunboats at exit point then wait till next vette spawns

I don't usually have to clear the GBs when killing the Vette for master ... but then, I usually sweep the exit point when I go up anyway, so I sweep it doing the 30 ships.

Agree. I've had to clear gunboats several times when helping out others, and it's kind of a PITA after they start turning circles. It's not like blowing up the gunboats is hard anyway, disable the vette, back off for a sec while the GB's fly past, kill vette, then go kill theGB's. I've soloed those GB's several times... it's super easy as long as you catch them before they get to the end.

/agree - though I have been lucky... never had the GBs left up for any of my vettes.

Making the 2 GBs part of the mission would be cool (change mission from kill vette to kill vette and her escort)... but then that would make it harder for more people to get credit....

Or just program in something that checks for the vette, if check = false, self-destruct (like on some missions when the shuttle jumps - the bad guys poof).

Don't make me test that theory. Personally I hate all animals. They're only good for eating and heh the human race I too have a general distaste for. Shame cannibalism is generally frowned upon otherwise I'd eat people too.

NOT REALLY!!! /hides corpse of human

But yep, leaving gunboats after the vette is silly. They're not hard to kill when they're flying in a straight line

Wouldn't it be nice if the devs just added a despawn timer to GBs once they reach the exit point?

Of course he'll kill a kitten - he's probably still grinding jedi for another respec after the cloaking changes. I bet he kills quenkers, and fambaas, and worts too!

Regarding the vette, I sometimes wonder if it's on a set timer, say two hours. Most of the time the variation we see is because people start retiming as soon as it blows. The inconsistancies with which it spawns (say, half an hour after you blow up the GBs) would be becuase you've freed up the spawn and the two hour cycle is nearing completion?

Personally, even after blowing the gunboats, I've always found it to be 2 hours, +or- 30 minutes.

It has been speculated that blowing up the Rebel Space Station would cause the rebel vette to spawn in Kessel. Impossible to test currently, of course.

There are certainly enough reported circumstances of the vette appearing prematurely, or multiple vettes of the same faction being in system simultaneously, to indicate that some factor or combination of factors can force either vette into existence at an unexpected time. It'd be awfully nice to know how to make it happen.

speculated?

I'm actually waiting on it as we speak. And i had to clear up someones lazyness during my Kill 30. I would be getting some FP but i'm going RSF now so don't want the -REB. I tried to waste some time on the ground, but could only take so much spam and 'l33tn3$$' garbage. The funny thing is, i might actually die this time, I'm soloing it in my Rhxywhateveritscalled. Never solo'd in this broad side of a barn before, but i'm glad to be out of the Bel from doing the IMP aquads. Only 3 squadrons left after this one! YAY!!

gunboats are the most Bang for the Buck when it comes to FP. Those are my target of choice in Kessel, I mean, yeah it's a drag to kill the gunships and wait 2 hours, but at least you know the timer at that point.
