This post is to shup people up who want to nerf the JSF.
Rebels allways complain abou it being better than the A-wing well it has a right to be the JSF had years of rechearch and development to be good for the Jedi making it what it is. The A-wing however is just a modivied stunt fighter not built for what it is used for it says so in Rogue Squadron 2. SO SHUT UP U REBEL SCUM!

Wow, here's my nominee for dumbest first post ever.
Not only is it specious reasoning (unless an N64 game became a definitive source for star wars lore when I wasn't looking), it's offensive, and in an ugly font/color

Still, he does raise a few good points.
Rogue Squadron 2? Well, yes...possibly a dubious information source. However, it must have been approved by Lucas, so it must have some validity.
I've seen some other dubious stuff get approved...for example, how many women does Luke Skywalker end up pairing with or marrying? Isn't that against the code?
It could have been put forth a tad more eloquently though, with that I do agree.

Actually, I think it's kinda funneh.
Personally, I've always felt that a game (especially a twitch combat game) SHOULD have differences in the weapons/ships available. Combat isn't only about tactics, it's about placing overwhelming force to overcome your enemy's advantages. Hence, the reason that the technology is constantly researched and ugraded. Sure, an F4 Phantom was a great fighter, but when the Soviets introduced the Mig21, we were forced to respond by building a faster and more agile F14 Tomcat.
In this instance, the Imperial Navy has introduced the JSF. It's faster, more agile than the current Rebel frontrunner, the A-Wing, but NOT impossible to beat. There is a wonderful opportunity here for the Devs to continue to introduce newer and better ships for each faction, which has an added bonus of keeping us (the players) looking forward to new developments and adding to the experience of space combat by increasing the diversity of what's fighting out there.
Don't worry, I'm confident that the Devs know exactly what they brought in by giving us the JSF, the Grevious fighter and others, and I'm sure they'll add something in the future for the Rebels that upset the "balance" for the Imps.
My ONLY complaint is that none of this is having any effect on the GCW, which is why I signed up in the first place.
Anyway, just my humble, Imperial Opinion...

Where'd you dig up this little piece of info? It just looks like they tookthe originaljedi fighter, made a few modifications, and put this one out.
The A-wing however is just a modivied stunt fighter No, it's not, it's a dedicated interceptor designed just prior to the Battle of Endor. According to Star Wars Cannon, it IS the fastest and highest performance starfighter in use. It's also roughly25 years newer than the Jedi Fighter,so the factsdiffer with your"opinions."
not built for what it is used for it says so in Rogue Squadron 2.
I got this info from the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, as well as other various books and websites.
SO SHUT UP U REBEL SCUM! Oh give me a break, that's just childish right there.
As far as nerfing goes, I think "balance" is the word we're looking for. Seriously, have you actually FOUGHT one of these in something other than your own jedi fighter? It can go in circles around an X-Wing, and not even the best fighter pilot could survive very long against a few of them. You obviously don't understand the term "BALANCE" at all.

I do understand the word BALANCE and the best pilots can take them on cos i read on a nother fourm that in a big battle a guy killed 10 JSF and only died 6 times but maby the A-wing dose have room for improvement just to make it more BALANCED.

Only with Image Rec missles, and only against pilots who either suck or just aren't paying attention. If the pilot in the jedi fighter is moderately good, he'll toast even the best pilots, unless they can get a missle lock on em. Balance would have the Jedi fighter with comparable stats to an A-Wing. But instead, it's got TWICE the maneuverability stats of an A-Wing. So if you stick a good engine in one, you could potentially take on several A-Wings in rapid succession without repairing and not die.

There is no point in pushing to bring old ships up to the standards of the new amped up ships, when the new amped up ships push the limits of the game technology to the breaking point. I have seen and heard reports about the new ships moving and turning so fast they blink out of existence on a player's screen. The more ships set to those parameters, the more the game will have to track, and the more often it will happen. I want the game to work, andsettingthe performance of objectsbeyond the limits of the hardware isn't going to help keep it that way.
