I was wondering, i've Mastered 4 of the pilot professions so far and plan on mastering them all, and I thought I remember reading this some where but want to confirm it. Say I'm going up one of the 3 factions don't matter which, say Neutral (Privateer)... after Master I takea dunelizard and load it to the gills with all the good stuff with higher level guns, capacitor, shields and such...Then drop Master but don't redeed the Dunelizard, but rather leave it fully loaded..Now I drop Master and start up another Neutral (Privateer) line..Once I qualify to fly the Dunelizard again, Will I be able to fly the one in my datapad that is fully stocked with higher end stuff even though I don't qualify to use the components that are already installed in the Dunelizard?

i doin't think you will be, it probably has the level 10 components, so . . .on paper. . you shouldn't be able to use it, but im not 100% sure

Yeah, its going to be a roll of the dice unless I can confirm it....was sure I saw somthing about it in this very forum in one of the threads about forgetting to redeed their ship before they dropped Mastered and someone had said that as long as you qualify for the ship you can fly it, your just not qualified to install the component or equip the component, but if its already equiped and your qualified to fly the ship theres no problems...i'm just going to either have to find that thread or do a small test myself...

would this also work if you had an ace load up a ship and then transfer it to you without redeeding it? Can you transfer a ship title in its datapad incarnation?

There are only *three* pilot professions. There are nine *squadrons*.
LastI checked, yes, you can use ships loaded with higher level components than you should be able to, but you can't remove those components untill you level up to them. However, the last time I checked was in beta.

Since each squadron has a different profession badge, its a potato potahto sort of argument.

In beta, before we understood how ships worked, someone gave me a ship in this way. It completely broke it and made it unflyable. I very much doubt it has been fixed (if indeed fix is the right word). If you want to give a ship to someone else, you need to deed it first.
As for having a dunelizard with ace level components, I think it is worth trying. To be honest, you are only putting yourself at a disadvantage by trying a new pilot profession, so I hope it does work.

oh.....well dats sumthing really cool lol if we could do dat dats would b nice.....and i think we should b able to do dat ....like if we once mastered piloting types of ship we shouldnt be forgetting how to pilot it again lmao.....so they should let us keep certificates for ships......u could try it but if u fail u r loosing ur skills....so ask csr or sum1 first.

I'm guessing he's wrong but when I spoke to a CSR about the issue a couple months ago I got the answer...
"It's intended."
