It is certainly on the right track. Don't mock the post-nerf lvl 6 reward engine though because thats what I was using for a long while back in the day when TIE Oppressors were my worse nightmare in pvp.

The blaster is great, similar to mine. The MK III Protons I imagine will have to be removed with the introduction of your QID though. No great loss though. In fact, you may prefer to do what I did before I achieved lvl 8 engine, weapon and lvl 7 starmap shield status and go with a lvl 7 ionic pulse weapon re, the shield, QID and keep the protons. Depends what works best for you.

I am indeed pleased to see more interest in the A-wing. I'm glad it was kept alive since just after rotw launch, some people completely thought it was doomed to extinction.

Your capacitor is 'ok' but I'd work on finding one with a higher recharge rate. Hold out for r,p,y of around 76 on your QID, 22k~mass is also achieveable post re too if you hold out. What speed is it? I personally think that any engine with 90+ speed is good enough these days in pvp.

If you havn't already, you might wish to experiment with shield front adjust for pvp encounters (use with caution as it exposes your rear) and always carry shield normalise as the command does not reset with shunting.

Hmm...more comments later. I'll watch this project (like every other A-wing project I see published) closely.

I've been trying to find good engines to RE with the QID for so long I forgot the speed, I believe it's either 99 or close, I'll have to check my RE shop lol.

Aye the capacitor was just made with 2 we had sitting around, not too bad, but with 14 e/s....lol

The only reason I gripe on my 82 Engine is the PYR, I wanted to get this thing in the air, and got impatient with the engine, so we just threw one together.

All in all, this thing is a blast, it's nigh untouchable, packs a MEAN punch with that lvl 8 Cannon, and has protons for when I wanna play around. I won't mind ditching them whent he QID comes, they're fun, but not importantwith my flying style.

Pretty good for a post nerf engine, now go get yourself a real reactor, at least Type II, Type III if you can spare the mass, throw on EO4, and you can make that thing dance on a dime.

Why would I need a "real" reactor? I use EO4 and CO 4 no problem.

I've never been able to use EO4. It kills my reactor every time and disables everything but my engine, even if I start my routine with RO4. I can't normalize anything because my DI is disabled so I end up having to land. heh

BTW, I love these A-Wing posts. Ever since I went Reb, I consider the A-Wing to be my primary ship. I've even been cannibalizing parts off my JSF as it gathers dust. heh

My a-wing is a little diff, similar reactor, and you may want to try ultra-light armor, you can shave down some mass and keep a similar amount of protection (I am a SW and played with lvl 1 armor panels a LOT!)

Leaph's idea of a shield shift is something I employ myself

I tend to cut back on the booster, I am running a lvl 1 crafted booster with everything going into mass/maint, it's a tactical booster, almost never on for more than 1 sec.

I would dump the protons for mark 2 IR's

With an engine speed like ours (mine is a RE 8 with similar speed) alot of people will outrun you. I always get /tells about how fast my a-wing is, and I never really understand why, it's manuverable, but not all that fast (this is also why I don't bother much with a booster)

The shield can certainly get improved, I have a mark IV shield like yours, but the mass is a hair under 16k and protection is a little higher, maybe even the recharge. It did cost me a bundle but I really don't care that much about credits when it comes to my a-wing (and I am sure Leaph is going to delight in hearing that)

Search for crafted stuff on your server, and try to figure out who the really great SW's are out there, some guys just have all the right resources and in some cases the right tapes. I promise the tiny extra pays off in an a-wing

Oh BTW I like your gun, much better than my slap-together RE 7

wow... that is really creepy. The RE Borstel that I have on my Interceptor is almost exactly the same as this. My drain is about 40 higher and my mass is about 300 lower.

Yeah... damage and e/s are from the reward gun but the rest are from others. Just weird that we ended up being so close to the same stats.

Keep an X-Wing handy for pure PvE. The A-Wing is nice, but its not your best PvE ship. Flying faster than NPCs is usually more frustrating than its worth, and only Tier 5s tend to move at speeds that the A-Wing can match without losing a LOT of maneuverability.

The A-Wing is a premier Rebel PvP ship, while I'm sure Leaph will slap my knuckles with a ruler for downing it as a PvE'er, its really not the most efficient ship for the job.
