I recently dropped being rebel to go imp because i felt there was an imbalance between the two.

So i started on imp piloting and after looking at a few faqs i've relized that either imp pilots suck or something.

Is there a good explanation why we never get a ship with more then 2 guns? even our best ship have 2!

tell me theres something about the tie oppressor that doesn't need more then 2 to be just as good at a b-wing which has 4!

oh and one more thing,

I just noticed that my tie interceptor shoots 4 lazers at once instead of 2, is that a visual effect or am i acutally going to do more damage?

They are just different. Yes, Freelancers have great PvM Ships and the missions are very easy. As Imp you have more agile ships and more exciting missions.

And Imps have Weapon Overload 3

the 4 lasers on interceptor are just an effect, you still do only the damage of one weapon, you might have an easier time to hit targets though.

Imps don't use droids, they have flight comps instead. And yes i think imps can compete. The only prob is that low-lvl imp ships mostly put emphasis on manouverability (except the bomber and aggressor of course). But that's just another advantage, other reb and freelancer ships have more mass and weapons to equip instead.

You need a Flight Computer as Imp with the appropriate Level.

You should also get some Freelancer programs as Reactor Overload, Capa Overload an Capa to Shield.

Add Your Engine Overload and Weapon Overload 3 (in fact 3 is buggy so only use 3 or nothing).

Imperial pilots train using minimalist configurations. Rebel pilots can use fully-stacked ships at 11xx (even though you'd be hard-pressed to max out a Y-Wing with L3 gear).

We get fast yet light ships - Rebels get large ships with large carriages. Whereas an X-Wing might be able to carry superfluous stuff, everything we put in our craft has to be perfectly balanced, leading to a better understanding of what the ship is capable of.

Amen!

My main character isan Imperial Ace, and my other toon is 4/4/4/3 Privateer. The experience of working up the Imperial pilot trees with limited mass (early on) and lower forward firepower than the other two pilot professions really got me "in touch" with ship components.

Using that knowledge - and a pile of saved loot from my Imp - I've been flying a Dunelizard since tier 1. The 83k mass of that ship, along with very prudent equipment choices (well, and having Imperial droid commands doesn't hurt) has been more than enough to keep the "Doom Lizard" outfitted and competetive. I've been running in Kessel with that ship since 3/3/2/2.

It's all aboutknowing yourgear. And some skill at the stick doesn't hurt.

And explain to me how /bstrike is good at anything but the Vette and mission support? Rebels and Privateers can fit larger shield gens to defend against more turret hits than we can fit on an Advanced or Interceptor. And /bstrike AI has become more progressively idiotic it seems with each passing patch.

As for bstrike in PvP, I wouldn't know as I've never tried (or HAD to try) it.
