I truly,truly hate buffs... I dont want to spend 10-15k on stuff that lasts around 3 hours,when Im not sure if I can play in 3 hours. So I have decided to grind Pikeman from Novice Brawler up to Master Pikeman totally without buffs. Im currently 2111 in Pikeman and I have gained most of my xp by doing dire cat lairs,swamp gurrcats lairs,rouge bageraset lairs... Now Im doing Tattered Torton lairs (1200xp per torton,and they goes down on 1 PolearmSweep1) I get 100k for each time I log in (Or each hour) so Im soon 3111...And I have never buffed myself a single time+ that Im grinding ranger at the same time. Belive it or not,the game is playable without buffs...Just takes a hell of alot time,but Im having fun anyway

Heya, I also hate buffs.... Its kind of like getting a game and turning god mode on... whats the point? I am currently a 3001 pikeman and going strong. I also do not wear armor, but being a ch I have my beasties take the beatings for me. Kinda funny that we both have same template (pikeman-ch-ranger) and we both don't use buffs. Long live the no-buffers!

A third Pike/Ranger/ (maybe CH I don't know yet) who uses no buffs and who also uses no armor.

Ok, I can totally see your point(s) about not liking the buffs. It does make the game very, very easy. However, your point about not wanting to pay the 10-15k for buffs doesn't make sense. You admitted that it takes way longer to do missions and such without buffs, but you'd pay those buffs back on two Savage Quenker missions... and you could do those in roughly 10 minutes (including getting the missions and travel time!).And if you can't play 'til the buffs wear off? I do that all the time! Log in, get in line at the Docs.', take a potty-break (yeah, I'm a dad *smile*) and when I get back... I'm ready to ride. Buffs just make grinding more efficient.

But, like I said, I can understand if you want the challenge of not being buffed. I might actually try that tonight. :-)

i might be one of the weird ppl who dont mind grinding pikeman, but i find it makes it more fun.

anyway i could do it without buffs, cos i like to test how good i am,

like seeing if i can do the squill cave unbuffed, then trying without armour.

it actually presents a challenge in the game.

even soloinga tusken observer with novice pikeman buffed is no problem i found

Hahahahaa... obviously you dont pvp much. My Health and action are at 600 unbuffed so I can throw my points into mind. No viable for everyone. But grats.

I think it all depends on your play style. I plan on PVP, so buffs will be my friend.

awsome! I got master pikeman without a buff myself... but ive been master pikeman a long time! I dont even know If i knew what a buff was as pikeman haha

good job you rock! Yeahh buffs suck, i go on raids as a rebel without armour or buffs all the time

Playing unbuffed is great. Although I have to admit I go buffed sometimes(whenever our PA goes after Rancors)...

I am currently leveling Pikeman(4-2-4-3 already) - and it rocks. Dropped Pistoleer, as soon as I got to know how useless it is, compared to a good Pike. Even unbuffed...*gg*

How many stims did you use for that? The super armor is going away as well, making this impossible to do.

I made master pikeman before high resist ubese, before high resist composite, before doc buffs, before defense bonuses, before great food, before accuracy fixes, before top-quality weapons or loot. I had crates of stims and used them all the time. It was difficult and frustrating sometimes, but it was nice to make it at last. Everything is easy with buffs and super armor (which I love and use to my advantage all the time, but still...), trying to do the same things without is a challenge to be sure. I don't think I would go so far as to say it's "fine" though.

100k in an hour? u could prob get it in about 30min on dant with buffs and easily make ur money back that u spent. did all of master pikeman without armour though not as impressive as most of u but was still ahrd especially as some creatures db grrrr

Off subject, but I managed about 300k an hour once I had Area 2 and Stances 4, but I was using 30%+ speed slices and Pups, Lva...

Viva the no-buffers, I remember those days, TK PB and stims like mad, I remember, tuskin fort.. i remember...

Wait, tuskins use to have weapons? they use to use specials? omg wait, cant be!
