Thread: Silver Surfer
Can you ask the Devs for more variation in our special attacks. It seems redundant to have AreaAttack1 and 2 and SpinAttack1 and 2. Perhaps one of those lines could be tweaked into something else or maybe keep them AE but have different situational uses? Maybe SpinAttack is melee range for lower cost, and AreaAttack is higher range (12m?) at increased cost?

This guy doesn't know what he's talking about....
If you were that dependant on KD, you really don't know the full potential of our profession.
Silver has done nothing but wonderfull reports to the Devs, replied to us when we needed it, and kept us informed. He also has a great understanding on our profession, and I for one am glad that he knows you don't have to spam KD to be good as a Pikeman.
Try out the other moves. Yes, you can solo a lot of things without KD, you just need to practice doing it.

No your full of crap ive read many of his posts....and i dont know what lvl your at butt no you cant solo near the enemies you could before the nerf...get a clue before the nerf i could solo a 5000 credit rebel mission now not even close. And before i could solo 2-3 white splash squills now not even close. So no you get a clue.
I never had to spam kd to pve, and yes, i'm a big pve'r. I did however enjoy having it at mydisposal when fighting nightsisters that manage to hit for 600 easy, i would beable to kd them and i'd have time to get intimdate off then put my armor on because ham costs are to high to really do that effectivly suited up.
Now I just send pet in first to get agro and stay at max melee range and hope I don't get hit to much. I'm still a strong believer in intimidate2 although it got borked today.
Sorry you feel that way rango. I have no problem soloing a majority of things now, including my 5k faction missions.
If you feel you are not getting the most of the class, please put some armor on. Ubese is good, but I wear composite. And then take up medicfor the stims, it's only 15 sp and a few k for a crate of stims. Tatooine sunburns are your friend, you get a few minutes where action moves cost next to nothing, and with crates fixed for chefs, finding one should be easy. Muon Gold spice works wonders for your mind, but please try not to puke everywhere. Cowardly Gurreks are the best no-creature handler pet, and sell for relatively cheap.Stormtroopers/Specforce faction pets give you help to prevent kiting and allow you to take on some of those tougher missions. And of course, the number one way to minimize deaths on missions: Group with your friends.
^those things will help you. As will trying out each and every single attack/special ability you have to see what else there is in our class. Our class is pikeman, not "Polearm Sweep 1"
Guys BOTTOM LINE here. The Patch is complete and utter crap. Now if some of you wannabe heros want to say that it's not that bad, then I've got a bag of magic beans I'd like to sell you. Facts are facts, the nerf crippled us so bad, that alot of us have quit the proff (Masters selling back points? **edit**?) or we are quitting the game.
If it looks and smells like crap guys, it usually is.
Ok, I've tried. I put forth ideas on how to solo, and tried to get people to open thier eyes, but its not working, since people are too stubborn to press a new button instead of the same old button.
Waste one of our 5 correspondant issues asking for KD back (which, judging from how the devs responded to our last issues wont happen) hope for the best, and if we get it back, have fun using your one move.
Honestly, why do you even bother wasting your sp to get master if you only need novice pikeman and intermediate defense.

When my eyes are "closed" as you stated, I was able to solo much harder mobs, Actually I was able to tank upto 3 with the Area KD. My combat effectivenesshas been more than halved. Sice those 3 mobs now drop me in 10-15 seconds. I did try a few strategies but I am about as combat effective as the local hotty stripper in the cantina.Obviously I am furious.
Im not trying to be mean here but silver surfer just doenst get it 98% of the pikeman class are in agonyover this new patch, and ithas decreased the effectiveness of our class by at least 50%. The kd was our only and best wep.
Ive read some of his posts about gee i dont use the kd that much i use other moves well thats bull. If your not using the kd then you werent doing much of anything. I feel that we need a better representative because you disagree with the vast majority of us, and who knows what your telling SOE.If your gonna represent this class then you need to tell SOE how the majority of us feel, and not your gee the kd timer isnt that bad guys bull crap it has effectivelycrippled us.
Most of us are either switching or quitting doesnt that tell you something geesh. If your gonna continue as our voice do it right, or STEP DOWN. Like i said this isnt out of meaness but our class needs some critical help, and soon are we will become extinct.
read facts before you post, try my messages to SOE, then some of the posts I have made on previous topics. I have written a long message and floated it up for everyone to see under the thread in which you had posted on with this same concern.
Anyone agree with him? Have I failed you guys?
