Pikeman Archive

I saw it on my action list, but I don't know what it's for, when I should use it or what it does. How about an explanation?

I believe CoB is broken for Pikeman and Teras Kasi Artists....But basically it's supposed to dramatically increase your Block Counterattack defense blah blah...basically, it's an attempt to make Melee a Tank......

it decreases the amount of dammage I take because I can't use specials while in CoB, withoug comming out of it.

Oh and it sends me this neat message "Your mind focuses on defence" or somethng like that.

I tried it before I got my holocron and it was awesome! I had something like 10 counterattacks in a row (still wondering why I haven't blocked yet, but counterattacks are just as good ). It works(worked) perfectly well for me.

You can use specials while inside CoB. As said above, it dramatically increases your chance to block/counterattack/dodge. And in our combat log, what most often shows up as counterattack is actually a block, you can verify this yourself by dueling someone and asking when they see in their combat log, they will see block. CoB works pretty well for pikeman, not as well as swordsmen's, but better than TKA's which seems to be kind of broken from their accounts.

You can indeed use specials with CoB up, It works as good as can be expected for me. Eats up my mind tho.

when I use a special I get a message "your thoughts drift away from the center" or somehting like that.

I see counterattack in the combat log, but still take dammage when I counter.

I love the text you get when your CoB ends.

CoB is working great... but the Time CoB is active is defently toshort. Also if i go into CoB while fighting i loos half of mind... i dont know is that the cost of the CoB or was it a mind attack ...

I gave CoB a whirl last night... thank God for warcry...

Remind me why we gladdly lapped up this stupid ability instead of getting passive defense?

That was not a mind attack, that was the cost of CoB.

CoB servers a definite purpose - it givesa little help to melee types who do not have medic trained or do have medic trained but do not have access to powerful stim's (like B's crafted with all advanced components).

I find that it's cheaper mind-wise to heal myself twice than it is to use CoB. Since mind is all that matters, and I get more H and A from two heals than I save with a CoB, I don't use CoB any more. It's amusing, but as long as I can heal myself for 600 pointsper shot, it just doesn't compare.
