Got this question from a TKM (surprise!)... I answered: "Well,I maybe not have the need to be in PvP so much.."

"So? Pikeman sux anyway man! Change to TKA,it ooooowwwnzzz!!)

"Yep,thats why I aint TKA,coz it owns...I rather fight on as a Pikeman than walk around as a oh-the-devs-love-me-so-much sign above my head!"

Then he started with some #¤%¤ and #&&¤/ and called me lamer. Now whos the lamer?

You dont like what I post?

There is nothing I can care less about than that.

I am a pikeman for the following reasons:

I like real-life polearms

I enjoy playing the pikeman, its fun and unique

People hate losing to us

I have hope we will be better

I wanted to be unique. I know there aren't that many pikemen around, and in my guild (Blackhawks, on Intrepid), there's another guy working his way up the pikeman tree. I for one find it more fun than unarmed/TK, plus the moves look good, and it does really well in PvE.

Its fun, plus everyone and their mom is either TKM or fencer, to many uber wannabees so I felt the need to be different. Well, u can look at my sig and see I dont care about power and uberness, I just play the professions I like and enjoy.

I love staffs in RL, so I picked one up on my first dayt in SWG. Fell in love with it.

I'm pikeman because:

1) it looks really cool

2) it's nice to be a somewhat unique profession

3) no one else in my fairly large guild (RAID: Radiant) is

4) I like hitting things with long pointy objects

Good thread. Those guys pretty much covered it. I made my second character, Darkallah, a pikeman because I wanted a challenge (Echko is a wookiee bh, a little too much of a challenge), and I figured it would be fun to beat up the people who belittled this profession so much. There is a certain sense of accomplishment when people send you tells about how they must have done a stealth fix to pike overnight, because there's no way they could lose to one with their current functionality. I also like the fact that pikeman can play such a balanced group role in larger skirmishes. I love AE attacks, and enjoy running through other groups swinging at their knees with lances laced with poison and disease.

i ve tried most professions (not complete cos im not a holo grinder) and i always find pikeman the most fun, also i like being diffrent, and i like killing NS so it all kinda works out,

o and hasnt it always been mans dream to have a large staff in his hand.....

I am a Pikeman becuase:

The animations ROCK!!

I saw that everyone complained, so I figured challenge would be good.

I don't see many Pikeman and I really don't wanna be a cardboard cut out template

I see the potential for greatness (If a few things get tweaked)

I've often fantasized about learning to wield a staff or boe IRL.
