Thread: Found out some bad news this weekend......

Apparently Pikeman is worse off than we thought. I hope the developers "fix" this unbalance, however my confidence in that is not so high.


I found out Fencer and Teras Kasi both have 7x damage modifiers on their master specials. How did I find this out? Talking to a fencer after one hit my guild mate for 1429 pvp damage with a 400 damage stun baton. After talking to him for a while I have also learned that he consistantly hits for more damage with his 300 damage stun baton than Vaetian does with his 1k damage LVA.


So this is correct then?


Teras Kasi - Unarmed Hit 3 - 7x

Fencer - One-Handed Hit 3 -7x

Swordsman - Two-Handed Hit 3 - 4x

Pikeman - Polearm Hit 3 -3-4x (uncomfirmed, but leaning towards 4)


How in the world do the developers screw this up this bad. I dont think I have ever hit for more than 1300 pvp damage with my 1k damage LVA.

i dont' think this is right.


The thing is...if you have a weapon with...i dunno...130-500 damage and AP2 here is what happens.


130-500 X 1.87 = 243-935 becouse for some reason all weapons have this modifer on them before anything else.


Polearm hit 3 = X4 i understand.... so 243-935 X 4 = 972-3740that's what you would be looking at damage wise...


AP2 will add another 25% then another 25% to a target with AR0 i belive...so....

1488-5844 damge on any given hit, toa standing target with AR0.


i think that's right.


Given that you could infer that an axe with 1k damage or so COULD do any where from 3000-12000 on any given hit.


Something liek that anyway.

So I would be hitting from 750-3000 pvp damage then? Against unarmored people. Or 600-2400 PvP damage against armored people? i guess I have never watched myself hit for the max damage on the LVA.

If TKA had a 7x multiplier on uh3, we would be seeing the end of the world. Locusts would be devouring Endor and snakes would be eating babies on Naboo. Are you sure that 1429 hit with the stun baton wasn't the number from the combat log?

The combat log said "***** hits you with Cho Mukfor 1429 damage, your Composite Helmet blocks 259 damage. (This kinda confused me cause it is 40% stun) Using One-Handed Hit 3 and a 400 damage stun baton.


A blue 1170 floated above his head.

It's suspicious and a little strange and just doesn't make any sense. For this to be accepted as any kind of evidence, we would have to have it tested and verified.

400 dmg stun baton
1.86 std melee multiplier
0.25 pvp multiplier
0.5 AR1 reduction
0.4 stun resist reduction.

Without using the 1hh3 multiplier, we're looking at: 400 * 1.86 * 0.25 * 0.5 * 0.6 = 55.8. Now, even if 1hh3 was 7x, you would have a hit of 391 max against someone with no toughness or mitigation whatsoever in that armor. The amounts you are saying the combat log and floaty reported make no sense.

Well, I had asked another known fencer on Naritus for some clarification cause i was bewildered. He told me those numbers are normal against that weapon. This is what he told me.


400 damage

x1.87 Melee mulitplier

x7 damage modifier for One Handed Hit 3

x1.5 formelee up against a ranged profession

x0.25 pvp reduction

x0.5 for AR reduction

=982 now that I see it. However my math at home came out to 1500. I am at work now and I cant remember if there is something I am missing.


Something goofy is happening with PSG's right now. The armor should have at least blocked it down to 900 damage from 1500.


When I get home I will post a screenshot of the combat log he sent me.

Well, there is no 1.5x damage, and you're missing the 40% reduction for the stun resists...And just the combat log will not show the multiplier, there is no way we can get that information from the combat log against another player. The most reliable way to get the multipliers is to repeatedly strike a lair (100 times or so) with a kinetic AP0 weapon. Then the combat log will show what we need. In all seriousness, the damage being met out by fencers and TKAs would be much higher if it was 7x. They would outdamage everyone in pve as well.

Sup Regnor... 600-2400 sounds right .. If you think about it Pike is a really great prof it is by far the most funI have ever had with a prof... yet I do understand why alot of you say we suck at pvp .. but I owned some unarmored ppl lol.... but with armor on we hit for like best to nothing.. we are really like a med ap tk with bad accuracy.. but stil cool

your figures are wrong, i guarantee they dont have 7x mods. there are too many variables such as AP bonus etc. plus with the fencer, you probably saw "scatterhit" which hits all 3 pools and adds the numbers together in the combat spam making it look 3 times as powerful as it really is.

No where in his post did he say that his guild mate had any armor on at all if i missed it im sorry so it is possible and the fencer could be using the higher min than max dmg ackly baton that are uneffected by mitigaion so it is possible without armor

Just so you know, one of the attacks a fencer has (scatter shiek, I think), hits all three pools...The number you are seeing (1429) is the total of all three pools added together...Even if the player was wearing a 40 percent stun helm, thats still ALOT of damage creeping thru to the mind...


Sucks for anyone but a fencer, I know....Whats worse, one of my guildmates looted exceptional Acklay bones (max damage 690 unsliced...I think it is somewhere in the neighborhood of 900 without a powerup). The damage that thing does is insane, and he looted about 6 of them...Needless to say, three of my guildies are now Master Fencers, and carrying exceptional Acklay bone stun batons....Freaking nasty, man
