I understand there is a Scatter hit. It's a very good special to use, however it was not used in this instance. I said in one of the posts he use Cho Muk, which is the name for One-Handed Hit 3.


I guess you dont understand who told me this. He watches the fencer forums, he continually discusses things with the Fencer Coorespondent, and has been fencer for ages. He told me there is not a definite number, but from his research in this, he and the fencer coorespondent have found it is close to a 7x damage modifier.


There is a damage modifier against ranged professions for melee. I am not sure if you ever read the patch notes about 7 months ago, I believe it said, "melee now has a bonus vs. ranged." The guild member was only rifleman, no melee mitigation. So the fencer would have had a bonus vs. him.


There wouldnt be anything different with mitigation, because the Rifleman doesnt have melee damage mitigation.


The fact of the matter is the Fencer hit my guild member for 1429 pvp damage with a 400 damage stun baton. He was fully armored in 40% stun, master rifleman, and the fencer hit him with One-handed Hit 3 (Cho Muk).


Fel'droma is a Pikeman now? What happened to your stacking template? Get bored with it? Yeah, I hit unarmored people hard and armored individuals I might as well keep my DOT lances equipped.

I'm reaching here, but...


Is the armor hole back, in a very rare form perhaps? This number does seem pretty ridiculous (I trust antares' uber number crunching abilities)...


Like I said, just a thought that crossed my mind. Do we really trust that a bug is fixed when it appears in the patch notes?

Ok, then that was changed.

As far as the armor, he was wearing 40% stun and a 45% stun psg. PSG's are extremely buggy right now, and for some reason the combat screen only showed that his helmet blocked about 250 damage. Doesnt quite add up I know. It should have blocked 872 damage but it didnt, thats a bug with the armor.


What doesnt make sense is how a fencer can hit for 1429 with a 400 damage stun baton with one-handed hit3. I had asked the guy many times and his answer everytime was he has been hit with that baton many times in duels, and those are normal numbers for a baton like that. He says he hits harder with his (exceptional) gaderiffi baton. Imagine a guy weilding that 900 damage stun baton. You could one hit kill armored PC's with that.


Vaetian perhaps you could get Xing on here to explain what is happening with this. It made perfect sense when he was explaining it, and he came up with the math to come out with about 1429 damage.

Cho Mok (1 handed hit 3) is a 5X damage multiplier. I verified this. After some research on damage calculations, I no longer feel there is a legit answer to how that number was calculated exacly. My only concern is whether you where ever able to see screen shots of the actual incident or if we're still working of your team mate's memory. Submit a /bug report is all I can suggest if you honestly feel that something was in error.

It was not off memory, the guild member took a screenshot of the combat log.We fought rzzq again the other day and only saw about 650 coming off that stun baton. (pretty sure it was him again)


Thanks for posting on this Xing. Perhaps I will do a little more investigation. Perhaps submit a /bug report on it. If nothing else there is a bug with the armor and psg. I will work on getting a screenshot of the combat log. He keeps sending me the screenshots but I cant get them on my hotmail account.

There was also talk of a bug that caused your armor's defense not to roll when using Synthsteak but it was never verified that I know of. If this where the case, you wouldn't get an AP reduction (50%), and then stun resist (39-40%), only the Synthsteak's damage reduction value... Dunno.


Nothing surprises me in this game.

I wouldn't rule out those numbers, I know that the carbineer's crippling shot has a 7.5 x multiplier whereas the rifleman's strafe 2 shot has a much lower multiplier. But of course in the context of the guns we all know who will do more damage. TKAs and fencers have some of the lowest damage weapons in the game, 7x multiplier doesn't seem out of the question to me.

Things are so screwy these days with multipliers changing or not changing. After being at fan fest I have gathered everything is being changed and fixed with the new system.


BTW: All weapons will be "rebalanced" with the upcoming change. So plan on losing a certain % on all your LVA's.

Nope nope .. Cripple is a 5x .. but all ranged have a 1.5x "hidden" mod likeall meleehave a 1.86x ... so yeah Cripple is a 7.5x WITH the 1.5x .. same for Strafe II btw .. it's a 5x too .. and 7.5x with the "hidden" modifier ..


But saying carbineer has a 7.5x mod is like saying we have a a 7.44x and fencers a 9.3x because of our "hidden" 1.86x mod
