Thread: Ultimate dot machine
Somehow that's less grating than the "I'm an uber leet pikeman with incredible skills because I have a 600-strength mind fire lance" posts we get.

My new philosophy is that everyone with a mind fire lance should use it at all times and kill as many Jedis as possible while yelling about how their mind fire lance allowed them to do it. Make it just as big a problem as CMs were and maybe the devs will finally see the light and remove all the **edit**ing DoT weapons from the game.

The problem is most are shouting "Never underestimate a pikeman", with a health/action disease, an action poison, action fire, mind poison, all stacked on top of each other some even double stacked, ticking away as they are trying to spam warcry or keeping you KD'ed

I prefer stacking a 277 mind fire, a 143 mind fire, a 222 mind poison, a 278 mind poison, and a215 mind poison.

Pikeman is NOT, I repeat NOT supposed to be a DoT-based profession. It takes no skill to use a DoT, they do the fighting for you, you don't even have to use a special, nor have anything more than novice pikeman to use them. It's absurd to say that you have to be a doctor. That shows exactly that they are overpowering and cheap.
When people started looting more DoT polearms, people began taking up pike just for those, then proclaiming how amazing pikeman was, overshadowing real issues because now people began to see pike as what, overpowering? Pikeman is not a profession based on DoTs, you should not be required to have a huge skill point sink to play the game effectively, and we can complain about people taking polearms II to use their infinite use mind fire NS lance they purchased, then running around wreaking havok all we want to. Those who want to complain about pikeman being twisted can and will continue to complain.

And where is the skill involved in that? A 5 year old can stack DOT's. You're one of those people that caused me to never use my master pikeman tag, I was proud when I gained it but now I feel only shame for what we have become thanks to people like you. You are one of those people that send me tells to train them whenever I get online. All the people I got into pikeman refuse to use DOT's each and everyone agreeing that it takes no skill at all to used them.
I want to see this profession getting the fixes that pikeman have been begging for since the beginning, these DOT's are keeping people from seeing the bugs that are presentin pikeman. All people see now is DOT, DOT, DOT. We are not combat medics. I used to have apowerfulunlimited use mind poison lance, I regret to have sold it instead of destroyedit, justbecause I needed the credits at the time.
The fact that I don't have doc shouldn't make me a liability and now with the new poison and disease resist buffs, I'm not anymore either. Pikeman was never intended to be a DOT using profession but at one point nightsisters started getting killed by the thousands on a daily basis and suddenly people noticed how easy it is to use a DOT pike to win a fight.
If you want to mindpoison/disease someone to dead become a combat medic like the original poster and leave us alone so we can get the fixes we want, without being stuck with a broken profession that the devs don't dare to touch because of all the DOT monkeys running around who'd become overpowered when we do get our fixes.

I agree it isn't supposed to be a dot based profession, but to bad it is in pvp. We suck without them. I never said you have to be a doctor, I just said if you pvp you know you are a liability. Anyranged profession with ranged support 4 would make very quick work of this build, with a dizzy attack then supression fire. Just because you can't win you complain? Please. He can play the game however he wants, and thumbs up to that. What we need to give a thumbs down to is the devs for making pikemen horrible without dots.
