I got this high damage pike (LVA). I was wondering, I was looking at the DPS calculator, and I was checking the stats. Does saber or jedi toughness act like melee toughness?

I'm using the stats of my 3.7 215-862 LVA at speed cap calculations.

i hear that high damage pikes can do pretty well against jedi, and they seem to do pretty good from what i have seen. .. . .

are you taking into account that the jedi will be using Synth ( any real jedi would, right?) and they probably have thak and 2 shots of brandy. . . . . .

saber block only blocks ranged attacks, but about the jedi toughness, you may want to surf the jedi forums for that one. . . .

Well i just took down our servers most arrogant and childish Knight with my 60-196 LVA with 218 strength, 78% potency action poison and leghit3 and actionhit2, granted he was distracted with another overt but still got the hits in on me >.< lol. (and Pike is quite good at defending dervish from looking at my combat log lol)

Dont bother with this tactic, I have a jedi and have been master pikeman for a long time, only combat prof I ever mastered. Every Jedi after MLS picks up 4004 heal wich allows him to cure dizzy for 50fc. Most jedi will use exoprotien vs synthsteak because of the filling. Use whatever is fastest with lowest ham cost to beat the exo out of him(he should be beating on your mind with a 1h). If force armor is equiped use your high damage axe and drain his force fast as possible.

But the best way of all is to use fire, only a master healer can cure.

To answer the question of the original poster - Yes, Lightsaber and Jedi toughness will both reduce melee damage. A master Lightsaber/master Defender has the equivalent of roughly +75 toughness.

I thought area 2 would be good for jedi......the area 2 will apply dizzy/stun faster than a jedi can cure it if ur speed capped, also the damage multiplyer is decent on the special esp. when the jedi is on his/her back. Area 2 and sweep 2 are sick...... i found i used area 2 much more than hit 3 since it has no posture change to ruin kd and quite easily applies 2 states when speed capped. Also MLS jedi have 55 toughness.....MDEF has 45....and force armor gives 45% damage reduction....FA1 is 25%. The toughest jedi with MLS, MDEF and FA2 will only recieve 13.6% damage b4 the 75% pvp reduction. Also consider that an LVA has AP2 ..........against something with 0 AP rating damage should be increased by like 170%. Just a few things to chew on

IIRC, AP doesn't get factored in unless a player is actually wearing armor.

well...as master brawler/master pike using a 1053 max...i can pretty much crush any jedi...just keep them healing and you will win...because every heal is a 5 sec pause...good luck

This is correct. The AP bonus only comes into play if there's a non-zero resistance to the damage type.

This is why when using an LVA you'll do more damage to something with 10% kinetic resistance than you will to a vulnerable target.

wrong wrong wrong coldnt be more wrong. You can heal dizzy, but your still kd, and when your spamming area2, you get dizzy back on you as soon as you cure it, therefore, not allowing you to get up. Newb.

I dont have any problems getting back up, on any of my toons. Sure the dizzy resticks but usualy not till after you stand back up. All in all area2 dizzy does not stick that often. Even when speedcapped.
