In the coming combat revamp, special attacks to the mind are going to be taken out.
Yeah ... in 6 months
first off let me ask you two questions....
1, how do you like pikeman?
2. if you think that buffs and all are overpowered why use them??
I just today dropped MCH because as a TK my pets slow me down.... looking for a secondary profession to do and Pikeman seems to be an interesting combination with TK.

I love Pikeman ..that's why it wasn't a Whine or a Rant or something ...
Why do I use them .... because I'm a PvP player ... I do not PvE exept in the NS cave when I'm trying to find some good Lances ... Why am I a Pikeman if I'm a PvP player you'll ask ... well because I like Pikeman and want to stay pikeman period ...
But ... Armors and buffs are definitly overpowered Atm ... no one can deny it ... so you'll never see a "serious" PvPer unbuffed/Whitout armor ... but the 2 professions I choose because I like them are the only 2 profession whitout any means to counter buffs/Armors ... Kinda sad ... but I'm not here to be uber, I'm here to have fun ... so I'll keep the 2 professions I want to do huh =PPP

To the original poster: The reason you have an easy time vs. an elder is because she is a buggedMOB. With force debilitate, your buffs would have disappeared. I was a Carbineer and a Pikeman. Carbineers can hit mind with scatter shot 1 and 2. You should hang out more often at the nightsister stronghold. Pikeman hits the mind the hardest in PvP...... Severallancesthat are dropped, hit the mind pool with fire, poison, etc. I loved causing knockdown, dizzy, and mind poison toTKA's withjust two moves. After I dropped Pikeman I kept the lances. A L33T TKM/Master Fencerchallenged meto a duel andfell to my nightsister lance and my numerous warcries. It is obvious that Pikeman and Carbineer needs fixes, but nerfing armor and buffs would make it harder for you since you would get one-shotted.
Didn't know the Carbineers had a Mind attack ...well that's a great new =))
For the lances ... of course I knew about the Mind Fire/Poison lances ... and I'm using them myself ... but they are dropped weapons and quite hard to get ... we do not start with any Mind attacks ...
And the dots ...well now they can stop the fire with a Fireblanket (Quite rare granted) and the poison ... well there is a CM nerf comming soon hehe =P
Don't get me wrong ... I love Pikeman ... I was just pointing the fact that almost everyone have Mind/Stun attack exept us ...
Oh and ...about the Elder ... I Know the NS are bugged atm ... I even said it ... but even when they weren't ... I've killed an Elder with a group of 3 peoples ... And Kryats aren't bugged (At least I don't think so) and I've seen a Swordman soloing a Giant Kryat ... these kind of thing shouldn't happen =(
hehe I hear you, the only professons I find myself drawn to are CH and TK but the game becones stagnent when your maxed out in exp.... been maxed on both for about a month now and needed a change.
as a Zabrak I find without buffs I cant use anything above chitten, wich makes me a little mad..... so I don't unless I'm buffed use any.
as to the food's and buffs, I personnaly like them they let me fight longer and thus increase my funds.
Armour yes - but we are not disadvantaged - we rip up with poisons/fire. TKA Carbineer and Heavy Swordsmen are the worst of pvp - Carbineer just generally hurt cos they cant hit through armour, and they cant hit mind. The other two because their damage through armour is so minimal.
I can fight the heavy swordsmen in my guild(there are two a HeavySwordsmen/Pistoleer and a Swordsmen/Doc) - and they only stand a chance if i wear zero armour - and it took them a good ten or so duels to figure out how to win.
TKA are a joke vs. armour and Thakittilo

Everyone without stun damage is in the same position. It is not a TKA -only issue. Think we're any better off with our kinetic, electricity and maybe energy? Last time I looked, my composite was 80% kinetic, 75% electricity, 89% energy...

except for us and CMs
we are in the rather inique position of being able to bypass armour through the extensive use of DOTS - which really are easy to accumalate - maybe you wont get an uber mind fire - but if you have been playing for a while you can quite easily build a collection of mind dot lances - this makes us somewhat unique - this allows us to bypass armour - this allows us to target the mind pool.

True, I suppose. However, Fencers get that stun weapon at novice, as do riflemen. Swordsmen get mind bleeds as they go up their tree, as well as mind hits.. as do riflemen (and TKA, though I am not sure if they get bleeds, to be honest). Pistoleers' stun pistols come from Geo (this correct also?), and are not terribly difficult to get.
On the other hand, the DOTs that can make us competitive are -very- difficult to come by. The vast majority of our DOT lances are low damage (standard 7-133, 6.2 speed),have a 40 point health poison or disease, and some idiot is trying to sell it for 250k+. The really good ones are -very- hard to find, and chances are we will have to go buy them from someone else (unless we get lucky... I picked up a ~120ish mind poison VL for 30k).
You really can't say we're in a unique position to bypass armor when to do that, we have to go through more work than every other profession to do it (except carbineer).
