Thread: ok this is sad

The first smugglers had no problems finding locked containers to open.

But the newer smugglers do, like me for instance. I fly from Theed to Bestine to Coronet (and then back again) looking for locked containers and today I found one. The dude puts in the container in the window and then kinda waits for a while after I click accept. He then goes "Well?" (cancelling the trade, of course) and I'm like, "Well what?"

"Where's my money?"

"Your money? I'm not going to pay you to unlock your own container"

"Pfft nm then I've seen several smugglers paying people to unlock their own containers"

And then when I go to Coronet, sure enough someone was paying 500c to open people's containers.

That's pretty sad when we have to pay people to unlock THEIR containers just to gain EXP. (and you only gain if you actually unlock the thing, and at a 50/50 chance it takes a lot of containers)

Am I the only one who sees a problem with this?

In my PA, I just said "Give me all your locked containers so I can start slicing your weapons."

I got a little over 30 in one day.

Well I told my PA that I can slice containers now, unforteanately a lot of them are crafters (which is fine since ITEC = Independent Trade & Exploration Company) so not many had any locked containers.

Oh hey, we're on the same server. I believe ITEC is just about 5 minutes away from my PA's village. Not sure...there's so many of them. Outside Coronet city?

Anyways, I've wrote your name down, and since I have a ton of extra containers, you can have them. In game name is Sparticus.

Don't really see a problem with it. I found a guy in Theed who had 18 of them, and paid him 18,000 credits for them. Got a hold of 20 molecular clamps, and I breezed up to Slicing 1 in about 5 minutes.

Hmm yes we're near Coronet and I know I've seen you around, may of even walked into your house (I walked into a house that had tons of containers everywhere that were still locked and I really wanted to meet the owner lol)

lol, thats kind of crazy imo. If you want to spend your money on containers to level then by all means do it. But I'm with Shiva on this one, I am not going to pay somone to unlock their containers. I have however offered spice to those in which I fail.

Yah I do that

My macro is something like this "Opening your locked containers! I have a 50%chance of success and if I fail you get a free unit of spice! You win either way! Also tell me which wire to pull (blue or red)."

When I started slicer at the very beginning of the game I offered people 500 cr to try to unlock containers and let them keep it too. Some smuggler tried to tell me to just offer to "Open your containers for free". Glad I didn't listen to him. I was first Slicer 4 on server.

People aren't going to stop having fun just so they can bring you containers and help you when the containers always have crap inside. The 500 cr is for the hassle of finding you.

I have lots of containers from pretty high level foes now...still crap inside.

you could always talk to the higher lvl slicers in the city. I usually send ppl with containers to lower lvl smugglers if i knowthey're in town.

I auctioned 500 credits for containers, but only when I was250 exp points away from my next tier. I don't think its normal to do that. I have even gotten up to 250 credits from people to open thier contiainer.
