Hiyas everyone. I'm currently a master doctor and starting the long road to master pikeman as well. Y'all think this is a good idea? I will have the points to master both and I think the combination will be very strong. So far I love the Pikeman profession and can totally see myself mastering this. My question is: What area of Pikeman should I dump my skill pts into first? I'm currently 0/0/1/1.

I have found that being Master Doc/Pikeman is about the only way to be viable in working your way towards Master - unless you have a good friend that can buff you for free or feel like doing CH or picking up an extra combat skill...Plus, the extra money from buffing isn't bad, either...
As far as working up the skill tree, decide if you prefer to be offensive or defensive and work up either the Stances line or Def. line, picking up the support boxes as the combat XP allows...I would save the Offensive line till last, as there are no skill bonuses in that whole line.
Personally, I went up Def, then Stances....
As far as getting Pike XP goes, I'd re-locate to Dantooine and start wiping out Huurtons and Pikets.

I'm doing master doc/master pikeman too... I did pikeman on my previous char and I loved it - so I'm eager to start heading back up the brances again.
i'm 2 crafting boxes away from master doc so I can only buff in the 300ish range, which barely gets the armor on. Even with these minor buffs, I see the doc really helping. Cure state is what is helping the most it seems - there is nothing worse than a stun or blind on a pikeman...

I was master pikeman and 4/4/4/2 doctor when I gave up my med skills. Haven't regretted it once.
Your pike ascension should be
0/0/1/x -- 4/0/1/x -- 4/0/4/x -- 4/4/4/x -- master

This is the way I went to. AfterTKA got flooded I moved from there to the pikeman profession. It's nice being able to remove all your bad states i.e. blind,dizzy,etc. and also buff yourself. Since master brawler will be the only thing worth getting as a pikeman unless you want to use another weapon master doc fits quite nicely.

I've had that template for about 7 weeks now, and let me tell you, I've never been happier.
Not much of a pvp'er, so I love being a pikeman, lot's of fun and very effective against NPC's. Being a master doc has come in very handy as I can go on an 8+ hour hunting/looting trip without having any worries. Buffing makes me pretty much invincible to about 95% of the npc's out there, and with the addition of cure disease/poison and heal state, there's not much out there that can do serious damage or slow me down with states.

(a) LVA [until getting atleast Special abilities II you may want to use a normal lance]
(b) None (am a wookie) but I would reccomend good ubese or composite.
(c) I don't configure my stats, I just get buffed cuz as of right now all my points go into mind/focus/willpower then the rest go into health/action
(d) I use lots of specials lol

I'm about to master Pike (4344) and have been a master Doc since Nov. or so. From leveling pike, the combo with master doc is great. Buffing yourself is great, and removing blind and dizzy is key... nothing like a BLINDED pikeman trying to hit something.

Well, I'm a 4-4-4-2 Doc, and a 0-0-0-1 pike. Yesterday I went to Dathomir with some Enhance D packs .. was taking down quite a few critters - no problems - made me feel immortal!
I was, however, reminded of my mortality by a nightsister ranger... "You are being choked by the force. You are choking... you are intimidated... you are dizzy... you have been knocked down... you have been incapacitated... you have been slain"
Great Fun.
Any pikemen eat those nightsisters for breakfeast?? I wanna go after them when I hit master!
