Agree with all that but it would also come down to their other skills, like if one was a pikeman/tailor and one was a fencer/doc

As a fencer, having a very nice ackley-made stun baton that does high damage is required for PvP. Assuming the fencer has that, all they really have to do is land on dizzy/kd, wail away, and it's all over.

As a pikeman, we have a hard time doing serious damage in PvP because of damage mitigation (cause our weapons have a huge range). The workaround to this are the DoTs.

If the two came across each other (assuming the fencer had the ackley baton and the pikeman had some sort of insane DOT weapon) the winner would be the fencer if he could land the kd/dizzy before the pikeman dot landed or the pikeman if he landed the DoT first without getting kd/dizzy stuck on him.

That's my take at least.

see, with the state of this game right now its much harder to say who would win in anything

Does the Pikeman have his sliced/ADK PSG

what stat does the pikemans DOT's hit?

does the warcry get off in time? did the stomach timing work out right >?<

it also depends on the person knowing their proffesion and using hte correct attacks.. . .does the Pikeman have uber 40/90/80 armor? does the fencer? whats the max on the pikemans damage pike?

Yeah I agree with you 100%, so many variables to consider.

Here's one question to consider, though: Given the scenario of who would win in a fight, pikeman or fencer ... do you see any scenario where the pikeman would win WITHOUT a DoT weapon?

While I'm sure we could come with a few cases where great pikeman tactics could take down a tactically poor fencer, I still feel that in most cases, if you subtract the DOT from the Pikeman, he gets owned.

dueled a fencer last night, he had great stun batons (424 max dmg), and great armor, and he still went down. KD'ed he was taking 430-530 damage through armor
