A woody eh?? Hmmm, try a metal staff or a reinforced combat staff. Might work better.

I think the range for Pike area attacks needs to be increased... the reason why you usually KD only 1 target is because the one targeted you can hit like 12m away... the others you need to be like 2m away for it to take effect... and with more accuracy your more likely to do a KD... same goes for area1 and 2, spin1 and 2, and area stun. Lastnight i couldnt KD a rancor for my life... i killed maybe 15 rancors and KD like 2 of them... dizzy like 1 which the dizzy just wore out anyway and did nothing...


dont get me wrong... pikeman is fun and i enjoy it. But i would NEVER pvp as a pikeman and I always ALWAYS have to hunt buffed else im useless...

When running, I very much like the wild flailing of our weapons. Could we run with pikes like riflemen run with guns? That looks far more reasonable, and the animation is already in the system.

I like alot of the ideas i'm reading! Area bleed, a must for an area attack profession, I'd love to see the area KD actually work, but i'd like its graphic changed.. To me, if i'm doing an area KD I wanna literally sweep the ground with my staff, takin everying off it's feet, this weird little twirly that looks too much like Area attack 1 doesn't seem to me like it would knock anything down.. I'd also like to see the Sweep 1 graphic, look more like I hook the leg, and kick them at the same time.. Again more realistic to me on what a sweep should look like.


Mounted combat, NO! Unless you were to mix the CH profession in, you have No hope of having a good mount for the fight, and if it draws agro just once, yer back on your feet anyway. To me, it's just a useless idea, we can all attack on the back of an animal with base attack anway, just leave it as is.


Hmmmm.. To me, my wish list is eye candy, and some new weapons and maybe a couple new attacks. I have one idea for a class defining skill/attack. Available to Master Pikeman only, I want to see the Impale Strike! Alot like charged shot, damages your weapon, but has a chance of instant kill on whatever it is you hit with it. Granted one could argue that all the melee could use an attack like this, but i'm using a spear!! I want to ram that thing through somethings heart and drive it to the ground as I should!!!!


Leg hit 2, disgusting graphic, looks like i'm kickin em in the knee, and for a second tier attack I think that is just wrong.


I LOVED the KD and stick em idea though! Gives us something to truly be proud of, not just the ability to knock them down, but keep them there! Also, javelins would be a neat thing to see, gone would be the days of kiting, no more "run it's a melee guy, keep at 10m and he can't do anything (lunge is cool, but sometimes people are too quick on the recovery for it to work effectively).


And who ever said force lance first.. KUDOS, cept i'm hearing things about schematic drops off of NightSisters for those, but i'd personally like to see them as a Weaponsmith item myself. And while we're at it, Bump VL to medium armor peirce the same as LVA. Electric damage fine, but the ar1 on the thing seriously limits it's usefulness.

Second: Master pikeman sux if u are not buffed and ready to use food and drugs, and your targed have none of those things


Third: Even with +100 to accurracy, u will fail lots of attacks so will be allmost imposible to kill a ranged player.


Fourth: Specials attacks?? ROFLMAOH!!!! I spent 300 hundred HAM each time i use one of them if i am not buffed and that is a disadvantage when u are fighting a ranged player (Marksman profesion spent just around 100 per special attack using just health and action bar, when we use all of them....)


Fifth: Comps armors looks like to be make agaisnt pikeman, 65% kinetic effec, 80% to electrical and kinetic effec on Adv ones


Sixth: Massive dmg doesnt exist for us, most of profesions makes more dmg than us, and of course dont speak about famous commando's plamethrowers, bleeding? it sux if u compare it with the fire


Seventh: Could someone explain me how a TKA have a higher range than us?? hands-pike, hands-pike, hands-pike... something is wrong there


Eight: Vibro lance is worth than long vibro axe, and u get the second one FIRST!!!! yeah yeah, vibro lances are electrical dmg blah blah blah... maybe its a different kind of dmg but most of the times, is more useful to use the lva than the vl, even if the mob has a highter kinetic effec, the diference must be at least of the 40%


Nineth: We are not able to use special attacks when we are chasing an enemy, just the polearmlungue u just can use the other ones when the targer is 1mt away from u, and that is quite difficult when its running and it run at the same speed than we do

Well, my wish is that the DEVELOPERS play a generic pikeman again a generic TKM, Swordsman, and Fencer. Make both humans with the same stats and no armor. Then go out and find a mob and use specials. That is my wish!!! I want them to see how horrible they desgined the pike profession and only that will show them.


That is the only way they will UNDERSTAND and until they understand how the profession does NOT stack up with the rest NOTHING will ever happen.


It is not about give us this and take away that. The Devs state they want BALANCE. So balance the melee professions as a whole so they are on equal footing withat least fencer andswordsman (TKM get special attention soI dont really care about them). Then proceed to balance the melee and ranged professions. It would seemmore logicalto do it that way.


As far as new weapons go, Whatever is in the Star Wars world. I know that the Imperial Guard seem to be using some high speed double bladed weapon. I think someon posted several links to that on the first page of this thread, VERY NICE INDEED.

Well okies I have been a pikeman for about 2 1/2 weeks now. So I feel I can add my wishlist.


1) Yes we need better defensive bonuses I mean come on we have a big pole swinging around in front of us it should be tougher to hit us.


2) A new lower HAM cost weap would be very nice or work the flaming issues with the Ham costs on the specials!! I can maybe make one attempt at a sweep per mob with out risking too much of my mind to risk incap unless I am eating muon like a drug fiend.


3) That pinning move would be great, and sounds reasonable too, or maybe an uber dizzy attack that will keep the bastage from getting up for a few secs giving us time to get a few good hits on him. I know if I got hit in the head by a skilled person weilding a polearm I would thinkI would be pretty dern dizzy myself.


4) I do think we should also be the king of erea effect dmg for melee. I mean if a guy carrying a long pole swings it in a circle we should be able to knock quite a few creatures down and at an especially better efficiency then any of the other professions.


5) I would also like to see somthing along the lines of the tka meditation for us.


Right now I see the Pikeman as broken as the warriors are inEQ. Atleast the warriors on EQ had Huge amounts of HP tomake them kinda useful though.What are we?


Are we tanks? well then give us abilities that will make us live longer while standing toe to toe with acreature or player.


If we aren't supposed to be Tanks. Give us some type of moves that will set us apart from the other classes that either dmgs a group of targets better then any other class, or knocks down more targets and have a much greater range and dmg.


Lastly once more fix our flamming HAM costs!! If you are going to give us better moves, atleast make it so we can use them!! TKA's can unequip their weaps to work around the ham costs of having a weap equipped, but pikeman don't have that ability.

in all fairness, i think they did a good job with the speed of pikeman....there are only big speed gaps when using a slow weapon early on, or with specials on a slow weapon at master....for the sake of my personal experience i will refer from a masters POV....


Pikeman do do very fast attacks, watch any special move we have and it is a flurry of actions....they just always ad up to 1 number instead of a bunch of smaller ones...and with any weapon in the pikeman arsenal except maybe for the staffs, there would be ALOT of down time between these flurries of moves, becouse doing all that so fast would quickly exaust you, as it takes momentum from your entire body to swing the pikes and keep switiching directions withought loosing force....


Plus...at master your auto attack is very very fast...even with the LVA...


The HAM costs are terrible, but we can deal with that, with a little effort on our part. Out of ALL of the problems with our class, HAM costs are the ones that i mind the least...


think about it...


lets say every class was generally the same, but one was slow, one was weak, one missed alot, and one had high HAM costs.....
If pikeman were the ones with high HAM it would rock becouse we can deal withthat problem.....
So if i had to pick a weakness, it would be that.
being slow, inacurate, weak, AND miss alot, on the other hand...is a baaaaaaddddd thing.


We did get a boost in accuracy, by about +30 or +50 a patch or so ago....
but at the same time everyone got HUGE boosts to melee defense, and in the next patch after that the NPCs got huge boosts to melee defense, so even at master i am back to missing a frustraiging amount of times.


I don't really have anything to add to the wishlist here. The point of this post was just to give you all something to think about when thinking of your ideas.

In the right place.


Sunder-Gives the pikeman the ability to essentially break an opponents weapon, making it unusable. Having the weapon break permanently would obviously cause some outcrys from other classes, so instead of reducing the weapon to 0/1000 it should take 50-100 status points from the weapon and make it unusable for a certain amount of time, longer than warcry. Perhaps a 'fix' option should appear on the weapon in the inventory and give a countdown till you can use it again after hitting that option.


Disarm--This would basically be like the younger brother to sunder, allowing the pikeman to disarm the opponent for a set amount of time, though shorter than sunder.


We would of course run into problems when people just unequip their weapon and equip another, maybe another ability above sunder would make it impossible for them to equip another item for a certain amount of time.


Personally I want our "breaking" moves that we do with our specials to actually break the targets arms or legs, making them unable to attack with them, kinda like how blind makes them unable to see, a medic would be able to repair the limb like they do other status attacks like bleed.


I just felt the need to post something constructive after being a bit disheartened about our beloved class earlier.
