I guess this is as good a thread as any to post this. Maybe the praise thread. I don't know if this is a rant or not. Anyway, here it is.
I have several jedi friends. I tank for them all the time. My jedi friends have jedi friends. My one friend, lets call him X has a jedi friend, who we will call asshat. Asshat is a few boxes short of becoming a dark jedi master. Asshat earlier in the day kicked the living hell out of X and another one of my friends because she healed X during the fight. I've dueled X, and he is not a force to be reckoned with.
So after X and myself and our mutual friend have finished hunting, he heads back to town and I go out to kill some nightsisters. After slaying some sissies, I'm ready to head back when X sends me a /tell. "Hey, Asshat is at the outpost taking on all comers. Hes dueling everyone." Really? So I ask X if it would be wrong to use disease and mind fire DOTs in a duel against a jedi. X replies "hell yeah its ok! Maybe if you beat him up enough you can take him down a peg".
So I go back to the outpost and find Asshat and sure enough hes standing in the middle of the outpost looking for fights with his dark jedi tag up. I approach Asshat and ask him if he would like to duel. I say to him 'do anything you like to me but no db'. He rejects my duel and says 'well if I lose you're going to db me so why can't I db you?' I laugh and tell him I am a friend of X and wouldn't db him and if any of the rebs who were stupid enough to try to attack him, I'd kill them also. So Asshat agrees to the duel with "It doesn't matter anyway, you're not going to hurt me anyways"
So I start to duel and I hit him with the mind fire DOT, then my disease DOT and then switch to my LVA. 15 seconds later he has taken much damage and he ends the duel. I ask him what the problem is and he replies "you're a bleep defense stacking bleed". I reply 'yeah so, is that illegal or something'. "you bleep guys are going to be so dead once they nerf your stack'. Then he says "hey let me try something else", and wants to duel again.
This time he pulls out a double bladed saber and we duel again. Same result as the first time. I start to do considerable damage to him, he quits the duel and again "man none of my moves do a damn thing to you, I can't even land a hit. You defense stackers are going to be sorry tomorrow". Thats the last I saw of him.
So now I guess I'm dead tomorrow because of the defense stack nerf, and I will no longer be owning dark jedi. I never thought to mention to the fool that my 80% kinetic armor might have had something to do with the fact that he couldn't do any damage to me. I don't know why everyone else seems to be able to hit me just fine but because this one guy couldn't I'm a 'bleep defense stacker'.
Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if I'm sorry.
I chose it because I thought it was one of the most interesting combat professions. I chose it before I knew of all the cool looted weapons we can get from the NS. I also don't see many pikemans around. I don't do PvP, I hunt for the fun of it.
I realize we do have all these wonderful looted weapons with DOT's. I have a few myself. But MOST of them do such a small DOT that its pointless compared to the massive damage you can cause with a good player made weapon unless you have an UBER looted DOT weapon. (and i amspeaking strictly of hunting sinceI do no PvP)I'm talking creatures with 10k ham & above, what good is a 250tickdisease or poison when i can hit for over 3k.. my highest i noticedwas 4k(5300 off its head). I do have a couple looted DOT weapons that aredecent and I use them in certain circumstances.. but when i find myself up against a creature..lets say a Janta Rockshaper that has 100% kin & elec defense.. i'm left with using a DOTweapon that would take me all day to get him down if i last that long since i have no other choices and cannot hit him at all with my regular lances, axes,etc. For me, the fun part of being pike is spinning around and knocking down, dizzying, etc. The whole fight going in slow motion blocking and no special animations is not exactly thrilling... Especially when just the day before, while hunting the same Janta's it looked completely different lol. Only difference between the two days was.. day 1 - (4243) day2 - (4343) Good news is that after that huntI mastered 
well since i dont ' have an energy lance, i decided to take on an arch witch (100% kin) nevertheless. I pulled out my 2 highest potency action fire & poison lances & stuck it on her. WEll, after a long fight, she was at 500 action. i was like finally! then the armor hole stuck. TWICE. dead. fire stops at 150 action. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
The only noteworthy lootable item for fencers is the new Black Gaffi, which can be looted from a Tusken Observer. Those are only just popping up with this publish.

nah, not FotM. its the hologrind that got em. i mean, who in their right mind would want to be a pikeman? besides us of course

Most of them said they're keeping it because it was better than they thought.
See that's how reverse psychology works. We shout to get better, the DEVs eventually start fixing us while nerfing the others so FOTMers jump from one melee to the other, that way it makes us Pikemen by choice stop screaming about wanting to be fixed and remain eternally bugged if we really want our peace
I guess I'll get this post back to rants.
My rant is, I have more toughness at novice swordsman than I do at master pikeman!?
What in the world is up with that?! (I know everyone knows about this, but I didn't realize it until yesterday when I looked in Ctrl+S) 
That just stinks.
