The point stands, Warcry's main purpose now isn't going to be delaying the creature you're fighting. If you do have to Neo out of a situation, that's what burstrun and your conveniently parked speederbike is for, anyway. As far as PvP, I can't help ya much. Honestly, so much about PvP is screwed that we can't really comment on Warcry until we see the rest of the changes coming in.


Anyway, I believe there's a delay associated with Warcry (spoken like a true Brawler, hehe, I have a borked enough internet connection that I can't really notice how fast queued attacks fly through). Either way, handled easily enough with a Warcry/Peace macro if you find yourself in the situation of having to run away often.

Ok, but in every other game that deals with a mez, or rooting ability, what happens when that target has a dot? Givin that professions such as carbineer have only a AoE bleed, it again makes the ability useless. Prior to this lil idea, it was possible to develop a tank meele template with master brawler. Now it would seem master brawler is going to be useless.



And it's not a matter of when it's used. Obviously it would be used as a last ditch effort. Still an autoattack at the speed cap will land me, with a normal amount of server latency, on average two hits in combat spam before my animation ends from a warcry. Most of the time the animation comes after the delay is anounced. Givin the time between the command being made, the animation time and the fact that it will be cue'd, hitting warcry, then peace will stop combat before the war cry is initiated. There is no way to reliably end combat right after a warcry unless you are able to move out of range, givin you move out of range at the same time the animals are attacking, otherwise they will just follow you.


Also the main tactic has always been for multiple adds, meele runs in and begins to tank and grab as much aggro as possible. Ranged personnel sit back, bleed every mob, then assist the meele who needs it most, and alternate in that manner. Givin that run of a conflict, with a group of more than 4 people, it is usually custom to engage multiple targets and attempt to bring them all down at the same time. Thus, for the master brawler, warcry is not an effective tool anymore. It would have it's use in a solo situation, but other than that it is a nerf on every meele's tanking ability.

Actually, what I like about SWG over most other games is that you -can- do very well in combat. The fact that I can fight, fight well, and be actually able to solo some critters that give half-decent xp, makes me want to continue playing. I hate forced grouping, especially if it can be difficult to find a group. I have mixed feelings about what they're doing in the combat pass (even though they really haven't told us much). If they limit our specials, doesn't that rather cripple our ability to fight alone?


Yea yea, I know this is an online game and we should be grouped blah blah... if I only have 30 minutes before work, and want to get some hunting in.. should i spend that entire 30 minutes looking for a group?


I like what others have mentioned... Warcry bonuses and resistances. Give a bonus to Warcry at Novice Brawler, Master Brawler, Master <Elite>, and maybe somewhere in the tree that requires combat XP for your class (i.e. Polearm Support for me). Then give mobs some Warcry resistance. Don't make it ridiculous to the point that you can never stick it, but make it work. Heck.. maybe have it work off Defense Vs. Stun?
