Legwand is right. This way is also highly boring, but profitable and predictable. You pick your fun. Randoms sound more fun.

I dunno about you guys, but I'm a poor SOB. I like to take three or four decent missions ASAP after getting buffed so that I'll be able to pay for more buffs and/or new armor down the line, in addition to a travel ticket back from whatever god-forsaken planet I'm on, hehe.

After that, everything's fair game.

Here's the new guy way of doing it:

At novice pikeman, go to any bio-engineer and ask him to make you the most craptastic pet you can get. I have several level 2 pets, level 0 as babies. They WILL give you more XP than say, a level 10 mount, when grouped. Often, you can find a nice BE who'll GIVE you these pets. Also notice that now, EVERYTHING /cons red. Even butterflies and durnis. Do NOT group with the pet before you run the missions, or you'll get the noob missions for 600 credits.

Save up money till you have enough to get buffed.

Buy some cheap Mabari or bone armor. Low HAM costs and 50% of the damage + whatever kinetic resists are on the armor. let's say 25% on the mabari.

Do 5-6 swamp gurrcat missions at 1500 credits a pop, just so you can buy more buffs. On your way out, look for Dire cat missions. The gurrcats go down in 2-4 hits each. The direcats aren't much different. Swamp gurrcats will give about 1000xp each, the direcats about 1500-1700. Just hit the lair with spin attack and have them all agro you. You'll take down the whole mission in about 3 minutes tops.

After 3 hours on your bike going back & forth for missions, you'll have about 40K and enough for a box worth of XP.

Repeat all steps until you have enough money for a good set of high kinetic Ubese. Now go do the same thing with savage quenkers, but take them 1 on 1, don't spin for these missions. After a few trips, you'll have enough XP to be about 2/1/1/1 or however you want to advance. You'll also have enough money for a nice set of composite. I know decent armorsmiths on my server have a 75% kinetic, 65% electric, 55% base for 115K, and the HAMs are pretty low.

Repeat all steps only this time with giant Baz nitches on Dath. On your way back, if you have medic skills, try roving packs of rancor youths. I did this with leveling fencer.

Now, you have a bunch of money, a decent weapon, darn good armor, and you're about 3/3/3/3. Here's where it gets good......

Endor. Jinda caves. I haven't tried this with Pikeman yet, as I'm 1/0/1/2 or something like that. I tried soloing the cave & I got my butt handed to me. but at 2/2/2/2 fencer, I could solo the place with ease, often without breaking a sweat. With 3/3/3/3 pikeman, if I can't solo this place, I'll agree we're broken as all hell and walk away from the profession entirely.

Here's the trick with the Jindas.... They won't attack you at all. You can dance your way through the caves and not one will even move towards you. Attack ONE, and you have 20 surrounding you. Fuzzy little bears of death. Start spinning. Take them all down. They give anywhere from 1000-5000 (mostly 5000) per kill. 20 at a time. An entire cave full. Think about that for a second, I'll wait till it soaks in. Oh, did I mention every loot pile has DOT combat staffs and SEAs? And a lot of them are PIKEMAN SEAs? So throw that CoB on and spin till you're dizzy. you'll have master soon enough. Once you clear the cave, wait outside & kill the jindas that spawn out there, then go back in & repeat till you're master.

And besides, there's nothing funnier than ewok TKAs, and that's what the high level Jindas are. You can level AND laugh at the same time.

Bears, not cats.... BEARS. And no, no UH3, but it's still funny as all hell.

I remember when I first started playing I was fighting some thugs or something outside coronet, and they were using the TKA moves on me, with the red trails that appear. I got SO excited, I was yelling to my friend "JEDI! JEDI!" But well, we all know that wasn't true.
