True.. but -40 speed perm is pretty tough. Im MLS and I have some speed tapes and I was rendered useless as far as DPS goes for the entire fight.



The slow is the best special ive had to combat to date.



The slow combined with intimidate and your DPS is now 1/3 of what it used to be, For the entire fight.



.... still resisting....

Warcry and Lowblow aren't anywhere near as critical as CM's Thyroid rupture is, warcry and lowblow lasts 20 seconds and misses due to defense, plus warcry costs a good deal of action, Thyroid will keep you at -40 for 2 MINUTES and can easily be repeatively applied with very little chance to miss.

I can still dish out damage rooted by either saber throwing or pull out my Rifle and plug away.



Plus 1 on 1 root cant be chained.



The same could be said about KD... KD means zero DPS. But you cant chain KD.

So you're going to call for nerfs. No surprise. I think all non-Jedi expect everyone of their skills to be challenged by Jedi for a nerf at some point.

I belive many of the post CU states arent even defendable agaisnt yet. As State defence goes i'm certain only the Pre-CU states are actually resisted correctly. This needs looking into imo.

Before the Jedi nerf calls begin, read this post that has extensive testing on the real effect of the -40 speed debuff. The end result is that it's about a 26% decrease in attack speed, which isn't that bad or something that needs nerfing.

Ahhh I think im hitting a nerve here.... let me guess... your a pikeman.



At MLS you get


+100 Speed to any LS
+20 General Melee Speed.



120 Speed + 20 from Improved Force Speed.



So yes, at 140 Speed if someone is hitting you with this specialdoing -40 speed forthe entire fight you are slowed by 28.59%.



The problem isnt so much the slow, its the slow along with improved intimidate. Not only are you slowing the target but you are reducing the damage output perm for the entire fight.



What is the percentage of damage reduction from Improved Intimidate?

Hmmm, interesting.


As far as i know.... pikeman's main role in this game is tanking. I am not a hundred percent but i believe that means we are supposed to be able to take a lot of damage. One might even take a leap of logic and assume that would also mean more longevity in a fight. Our secondary role, I am told, is 'opponent modification'. I could be way off base but i interpret that as being able to debuff our opponents. Since that function is not specifically mentioned in other melee professions i think that means we are supposed to be better at it.


I obviously love pikeman and do not feel it should be nerfed. As far as I am concerned tk pikeman is the best dual mastery tanking combo for non-jedi and should stay that way. I am totally fine with Jedi being able to tank more and you currently can with the right build. A master pikeman template cannot take out necrosis while a master defender template can. That's one example anyway. warcry is one of our better attacks and i do not feel it needs to get nerfed at all.


I haven't won vs. any full temp jedi's yet but am getting closer all the time. The only reason I am getting closer is cause i am honing my skills constantly. I am quite sure there will always be some jedi that i won't be able to beat though ( in the current system) and i am okay with that. Oh, and if you think improved warcry from a master pikeman stacker is rough........ fight a good TKM / M doc. They can go forever.
