Thread: Warcry

Ok this is beyond a joke now. Warcry has been broken for god knows how long, with each attempt by the devs to fix it doing nothing.

It has fortunately been moved into a specific profession for the CU, however this will still be extremely damaging if the devs have not fixed it.

Its clearly broken and yet everyone still feels the need to repeatedly use it. In some cases one person just constantly spamming it, while others attack you and you can do nothing.

It really is game breaking.

Now this post has come about after 3bh decided to gank me ....hardly necessary for melee bhs with dot weapons and heavy damaging ones. But im sure they have their reasons this isnt a whine at them.

However during this encounter one of em was just repeatedly spamming warcry at me, stopping me from doing anything. Even if the cu is only a few weeks away, this still needs to be addressed ffs.

If theyve fixed it in the CU, then theres no reason why they cant put in a hotfix to tide us over untill then.

If this isnt fixed in the CU, then son gouki please do everything you can to make sure the devs are aware of this, as it simply takes any fun out of fighting.

All of my other melee specials have very limited ranges. Warcry's area effect is pretty insane... if I use it on a creature that is 50m away from its lair, the rest of the creatures at the lair can aggro and come join the fight. If this is how warcry is intended to work, then it is worse than useless... it is a menace to the pikeman. It is as if warcry is treated by the same logic as ranged cone shots... which can also hit targets much further than 65m at times.

It seems to have pretty much a 100% aggro effect on all creatures in a wide area too... better than grenades even.

Is this functioning as intended or is this an identified issue?

Warcry is useful, but at the moment I'm also using it as a Taunt effect to pull (because to be honest the Taunt is crap and works in a stupidly short range). You really have to be careful about what way you're facing - really is a crazy cone effect.

I have used warcry quite a bit, but didn't realize the powerful cone it has until I went to the Feral wookiees on the Rryatt trail to do the Katarn quest, boy did I learn the hard way- warcried one wookiee and it ended up mezzing a dozon of them, I had to pop pikata, imp COB, swordflurry & riposte to finish them all off.

I didn't pay enough attention but I'm also curious if warcry snares the target, wondering if this actually is effective against a ranged opponment?

I LOVE warcry........ don't ever see myself fighting without it again. So far as I Can tell it doesn't snare movement. it just slows their attack speed. And yes... it is also very effective against ranged.

As far as I've noticed, Warcry will only aggro things that are actually looking in your direction when you use it. Unless it's changed since I went on vacation.

Warcry has meant the difference in PVE and PVP for me. I haven't noticed a snare effect but it is my best defense against a root. Warcry is also very effective in high end PVE. It's a must have for soloers.

Its alright, but it shouldn't be something you throw in there to stack alongside Intimidate. It used to be unique completely stopping the person from attacking pre-CU, now its this really annoying AOE attack.

Any defence against this? CA's AA's?

Can this state be removed?

Warcry is brutal. Slows me down -40 and pretty much keeps me fighting until im out of force.

No there is no defence and it can't be removed. Just like intimidate and some others. It's a pikeman specialty.
