I don't know.... is it the concensus that pikeman should be the only ones with area in melee at all? I mean, swordsman doesn't even have a kd. We should let them have something

Being new to pikeman and having just skimmed through most of the post here I don't know if it has been brought up.

Why does swordsman have area taunt and not pike or TKM when they are labeld as damage dealer and pike/TKM as tank. It just seems wrong that we, as a tank with some CC, doesn't have any taunt besides the basic one. Since we seem to be geared towards AoE more then TKM it would be logical that we get taunt are and some taunt bonus, not as much as TKM but more then swords/fencer.

I would do 2 things to fix roots.


1) Have a BreakFree melee special that would be low sac, 20% chance of breaking free (see below for more details)


2)Roots would have diminishing returns. For example, everytime you get rooted within 30 seconds your chance to break free would go up by 10%.


An example root combat would be.

BreakFree(20% chance)

30 seconds pass

*Rooted*

BreakFree (30% chance; 20% base + 10% dimishing return)

20 seconds pass

*Rooted*

BreakFree (40% chance; 20% base + 20% dimishing return)

1 minute passes

*Rooted*

BreakFree (30% chance; 20% base + 10% dimishing return. It is 10% lower since a root free 30 seconds went by)



Note: The 30 second time could be reduced to 15 seconds. This would also force ranged fighters in pvp to be a little bit more co-ordinated because if they all spammed root they would be reducing the others effectiveness.


Also /duel and /endduel would reset the diminishing return time to prevent exploits of duel.

Was using the Prof Calculator and realised that our accuracy and speed is the worse compared to the other melee profs. Should be it be raised more?


Atm,intimidate/warcry (too weak) does'nt seem to justify the offset of such low accuracy/speed in the pikeman prof.


Also,i understand pikes is in the tanking spectrum of post cu combat,i don't feelthat way. I can only use AOE attacksand aggro the mobs,w/o a dedicated healer(s) on me,I'm dead.We're more of a mob agrro magnet then a tanker.My 2 cents.

I still say making the NSEL better, comparable to the Kamino Greatstaff for example, would help us out A LOT


a lot of our other issues (i.e. root) are issues for all melee



also, our speed and acc do suck giant donkey balls
