In no particular order:
Increased Range on existing weapons
Reduced Ham
Better Accuracy
Area Bleed
More Weapons
Some ability unique to pikeman that gives us the same "cool" factor as TK (ala Meditate)
Mounted combat is that exciting. Everyone can do it now and using specials isn't that "special" especially if it's at a fraction of the effectiveness
. Now, if pikeman could function at 100% on a mount with some increased benefit (like defense) then I'd be interested.
Ok guys, thanks for the info!
Heres the top 3, all had nuemerous votes:
1) Area Bleed
2) More weapons
3) Mounted Combat
I'll be passing them along shortly
Don't worry, I'll be making sure that our current issues are *top* priority
does no one agree withme?
i think that would be a great idea. Stop them healers.
I like the wound idea... fighting a pikeman could actually become a rather deadly situation

I want polearm hit 3 to have the appropriate damage modifeir (X4 instead of X3)....and i want a move that does at least 2.5X damage and hopefully 3.0X damage that does 100% wounds when we sucsessfully wound some one....not 100% of their health just 100% of the damage we inflict.

Different damage types. I tell you being able to do kineticand electricity can limit us on the high level hunts.
Maybe some blast damage like the PH or some cold damage so we can mow through those new post patch Krayts ![]()
Pikeman's manuvers are supposed to be fluid in form, i.e each attack naturaly flows into the next one. I would like to see some bonuses in the form of more speed, better accuracy, and reduced ham cost of specials for each non repeating special move you do.
for example say you first move is the action hit 2 for the bleed, well if your next move is a diffrent move saypolearm hit2 the ham would be reduced by say 50% of the total, speed would be increased by say 25% and accuracy by 25%. and for each successive move that you do that is not a repeat of any of the previous ones the bonuses remain in effect. Then when you do repeat a special move, attack a new target, ordo the default/attackthe system would reset back to normal.
This would be a good way to get people useing more manuvers andtactics by giving an incentive not to spam the best attack over and over again.
I'd like some new animations for different weapons.
What idiot hits in an enemy with the handle of his lance? Honestly?
My pikeman does. Give us more of a lunging or stabbing animation for the appropriate weapons. The only reason I should be using opposite ends of my weapon is because there's no blade or pointy end on one of 'em (a la metal/wood/reinforced combat staff). My LVA, lance, and VL have pointed ends; why am I using the blunt HANDLE to hit things?
Just give us some appropriate animations.
Also, a vibro staff would be nice. The vibro lance is great, but that's a huge stab weapon. I want a weapon that's used for smashing bones.
One thing thats been bothering me for a while is the posture change attacks making people that are knocked down stand up. This just doesn't make any sense, when I knock your ass down and then polearmhit 3, you stand back up. I'm not handing you my axe to help you back up!
Happens everytime. Just thought i'd bring it up again, as its been bugging me.
Shole-Master Pikeman
hehe, you just answered your own wuestion in that sentence... BUGGED!It's just another one of a thousand issues that they will hopefully(God, I hope and wish and pray) "fix" in the next big patch. With the PolearmHit3 beeing posture changing and all, I first assumed that this skill as a new pikeman would think, should be able to beat a target into the ground slowly changing his postures until he eventually fell over and got KD'ed.. was I wrong when the second hit made him pop right up

This may sound strange (but I guess no stranger than the Fencer Correspondent posting ideas forPikeman in the first place) but I thought of an idea.
Historically, a Pikeman was most commonly used in a defensive line. One-on-one it was relatively easy to bypass a Pikeman's defenses. If you could get inside the damage range of their polearm, it was pretty much all over. Due to this reason, Pikeman used two techniques that worked really well.
One, they would usually line up side-by-sideforming a sort of thorny wall. To get around one Pikeman's defenses basically meant impaling yourself on his neighbor's weapon. Essentially, your partner's offense becomes your defense.
Two, the would follow a shieldman, or sword-and-shield man into battle. The shieldman closed in battle using a primarily defensive posture until engaged with the enemy, while the Pikeman stay on the opposite side of the Shieldman from this enemy. While the enemy was preoccupied with the Shieldman, thePikeman would use the reach of his weapon to attack the enemy around or over the top of the Shieldman. Not having to worry about defense, the Pikeman is able to focus their efforts on a precision strike at their leisure.
While I would prefer to see Pikeman have improved individualabilities,IF the Devs just won't go for it, perhaps they might consider the following option, validated by historical Pikeman tactics.
- If two or more Pikeman are grouped together, the group gains a defensive bonus relative to the number of Pikeman in the group. Perhaps something along the line of each Pikeman granting +10 Melee Defense per Pikeman in the group. You must have a polearm equipped tocontribute to the bonus, but not to gain from it. To me this would be the beginnings of an interesting role for Pikeman. If you see a line (group) of10 Pikeman (+100 Melee Defense) charging you on the combat field... you had better run the other way.
- If a Pikeman is grouped with at least one other melee profession (not Pikeman) they gain an offensive bonus. Possibly +10 Accuracygranted for each non-Pikeman melee profession in the group. This would help to offset a Pikeman normally low accuracy. Only the Pikeman gain this bonus.
The two above bonuses would be stackable. Therefore a group with 3 Pikeman, 1 Fencer, 2 Brawlers, 1 TK,and 1 Swordsman would have a groupwide +30 Melee Defense (woot! I want Pikeman in MY group!) and the 3 Pikeman would have a +50 Accuracy bonus.
I don't know if you would like this... but I thought it could add some variety, address a couple of your issues, and make you desireablein a group on the battlefieldall at the same. If you don't like it that's cool, I won't be offended. ![]()
Good luck in getting your wish listed granted !!!!!
